Quite frankly, i read most of the Clique series while I was in fifth and sixth grade. I could read two books in one night! I was obsessed with the books, and now that i look back on it, i have no clue as to WHY! At the time it was very entertaing to read about the girls' lavish lifestyles and at the time i thought that Massie's signature insults (ex. Did i invite you to my BBQ? Uhh...No? Then why are you up in my grill? -all of the girls would start to snicker-) were funny. I looked forward to hearing what she said. BUt now as an 8th grader and having a different outlook on things, i think that Massie is obnoxious and stupid. Also, the constant use of Ehmagawd! started to get on my nerves even when i was obsessed with the books. As the series went on, the girls started to get really interested in the guys at the brother-school. (I'm going off of memory here :D )Anyhoo... the girls would always talk about lip-kissing the boys. Seriously, lip-kissing. that's what they called it. Did you lip-kiss him Claire? Honestly, if you're going to say something as immature as li-kiss to describe kissing a guy, then you have no business getting all up in his personal space. WTH? that always pissed me off. Lip-kiss. I felt ashamed for reading such nonsense! For girls so high and mighty, they had the vocabulary of air-headed fourth graders. (No offense to you 4th graders! You're still cute honey!)I can't wait to lip-kiss him! as opposed to what? Nose-kissing? Cheek-kissing? Ear-kissing? Yeah, i don't think so. *Big Sigh* Claire was an interesting character. I sure did get tired of her talking about Gummy Feet. Although, it was kinda sorta cute how Cam would always give her a bag. And then again, does he want her to die from clogged arteries or whatever you die from from consuming too much damn sugar? Moving on, Claire actually grew up which i was more that proud of. She started to stick up for herself, and the first time she did stick up for herself i shouted AMEN! Massie gives me a headache. Her followers give me a headache. Everyone that looks up to her gives me a headache. She is just too controlling! and she's very unrealistic and hard to relate to. How many thirteen year olds do you know that wear Prada and have a fresh manicure every time you see them? I can't think of any but hey maybe it's because I go to a public school and fall under the upper- middle class part of society. I'm a no bullshit type of person so if i ever was in her clique, i wouldn't have been in it for long. Something else that got annoying was how in every other book, The Cliques friendship was falling apart. Really who cares? It's not the end of the world. Honestly! The girls spend their time obsessing over the stupidest shit! What's sad is that Lisi Harrison's talent is pretty much wasted and flushed down the toilet in these bitchy, pre-teen novels of hers. Hmm... What else is there? What was good about the story was how Lisi described the character's surroundings. I wasn't left confused like i normally am nowadays as i read scenery descriptions from Young Adult books. And thank God Lisi didn't talk about how you could see to so and so's heart by looking into their eyes or how by looking into their eyes you could tell that they really wanted a cheesebuger. I've read some pretty messed up stuff, so for the most part that was refreshing. Sorry for my bad words- I'm a secret potty mouth!- i just thought that they were necessary to correctly portray how upset these stories make me. ANd sorry if it's kind of all over the place. It's hard to stay on topic when you're ranting about things that upset you. You just get so caught up you know? Read 'em if you want but i wouldn't :)

Up until now Massie, Alicia, Dylan, Kristen, and Claire have always been together and best of friends. But now we’re at like the climax of the entire Clique series, Massie disperses the Pretty Committee and now all 5 friends have split apart too. Alicia moves on by making her own crew where she is now the alpha, called the Soul-M8s, but soon Alicia will come to realize how hard it really is being an alpha as things begin to lose control. Kristen who was suppose to help Massie get her crush, Dempsey , to like her , but ended up falling for him instead, and finds out that the feeling was mutual! This leads to Massie feeling betrayed and kicking Kristen out. Kristen feels guilty of course and tries to win Massie back, but will it work? Or will Kristen give up trying? Massie feeling more alone than ever, decides to ‘hire’ herself some new friends. But even though her new friends are beautiful, they couldn’t be more dull and clueless. Massie soon comes to realize that friends can’t be bought with money and that she really misses everyone who she can not just replace. But will they come back to her? Or will her pride get in the way? And Dylan is just happy that she has someone who finally likes her back, while Claire is stuck in the middle of all this chaos wishing everything was back to normal. When Alicia offers Claire to join Soul-M8s she doesn’t know what to reply back because Massie has also offered Claire to join her new group of friends too! So who will Claire join? Who will she end up betraying, Alicia or Massie? Or will she choose none of the above? I had a great time reading this book because the story so far in this series has always been with everyone getting along, together, and happy, but now the story has completely turned in a different direction. I could really see how the character’s feelings changed from hating one another, then feeling regretful, and finally really missing one another. It really shows how strong their friendship is. And also like always Lisi Harrison is always capable of portraying the mind of a typical teenager which makes it a lot easier for me to empathize with the characters. Anyone who likes The Clique series should definitely continue by reading this book as well. Or any fan of Lisi Harrison’s books. Because this book is definitely an enjoyable read and that will keep you reading from the beginning all the way to the end. You might like it so much that you could finish all 263 pages within one day, like I did! I would highly recommend you to go and get Boys R Us by Lisi Harrison.

