A.S. Green is such a master at weaving her own magic and suspense into an old legend and constructing her own story capable of pulling you in completely. The ba'vonn-shee are the Scottish fae version of vampires, and the Campbell clan--the only surviving ba'vonn-shee clan left--is in desperate need of a queen. Ainsley is a botany student whose quiet and unassuming lifestyle is upended when she sees one of Alex's brothers feeding off of an unsuspecting human. Alex is positive that Ainsley is the key to his clan's survival, while she is determined not to get hurt by another man in her life again. There was romance, suspense, and misunderstandings aplenty, and I loved returning to this lovely world. Although each of A.S. Green's series are standalones, I would recommend reading them in order as we get some crossover characters in each of her series. Start with the Fae Hellhound series, then Fae Academy, then this new series. Overall, 4.5 stars! My Alex, the clan chieftain who's determined to protect his queen above all else... *ARC provided by the author, and I voluntarily reviewed it*

I thoroughly enjoyed Stasia Black's Dark Prince's Captive. The characters were wonderful and the storyline had such a twist from other vampire stories, that it was captivating and drew me in until the last page. Going to try and read the other stories in this collection. I thoroughly enjoyed Stasia Black's Dark Prince's Captive. I've made sure to read my favorite author first, so reading CC Solomon's Deathly Touch was the immediate pleasure I expected it to be. However, a warning; it's not your typical vampire story. Jazmine has a power that isn't just unusual, it's frightening as well. She can kill with her touch. And the way she discovers this is horrific in itself. The rest of her life is built around this power and what it does. But, then, the whole world changed on that one day. It was the day of the Magical Apocal I've made sure to read my favorite author first, so reading CC Solomon's Deathly Touch was the immediate pleasure I expected it to be. However, a warning; it's not your typical vampire story. Jazmine has a power that isn't just unusual, it's frightening as well. She can kill with her touch. And the way she discovers this is horrific in itself. The rest of her life is built around this power and what it does. But, then, the whole world changed on that one day. It was the day of the Magical Apocalypse, and it changed the lives of a great deal more than just her. Having her sister feel responsible for her didn't help matters any. Her sister was the only person in her life that wasn't afraid of her. which, when doesn't really make up for a lonely existence. Along with the Paranormal Apocalpyse came the Sickness, which affected those not paranormal, so it seemed everyone was affected in one way or another. Her only friend is a Zombie, sort of, her sister is engaged to a telekinetic, and now she finds out she can touch an undead vampire...with some extraordinary side effects. Evan is the first person she can touch without gloves, without issues, just touch. And he doesn't die. As a matter of fact, the effect it does have...well, you have to find that out for yourself. This story is so different and so cool. There's nothing better than an active imagination that when set loose comes up with something so out there! Deathly Touch, the story by CC Solomon, is definitely one story that makes the whole book worth the purchase. I still intend to read the one by Avery Song (I've never read anything of her's yet) and the one by Stasia Black, as I have read her works before, but in the meantime, Deathly Touch is a story worth the read, which I am hoping develops into a series. Well done, CC Solomon! It's because of you that I bought this book, and you proved to me, once again, that you have a wild and vivid imagination! Loved Deathly Touch! Make it a series!

★ Bone of contention ★ —>>> This review is for Stasia Black’s DARK PRINCE’S CAPTIVE - Unique vampire history meets the paranormal world in this story, which was engaging from beginning to end. This author’s story is included in the Eternal Bites limited edition vampire anthology. River gets a chance to use her knowledge of 16th century Ottoman Empire history to solve a problem she was roped into as an innocent, only to find much more on the other side.

