I was looking for a Biography of Oscar Romero with a good context of what was going on in El Salvador during his time as Archbishop. More than a factual biography, the book is a tribute to Romero and it seems like the goal is to prove how good of a man he was. It is a great tribute to a great man but I would not recommend it if you are more interested in the historical context of El Salvador and understanding the interactions between the different actors that ultimately lead to Romero's assassin I was looking for a Biography of Oscar Romero with a good context of what was going on in El Salvador during his time as Archbishop. A wonderful biography of a great martyr of our time. What I liked best about this book was that the chapters were short averaging about 4 pages. This allowed each chapter to be laser focused on a brief period of his life. Each chapter contained multiple quotes from the archbishop's writings and sermons along with pictures from his personal photographer. I used the book for spiritual reading where I would reflect upon the quotes and how I could apply them to my life today. A wonderful biography of a great martyr of our time. An inspirational insight Oscar Romero is one of the giants of the 20th century. I knew very little about him before I read this book and I now see that he stands beside the like of Martin Luther King. An easy book to read.
