The first thing that I noticed about this book was how excellent the writing was. I was taken in by the smooth writing style and the excellent crafting of the story. The plot was executed perfectly. It was packed with emotions and there were shocking plot points. I loved every moment. Hopper really developed her characters well. It was so easy to fall into the shoes of these characters and live their lives and feel what they were feeling. I know that a book is remarkable when I feel like I am right there inside the story, a part of the characters' lives. Stana and Ali were both fascinating characters that drew me in. They were relatable and so likable. The secondary characters in this book were just as marvelous as the main characters. I was so invested in their story. I seriously cannot wait to read their stories in future books. I was complete trash for the romance in this book. Stana and Ali were so great together. The sexual tension between them was so real that it felt tangible. The romance in this book will make you believe in soulmates. Overall, this was an impressive story that had me feeling a gamut of emotions. I am so glad that I took a chance on this new author because I think that I have found a new favorite storyteller. I am so eager to back and read her backlist and I can't wait for future publications. Do yourself a favor and pick this book up today! More reviews on my blog: Novel Nerd Faction

Saint Street was everything I expected it to be, lighthearted, humorous, and romantic. And, it was also warmhearted and downright inspirational, with unexpected depth... it was about finding your passion, spreading your wings, and charting your course in life.Yes, it had the ups and downs of life and the very real stress and panic that come when you're trying to figure out what in the world to do with your life but it also included the courage and inner strength found when you come into your own Saint Street was everything I expected it to be, lighthearted, humorous, and romantic. And, it was also warmhearted and downright inspirational, with unexpected depth... it was about finding your passion, spreading your wings, and charting your course in life.Yes, it had the ups and downs of life and the very real stress and panic that come when you're trying to figure out what in the world to do with your life but it also included the courage and inner strength found when you come into your own. Can I just also say that I found myself liking the book before I even started the first chapter. The addition of a personalized playlist for the story was absolutely wonderful and several of the songs ended up on my playlist. Alright, now back to the story. Augustana (no one has ever heard of that name before but yes, we love it) is a recent college graduate, who is living in sunny L.A. with her parents. Used to following the crowd and going with the flow of life, she realizes the need for change and embarks on a life-changing journey. There's a saying that goes, You can never cross the ocean unless you lose sight of the shore. That rings true in Augustana Stana's case as she takes the leap and crosses the pond from L.A. to London. There, she finds a very special bar named Saint Street and soon her time is spent making memories in the bar and finding a newfound level of friendship with the siblings, Alistair Ali and Emilia Em and their friends, Owen and Reeve. "Even if I were alone, without all the incredible people who've helped change me along the road, I know that I could do this. I'm just lucky I don't have to be. That's the thing about change. You don't always notice it until it's come upon you, and even then, it's too late to go back. Because by the time you realize it, you're already someone completely different. And thank God for that." It's through their friendship and the love Stana finds with Ali that she's able to heal and move forward with her life. And everyone should have a friend like Em and a cousin like Lottie. I mean, I wanted to claim them as my people by the end of the book. "I think it says a lot about the people who come afterward, the ones who put you back together. The ones who not only smooth out all the cracks in your heart, but also try to fill them." This book was an unexpected delight to read. The Friends references slipped throughout the story never failed to make me laugh, they added a lighthearted touch and are sure to make any fan of the tv show, Friends, crack a grin. Special thank you to the author for providing me with a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. 💫 All ratings and reviews are my own personal opinion. Saint Street, by Scarlett Hopper is such a great read! Five stars, for sure! What she finds is a new way of life, friends who become family, an honest love, and most importantly - herself. “And slowly my heart beats again, a little stronger than it did before. I am an avid reader and I don’t think I’ve ever fallen in love with a character so quickly before! Stana is easy to love, and her character immediately pulled me into this book. I wanted to know all about her and follow her story. I wanted to be her friend, and be there with her on Saint Street. The “family” of secondary characters are truly the people everyone needs in their life. This book was definitely a feel good story, which was just what I needed this week, but it was also inspirational, sweet, and funny. It left me wanting more from all of the characters (can’t wait for the next book) and also left me with such a desire to head to London. Scarlett’s writing is seamless and beautiful. Her passion for writing shines through with her words.

