I'm a fan of puzzle books anyway and he makes fun of the puzzle tropes, making them impossible, ("Unfortunately, this maze cannot be solved at this time.") very difficult, ("List all of the countries in Africa in alphabetical order. Do not get any wrong.") or stunningly easy (one of the mazes is more of a single path). The answers are fun because they all encapsulate hopelessness and despair, but in a funny way that one has come to expect from the series. I thought this would be one of those annoying movie tie-in things that focuses more on advertising the movie than anything else, but it actually was a pretty cool read! There's that classic Snicket humor and the book legitimately felt like an extra peek into the series. There's no new information, but it's still funny, and the puzzles are ones that can be enjoyed at any age. Pleasantly surprised! Lemony Snicket companion to the series about the Baudelaire orphans. Hilarious and perplexing. The author is a sometime-member of The Magnetic Fields, by the way.

It was deffinitally mind boggling. I got stumped more then once, that's for sure. but a wonderul book. You will get it more if you read the series first. It was deffinitally mind boggling. We love puzzles....so, needless to say, the book itself couldn't be put down until the last puzzle was puzzled out! We love puzzles....so, needless to say, the book itself couldn't be put down until the last puzzle was puzzled out!

Truly bothersome. I find most of the riddles annoying.