Alexandru & River’s Story In Dark Prince’s Captive Is A Very Slow Burn That Will Thrill Dracula Die-Hard Fans! River Paulson, twenty-three, is making something of her life. She supports herself with a part-time modelling gig while putting herself through school. She supports herself with a part-time modelling gig while putting herself through school. She pulled herself out of her trailer park roots and is leaving behind the abuse and neglect of her childhood. While she might embrace the idea of hard work, her little sister Bianca – nineteen – is having a harder go of it. While River is two weeks away from finishing her Master’s degree at Penn State, Bianca shows up strung out once again, scared for her life. Apparently she took some bad advice and found herself in a world of trouble. Always the protector and the selfless sister, River puts her thesis paper on the sixteenth century Ottoman Empire aside to help Bianca out of the crisis. Mustering the confidence she learned from her plus-size modelling career, she arranges to meet a certain Vladislav to propose a solution, meanwhile buying her sister a bus ticket out of town. Alexandru Țepeș, roughly twenty-five, is determined to end the curse that his made his family into monsters. He hates his Uncle Vlad, despite the soft spot Vlad seems to have for him. And just because he is in Uncle Vlad’s favor today doesn’t mean Vlad won’t make an example of him tomorrow. His cousins are a problem too, barely kept in line by his Uncle’s rule. Alexandru chose to live as a hermit for the past few years as his Crisis approaches, but the family had other ideas. They have managed to wrangle him up to ensure the breeding ritual takes place and the family line continues. Alexandru’s practiced self-control comes in handy when he finds himself locked away with the delicious-smelling River. Using all his self-possession, he manages to keep his eye on the goal of bringing down his uncle. His plan requires winning River’s trust, however, and that proves to be a challenge. River is thrown into a strange world that doesn’t make sense, and soon questions her own sanity. The two embark on a search together to find a way to take down Vlad. On their journey they pick up Alexandru’s old friend Savannah Jones, whose family practices divination, and meet Dracula expert Mihai Trandafir in București. Both are interesting characters that stir the pot as Alexandru and River race to get the answers they need. Alexandru and River’s story is a very slow burn that will thrill Dracula die-hard fans. The story weaves together a little romance along with the history of the revered Voivode of Wallachia – Vlad Țepeș, son of Dracul – who is the inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The story is plot-driven. It is written in first person in River’s POV and in third person in Alexandru’s POV. I rate this book four stars. I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The plot is fast paced with suspense which kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. And I absolutely loved the introduction of a new Fae race that has not been a part of her previous series to date. I was excited that Cormac made a brief appearance too! While the series are separate, each book could be stand alone, it’s much better reading them together and in order. Starting with Blood Thorn is like a new series, so it’s a great place to start and if it ticks your paranormal romance boxes, there’s at least six other books to devour as you wait on book 2 of this series! I must say that Alex and Ainsley are really wonderful characters and overall, I absolutely loved this book. I cannot wait for additional books in this series. Callum and Knox are very intriguing. I’m really hoping these two get stories, but especially Knox. I cannot wait to see him fall, he is going to fall hard like a Redwood tree. I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily sharing my review. Exceptional and exciting The Dark Prince’s Captive by Stasia Black is a vey well written paranormal and dark romance that I simply was loathe to put down. This book is fast paced with plenty of vampire and magical elements to keep it exciting. The plot is captivating as Alex and River are thrown together into a situation that is dire. Underlying it all is the paranormal world that is an unknown for River. As far as characters go, River is exceptional. She is strong and confident, even when vulnerable and unsure in this crazy situation she finds herself in. River and Alex together are stronger, but they don’t really know each other. As their story progresses, they vacillate between trust and mistrust, adding another level of antagonism to this book. Overall, this paranormal romance has some dark elements, steamy tension, plenty of suspense and danger (both magical and mortal) to keep readers on the edge of their seat and hoping for a happy resolution and HEA for River and Alex. And yes, the HEA is guaranteed! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily sharing my review.

Please note: My review is for the story Dark Prince's Captive by Stasia Black. I am voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this story only. I don't like giving bad or mediocre reviews, especially to authors that I really like but in my opinion, this story was a bit of a mess, especially the last portion, and I found the end downright disappointing. River left me cold and I didn't feel any real connection between these characters. After the initial exciting opening, I feel like the story lagged a bit but then it got a little wilder and crazier which was at least more interesting; however, the time jump was a disappointing finish for me. I don't know how to describe it except to say it is confusing and unrealistic in regards to the rest of the story, and left too much unexplained. Based on the reviews which were specifically for Dark Prince's Captive, I feel like I read a different story! I also hope the editing issues were cleared up before the story was published because the errors were a bit distracting as well.

Because of the way the story is told the reader becomes invested in the characters and the overall storyline. It’s like going on a vacation with great friends, who you are privileged to watch grow and learn. I can’t wait to see what happens to a Princess Valerie and her guardians and her partner Augustus (who is more of a Frenemy) in the first semester of school. The only critique I’d have is that I don’t like when books end in a cliffhanger, it bothers me because I want to know what happens next and sometimes I’m the dork that can’t help thinking about it. The mark of a great storyteller in my opinion. Keep up the great work Avery Song, I can’t wait for more.

After an altercation with the resident bully and interference from Prince Augustus Valerie seizes her opportunity to escape and have a better life. After finding out the shocking truth from her aunt that she is Princess, her assigned guardians whisk her away to Vampira Crescent Academy, a school for royalty. Of course its not as simple as walking into the school and getting your room and class assignments, at this school Valerie has to face trials to be accepted into the school. She is forced to partner with Augustus after running into him in the middle of the trials and together they arrive at the school, but not without discovering a shocking revelation that makes them both question what they thought to be true. This story is just getting started and I cannot wait until the full story is released! This is easily turning into one of my all time favorites!