First off I would like to say that this is my first book I have read by Scarlett Hopper and it will not be the last. I started the book in the morning and the next morning I finished it because I could not put it down. The story dragged me in and kept me there and I could not get enough. Stana is just living her life one day at a time. She would be considered more of a follower than a leader. After going through school and graduating she decides she is going to move from Los Angeles to London. Scarlett Hopper is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her books are so good. She is an excellent writer with well developed characters. Saint Street pulls you in and doesn't let go until the end. It is the story of Stana and her taking a leap to find herself and moving to London. While there she finds herself, her passion, her love, and her family. The journey for Stana to find herself rings true and has some amazingly poignant insights into life and relationships. Saint street, don’t let the title fool you, it’s not all angels and halo’s :) it’s a tornado of emotions and happenings wrapped up into words on a page that will make you both love and despise some characters equally. Hoping for a book two to see if what I think is going to play out actually happens!

Within them, she falls for Ali, the owner of a local bar Saint Street and band member. Stana comes to London looking for freedom. For her whole life, she’s been in the shadows of everyone and never made her own decisions. The author has an amazing skill through all her novels in creating characters with meaningful backstories before jumping into the main romance. For Stana’s story, being with Ali is just as important as her friendship with his sister and the rest of the group, for all of them has helped give her the power to stand up to the people in her life that hold her back. London was transforming for Stana. As always, the author created a group of secondary characters that provide just as much to the story as Stana. Emelia, Ali’s sister, and the rest of his band each come with their own stories and personalities that differ from one another. (This is hard to find in novels). Emilia has her own brewing romance in the back of this book which will be the plot for the second book, so I am very excited for that. Overall, great read, great characters, great romance, and just a feel-good romance for when you need a pick-me-up and inspiration to have the courage to make positive changes in your life.

Saint Street isn't your run of the mill romance, nope, it's more of a poignant journey of a young woman with the courage to leave everything behind to start over in a new country. Fate definitely steps in to help her when she meets brother & sister, Alistair & Emilie Ronan. They start to teach her that family isn't always blood as they all get closer. And it's just what the doctor ordered for Stana, whose feelings actually washed over me, making me feel like I was on the journey with her. She & Ali get closer, as they have a strong connection which they decide to explore. And please understand, I'm not saying that Stana still didn't go through some fire, I mean, it's life, so there are twists to get the f-bombs dropping. And Scarlett Hopper penned a story which screamed realistic in my opinion so things go a bit sideways. I'm keeping this review short & sweet, as I truly believe you will get so much more out of Saint Street going in blind, so get to one clicking. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The book alluded to some huge trauma, causing her to throw up walls, pack up her bags, and leave life in the US. The problem I had with this is there was no significant trauma. Not to downplay someone's life experiences, we all handle life a little differently. But I hardly consider traveling parents and a child hood friend who is a pain to be the basis of trauma for a story line. A few other things I had problems with: - I kept reading Stana as Santa. Dyslexia at it's finest. - Ali sounds like a 40 year old bar keep with his outlook on life - The "big fight" between Stana and Ali was lack luster - We talk about London like a tourist book, name dropping places to make it extra.. British? - I really struggled with the whole commentary about Stana buying cookies at Tesco. I think this was to describe that Stana was curvy and had every day thoughts like every other girl of "I shouldn't eat this?" Anyway. It was a sweet love story, not exactly thrilling, but if you're looking for a book that gives hope of a "fall in love at first sight and everything is good" story, this one's for you.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. This book is about a woman who leaves her life and family in California to move to London and start a new life. My major complaint about the book is that the blurb led me to believe that she was leaving some major trauma or event and yet when it is revealed why she left, it was, to me, a "first world problem."
