The incredible book “Goosebumps: The Wizard of Ooze” by R.L. Stine is about a kid named Marco Gonzales and his friend, Gabriella Smith. They find themselves at horrorland following a horror, Winner Taikall, and win a 10% off coupon for chiller house. Marco is a big fan of The Ooze super villain. He happens to find the original issue. But there are other people looking for it, like a man in the ooze costume. But is it really a costume. I would really recommend this book to people who like fantasy The incredible book “Goosebumps: The Wizard of Ooze” by R.L. Stine is about a kid named Marco Gonzales and his friend, Gabriella Smith. I am so happy that my mom got me into the Goosebumps books. You can read these in any order so don't worry that this one is number 17 in the series. I really hope that this one becomes a movie. My mom said that this used to be on tv as a show so we're looking for those now. The characters in this one were great and I loved the creepy story! The reread does point out a few things but I still enjoyed it as much as I did it the first time. Marco's character showed compassion over something in life while Gabrielle was a really twisting girl especially when she agrees that she read the book. He finds the super-rare edition of the ooze comic at the Chiller house gift shop at a carnival at Horror land, then he is then chased and surrounded/ stalked by real life oozing monstrous villains trying to takeover is comic collection and everywhere he goes he is forced to dress up like a monster, if he is not disguised then he will be targeted by the evil oozing mutants. Marco and his sister Gabriela cannot stay close to the monsters because the more they are around them, the faster they will start acting like the monsters. If Marco leaves his sister and is around a monster then the sister will not know it’s him and the monsters trick her into thinking it’s him but it’s not and she gets trapped and put into the comic. Later on in the story, Marco then earns a lot of tickets from the games and saves them up and then goes into the “Room of Terror” and plays a big prize winning game, he then gets trapped in there and finds out that he has a choice to either win and save his sister or lose and she stays trapped and avoided forever and loses the comic and his sister turns into a monster because of the spell casting on her from the oily black and green ooze. The beginning of this story is obviously an intro and shows how Marco and Gabriela grew up and got to this carnival and then the mood of the story changes so fast, because the suspense rises and the climax comes quick after the intro then you would think that everything is okay, and then everything gets bad again and then goes downhill for while and increases suspense for awhile. I definitely think that this book is for people who really live or want to read a book related to the genres including horror, suspense, thriller, and mystery. It turns out that Marco is a really brave person in this story and sticks up for what is right and does not give up no matter the circumstance. Those are good lessons and morals i got from this story.

In a good way. I’ve been reading Goosebumps since I was a kid back in the late 90’s and still do to this day. And this is by far one of my most favorites. SPOILER: Only thing I didn’t understand was why Stine had Marco tell Gabriella about the Ooze and the Fabulous Flame (Sammy) threatening and attacking him since they want the comic book and Flame wanted the bookmark? And she didn’t believe him? She believed and practiced finding her sueperpower, why would she not believe Marco about the Ooze and Flame? The author could’ve had Marco not tell her and think she wouldn’t believe him just like he said that Zeke wouldn’t believe him. That’s just my opinion. Other than that, this is a great story.

As the endgame draws near for this incarnation of the Horrorland series, one would expect Jonathan Chiller's involvement in the plot to be increasing; however, that isn't really the case in The Wizard of Ooze. As with all of the other books in this second tier of the series excepting Weirdo Halloween, Jonathan Chiller only appears at the beginning and the end, deepening the mystery over what he has planned for the kids who have bought merchandise from his Horrorland souvenir shop. The story arc As the endgame draws near for this incarnation of the Horrorland series, one would expect Jonathan Chiller's involvement in the plot to be increasing; however, that isn't really the case in The Wizard of Ooze. As with all of the other books in this second tier of the series excepting Weirdo Halloween, Jonathan Chiller only appears at the beginning and the end, deepening the mystery over what he has planned for the kids who have bought merchandise from his Horrorland souvenir shop. The story arc will be reaching its end soon, yet we still know little about the larger scheme that Jonathan Chiller has in mind. After buying an extremely rare edition of a comic book featuring his favorite supervillain, The Ooze, at Jonathan Chiller's store, Marco can't resist following the directions in the back of the book about how anyone can find his or her own superpowers and become a superhero. The shocking thing for Marco is that the tips actually work; at least, they work for a few seconds, before leaving him back in his natural state again. Marco is sure that he's doing something wrong, but what? If the concept weren't real then it surely wouldn't work even for just a few seconds, but how should he go about procuring the superpowers on a permanent basis? Unfortunately for Marco, the excitement of being on the cusp of achieving special powers causes him to let his guard down and be less discreet than one should be under such dynamic circumstances. Suddenly there are real supervillains on his tail, desperate to steal his rare comic book. If Marco gets in their way then he's likely to be toast, as there's precious little that an average mortal can do against a being with superpowers. If Marco can get his powers working regularly, though, then maybe there is something that he can do. But how is he to figure out the final piece to the puzzle when it has completely eluded him up to this point? R.L. Stine rarely fails to install some unexpected twists in his books, and The Wizard of Ooze has its fair share of surprises. I would rate it at one and a half stars, for sure, and I almost rounded that up to two. It's a diverting action-adventure that I believe is worth reading, and does a nice job of leading into the next book in the series.

Next, the ACTUAL Wizard of Ooze comes out and battles Marco for the comic book due to its magical powers. After sorting all the mess out Marco find out that he has a new enemy, his brother! The only characters in the book are Marco Gonzales who is the main character and gets his hands on the comic and acquires the powers. The next character is Gabriella Smith who is the main character's best friend and helps out in a particular scene where they have conflict with the villain. Later on Marco's brother acquires permanent powers and uses it on his brother to achieve power in the house. These characters are pretty well developed and you can tell their personalities are well crafted. I think the book would have been much less realistic if told in the 3rd person view. The whole story was told in the first person view of the main character Marco. It is important that the story is told this way because it adds more realism to how certain things are described. Feelings are also more vivid because the narrator speaks out of experience. Also it is a good story because it has pretty intense action scenes and a plot twist which are also good. I felt pride after reading this book because I never read a book before without a teacher telling me to. Also I have read a bunch of these authors’ books when I was a kid and I enjoyed them.

I think that goosebumps Horrorland is a very good book because it has three parts to it and its cool. There was a kid named Marco and his friend Gabriella she was Marcos friend Marco has been collecting comic books of all sorts. Then at the end of the story Marco had the horror in his hand and he got teleported to Horroland.

This one was good. It's about a boy and girl who go to the amusement park Horrorland and find an elusive book about the character The Ooze. They take it home and find that in the back of the book are ways in which you can get your own superpowers, but other people want the book, too and will stop at nothing in order to get it. Here's my thing; Stine has created 3 super villains that escape to the 'real world'. However, none of the kids acknowledge the comic book based off of the other villains. It's been established that Goosebumps is a shared universe, so why does the boy in this book NOT see a 'Masked Mutant' cosplay at the convention? Any way, this book was ok. Not Stine's best, but certainly far from his worst. Here's my thing; Stine has created 3 super villains that escape to the 'real world'. Another good Goosebumps story I read with my son. The chapter endings were not as leading as some of the previous books, but another solid story with characters my son talked about for days after we were done.
