I am loving me some Elicia Hyder! This series has all my favorite genres rolled up into one book. Elicia has weaved a fantastic and very unique plot that's a supernatural thriller with tons of mystery, suspense and laugh out loud humor as well as some serious sex appeal. I love that Sloan is not your typical heroine and isn't predictable. Sloan, Adrienne, Nathan and Warren really make this story rock. You'll Fall In Love With Sloan I've read this book 4 times, it's an engaging read that starts fast, pulls you in, and makes you fall in love with the characters from page one...If you enjoy thrillers with a touch of the supernatural, smart heroines, and lively and humorous banter, this book is the perfect read. I've already read the second book in the series, and I can't even tell you which one I like better. And believe me, that's a great problem to have. One of my new favorite authors... After finishing the last Darynda Jones "Charlie" book and the latest Preston & Child "Pendergast" novel I was looking for something similar to immerse myself in. I read all genres-the classics, mysteries, history, etc., Trust me-this series was enjoyable *** THE SOUL SUMMONER (Book 1) Blessed or cursed with a connection to the souls of others, Sloan Jordan can see the best in people...and the worst. With nothing more than a glance at a photograph, she can judge the living from the dead and the good souls from the evil ones. For twenty-seven years, she's kept her ability a secret, but eleven young women have been murdered in the mountains of North Carolina, and Sloan may be the only hope of finding their killer. She has just agreed to help Detective Nathan McNamara with the case, when a stranger--who is as alluring as he is terrifying--shows up at her doorstep with a dark past and another puzzling mystery: she can't see his soul at all. Now Sloan is on the hunt for a deadly psychopath with two irresistible men. One of them would die for her, and the other would kill to keep her safe. THE SIREN (Book 2) All the missing victims of North Carolina's deadliest serial killer have been found, all except Rachel Smith. When the FBI produces a photo proving Rachel is alive and well in Texas, one case is closed but another one is opened. Either this is a case of mistaken identity or there are more people than just Sloan Jordan and Warren Parish who seem to walk the earth without a soul. Along with Detective Nathan McNamara, Sloan and Warren travel south to find Rachel and solve the biggest mystery of all: determining who--or what--they really are. THE ANGEL OF DEATH (BOOK 3) After stopping a serial killer and shutting down an interstate human trafficking ring, Sloan Jordan is ready for a break. But back at home in Asheville, her problems have only just begun. The supernatural world has taken an interest in her, and strange things are happening.

First time reading from the author. The Soul Summoner Book One: I thought the story was well written. I liked Sloan, Warren and Nathan’s characters. I liked other characters in the story as well. The story held me hostage and couldn’t stop reading until I read everything the author threw at me to read. The mystery, twist and turns, had me pointing fingers at suspects, I thought that did it. Wow was I wrong. I was hoping to see Sloan get with Nathan, then Warren comes along, then started hoping for him and her to get together. I even had a moment that maybe three of them would get together. I don’t know who I want her to be with they both seem like great guys. The Siren Book Two: I thought the second part to the series was well written. The characters still pull me in wanting to know everything that is going on. When good angels, bad angels or demons get mention in the story, it pulls me in that much more. The mystery with twist, turns and action kept the story going. It kept my interest wanting to see what happen next. What an ending. It had a steady pace and couldn’t wait to start the third book to see what would happen next. The Angel of Death Book Three: I loved the story and thought it was well written. Sloan’s character made me crazy at times with her feelings for Nathan and Warren, never ending feelings. As the story unfolds it keeps me in its clutches and pulls me along to learn more info of the story the author is willing to share with me. I cried for a character and was shocked to see what happen after. Wow lot of action going on in the third book. I thought all three books were well written and loved the characters in the story. Nice steady pace to keep the story moving along. I can’t wait to read the next one. The story sure sunk its claws in me to wanting to know what will happen next. Very good series. Got ARC for an honest review. Thank you for letting me read your story.

Not going to lie I love Sloan and Nathan together. I was hoping they'd end up together finally when you decided to trick us. I'm peeved. I don't dislike Warren but I don't believe they have chemistry like she does with Nathan. I'd like to point out if these daughters were born for Warren it stands that Warren would also be drawn to them so why was he not physically attracted and wanting to jump Taiya? That's the whole reason for his and Sloan being together. My heart breaks for Nathan each time. Not going to lie I love Sloan and Nathan together. Awesome Collectively amazing. Such great characters and pacing. Hard to put down. Book 1 Totally 5 stars. The story flowed perfectly. Im trying to remember, but I can't think of a single fault. The series at this point seriously slips into angel demon wars, which is not my thing except in Christian writing. Still, I was so in love with the series, I had to continue. For some unfathomable reason, I lost faith in the author at the beginning at thought I could predict what was going to happen. I was so disappointed with this. Lo and behold, I should have kept the faith cause my fears were unfounded. No predictability here!