Vampire Crescent Academy Valentina Mallory is a young orphan who is outrageously bullied by the mean girls of the orphanage. But Valerie doesn’t let this hold her back, she is a unique hybrid who knows her only salvation will be the knowledge she obtains and the strength of her fighting skills that will get her the freedom she so desperately longs for. But as the expected visit from the Prince draws closer, so does Janelle’s need to completely wipe out any sense of self worth that Valerie has worked so hard to obtain. Join in the journey of discovery that Val takes as she learns the truth of who she is and what she has always meant to be! This is a brand new world that I can’t wait to read more about.

It's a slow burn vampire romance, the characters are both well-drawn and relatable. Their story is plot-driven and drew me in and although It doesn't end on a cliffhanger it does feel like it could be the start of a new series, I hope it is because I would certainly read it!. I haven't read the other books in this compilation but if they are as good as this one I'm sure it will be a great success.

I have read a bit from this author. I have to admit being a bit confused. When the author has a book and cover that looks one way, I searched for that book to buy hoping it had been edited and it took me a bit to clue in this was added to another book, an anthology. Dark Prince's Captive by Stasia Black Based on the synopsis I expected the story to be completely different, kind of predictable in where it was headed. But I found this book to be unexpected in the way it evolves that I quite enjoyed the ride. The writing was easy to read and I breezed through it in a day. Now that said it wasn't without its faults. There's a few spelling/editorial mistakes, but honestly not many or frequent enough to bother me. I received the ARC for this book (Dark Prince's Captive) out of the blue so went into it with the idea that it was much like Stasia's other books- I found that it was not, in fact it felt quite different. My review is for Dark Prince's Captive by Stasia Black River had a less than ideal childhood and ended up playing mom to her younger sister because her own mother was so checked out, so now as an adult when her sister turns up at her apartment scared out of her mind, River does what she always does and steps in to save her sister from her poor choices. Only this time she has bitten off way more than she chew and the next thing she finds herself waking up in a basement with talk of breeding and locked in with her the hottest man she has ever seen, Alex. What opens up to her is a world that she assumed only existed in books, filled with passion, danger and a journey that will flip her world upside down. The book is well-written and the characters are superbly crafted. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I did a review for Dark Prince’s Captive by Stasia Black- I got to say that I really loved this story. Alex and River were just born for the other. They were brought together by chance, or maybe it was fate. Alex is in his Crisis year, meaning he needs to breed with a human woman and bite her at the same time and then she will have a son. Alex has defied his Uncle Vlad, and Vlad thinks he finally has the person who can change that, River. Alex had an instant connection and a need to protect and I did a review for Dark Prince’s Captive by Stasia Black- I got to say that I really loved this story. Alex has defied his Uncle Vlad, and Vlad thinks he finally has the person who can change that, River. Alex had an instant connection and a need to protect and save her from his uncle’s plans. There are so many twists throughout this story, action, suspense, intrigue. I was kept on the edge of my seat just wondering what would happen next. Stasia weaved a great tale of Vlad the Inpaler and his family. I loved the characters we met along the way, especially Sav. I will be teasing the other stories and add to my review as I read them.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I'm not familiar with many of these authors, but vampires are my thing, so I bought this boxset for an amazing price when it was available. I tried out a few of the stories, but Dark Prince's Captive was the first to hook me the most (and I like the writing style). I was really enjoying it until about 1/2 through, and then by the time I was finished I was upset. There's a time-hop of 5 years, and right before that the MC's FINALLY have sex and it's super quick, barely any emotion, and then the F I'm not familiar with many of these authors, but vampires are my thing, so I bought this boxset for an amazing price when it was available. This ending was rushed. I really enjoyed these characters and feel like they deserved so much more. That being said, I'm still giving this box set 4 stars because I haven't read the other stories yet. I'm on to read A.S Green's book and will update my review with thoughts.

Dark Princes Captive Another wonderful read by Stasia Black Who would have believed that Alexandra’s Family from descendants of Vlad Tsepath, to anyone this would mean absolutely nothing at all? Imagine then that in the basement Alex has been secured with a sacrifice and it is intended that he will only be released when he had fed from her, however River Poulson has ideas of her own and none of them include being fed on by a vampire. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Engaging adventures 4 stars - Dark Prince’s Captive by Stasia Black: For a story that is part of an anthology, Dark Prince’s Captive has a good length. I am also used to more darker themes from this author. While Alex and River’s romance has violence and threat of violence, the villain is not as psychologically twisted as in her other books, for example the Love So Dark duet. The Dark Prince’s Captive is full of adventure and action. I love an anthology and I always can find at least a couple of books that I really enjoy. This set includes nine books by nine authors with a vampire theme just in time for Halloween. These are all full length books, so really a great value for under $5. One of my favorites was from Stasia Black, Dark Prince's Captive. Alexandru and River's story starts out really slow, but when it picks up, hang on. River finds repaying her drug addicted sisters debt is not as easy as it seemed. there is action I love an anthology and I always can find at least a couple of books that I really enjoy.
