I had this class way back in undergrad. I swear this is the same book I had then, unchanged. Any self-respecting networking tome cannot have any heading with "Metropolitan Area Network" that's not at least a little tongue-in-cheek, yet this stale, dry tome has the same approach to the subject I remember back in 199x. At least it did away with the sections on 2bT, 5bT, and vampire-tap cabling. But there's too much of a stench of vacuum tubes about this text. I had this class way back in undergrad. Good overview from an MIS point of view; great diagrams. Wish the book's 'In Action' (practical application) sections were more extensive; as it stands, the book is just too much overview with emphasis on rote learning.