A great series Unique characters set in a paranormal world. They have the same problems we all do, except for the paranormal ones that is! Love it!! What a refreshing read!! So many authors repeat words and phrases, especially in a series, and these books don’t do that at all! The characters are interesting and the story keeps your attention. These alone make my kindle unlimited subscription worth it. So happy I found this author!

Sloan and her friend Adrianne were having a meal together. Adrianne kept teasing her about how she can somehow summon people to her by thinking of them and calling her a witch. And then they step out the door and see the person Adrianne had teased her to “call” to them! So Sloan explains how she has always had a feeling that she has met everyone before – there are no strangers in her life. She gets a sense about people and knows if they are alive or dead and what kind of person they are, whether Sloan and her friend Adrianne were having a meal together. She gets a sense about people and knows if they are alive or dead and what kind of person they are, whether good or evil. People are drawn to her. But this is a secret she doesn’t want known. Years later, working at her publicist job, Sloan found Detective Nathan McNamara knocking at her office door. He was delivering a press release regarding a missing person and was startled when she gushed, “He’s dead.” She brushed off her comment as a wild guess, but he remembered. He would later come back to ask her how she knew with certainty, in the hope that she could tell him about a missing little girl kidnapped at gunpoint and presumed dead. The characters in this book were all amazingly detailed. The humor interspersed was just wonderful and made them all so real. I felt like I thoroughly knew each one of them and they felt like old friends. The fast pace kept me reading on and on as Sloan and Nate tried to solve the mystery of a vicious serial killer loose in their own hometown – this was one book I definitely couldn’t put down! I highly recommend it! In addition to The Siren, which continues the work that Sloan, Nate and Warren started here, there are a couple other related stories worth reading. This was really one of my favorite series! You will definitely enjoy the read! It’s exciting and fascinating with lots of surprises! (I purchased these books individually as well as the 2-book box set, so although I didn't buy this one also, I do own all the books and loved reading each one!)

Characters that make you laugh and cry, suspense as killers are found and supernatural beings become visible. My new book and author addiction. There's an almost immediate romantic pull, which sets up a love triangle that persists. There's lots of danger and action in the plot. The first book reminds me of a Charlaine Harris mystery, similar to the Grave Sight series. To me, the ideal solution would be a threesome, as long as she can get everyone to go along with it. She is counseled against this idea by her dad. Book two becomes less mystery and more action and crime. There's a bunch of Christian theology. Book three continues in this vein, adding a conspiracy, evasion, and a battle. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger involving a kidnapping. Typos: blonde used for man (it's feminine), he used for I ("he didn't get the sense"), inconsistent and incorrect end quote punctuation, nutsack used for nutsac, incorrect and inconsistent apostrophe use (e.g., Papa's and Beer," where papas is Spanish for potatoes and the name is spelled without an apostrophe on all the t-shirts I have seen), missing period and comma, lay/lie mix-ups, incorrect capitalization ("my Dad"), pouring used for poring, "mob squad" used for mod squad, comma used for semicolon, missing words ("need fall apart," "run check on my dad," "Warren nor Nathan"), wrong verb tense, adjective used as adverb, MPX used for MCX [Marine Corps Exchange].

Hated the protagonist so the book did its job and engaged me Ummmm, what can I say? I gave the book 4 stars because I was engaged by the author's smooth story telling, relatable human interaction (from most characters), and the nicely judged pace. Also any author that manages to keep me turning pages in spite of my intense dislike for the central character deserves a 4 star rating. So, Sloan, I found her to be simpering, manipulative and self centred for a majority of the books, none of which are endearing or positive character traits for me. She always seemed to need a man to calm her, help her, hold her, explain stuff to her or simply protect her. The way she selfishly played the two male characters against each other, stringing them both along is not enjoyable at all. I realise in some books this is an essential plot device, I think it shows weak character and the immature attitude of a teen, let me just play with this one and see if a better offer comes along. She is supposed to be 27 not a teenager. As for the plot, it was very well crafted, even a couple of twists and of course a cliff hanger for the next book, nicely done Ms Hyder, the pacing and reveals of the various turns were perfectly judged. Here's hoping that Sloan grows up a bit in the next books, because I will be reading them!

Nathan is amazing, Warren is apparently living breathing heroin and Sloan’s best friend cracks me up. I hate the love triangle, though. Sloan spends her whole life not having a meaningful romantic relationship because of her worries that people are attracted because of her supernatural-ness and jumps head first into the most supernatural relationship possible. It was annoying how long the triangle was drawn out when it was clear who Sloan would pick. I almost threw my iPad near the end of book 3, got my hopes all up and then crushed. Again. I’m invested and need to know what happens now? So off to read the next 3 books!