Lisi Harrison’s Boys R Us pushes these problems on the Pretty Committee and shows how they deal. This book was fun to read and very easy to relate to. Boys R Us tales place after Massie Block disbands her clique the Pretty Committee. Much to her surprise, the other members Kristen, Alicia, and Dylan are quick to leave. Clare, however, hates to see her friends torn apart, so she decides to stay neutral. Alicia, the old “beta” of the Pretty Committee, sees endless possibilities. Since Massie was the only girl without a beau, she insisted that the other girls ditch boys. Without Massie as their alpha, the girls can do whatever they want. Alicia starts a new clique called the Soul M-8s, the first boy-girl clique in the history of the school. Massie decides to take charge and start her own dominant clique that she calls MAC, or Massie And Crew. Too bad everyone has heard of Massie’s over-controlling tendencies because no one is jumping at the chance to join. Instead, Massie hires gorgeous but brainless models to play her new friends. Can the girls get over their problems to come back together as the Pretty Committee once more? After reading the book, I determined that the theme for this book is the same as that of the other books in the Clique Series. That is that being popular or having the best clothes, best looking friends, or best boyfriend is not important. Instead, the most important is to have good friends that really care about you. Lisi Harrison writes this book from the point of view of all five members of the Pretty Committee. She writes in a very easy to read way that sounds like what a teenager would think or say. Some passages include text conversations, IM conversations, notes, or written lists. These different styles add variety to the book. The main characters in the book are very easy to imagine. They are well described. I can even see characteristics of myself, my friends, or other people I know in them. It is interesting to see how the characters act in different situations. For example, at school, Massie is a confident alpha with impeccable style. When she’s at home or with her friends, she is insecure. Each character has different characteristics that sum up what they are all about. The setting of Boys R Us is New York. Each scene is described to that the reader can clearly see what the characters see. Lisi Harrison describes everything, including what each girl is wearing, in great detail. Because of the characters, Boys R Us is very easy to connect to. Any teenaged girl can relate to the problems that the Pretty Committee goes through. The characters think and feel like we do when put in situations, and even though we may not live lives like theirs, we can imagine how we would respond. As always, I loved this book. I say as always because I really like all of the books in the Clique Series. They are easy to read, but they are still entertaining. I would recommend this book for every teenage girl. 320 Pages

This book was okay. It wasn't the best Clique book, the plot was almost identical to "Revenge Of The Wannabes," except Kristen and Dylan hated Massie and were a part of Alicia's clique this time. I felt bad for Claire because she was stuck in the middle. Sometimes I wonder why she is friends with them anyway, she is more down-to-earth and she doesn't just care about designer clothes and money. But anyways, I can't believe Massie was desperate enough to (view spoiler)[hire friends (hide spoiler)] . Massie is always trying to act calm and confident and not act desperate and needy for friends but this book shows just how badly she wants someone to hang around with her. I kind of feel bad for her to a certain extent, but if she wasn't so snobby and selfish all the time, her real friends wouldn't have left her and she would have more people at her school to choose from, but they pretty much are scared of her, they only "admire" her because they are scared they will have to face her wrath if they don't, which is stupid. Anyway, this book was really predictable, I knew the Clique would (view spoiler)[reunite (hide spoiler)] in the end, and all of the things they did to try and outshine each other was kind of stupid and pointless. And I didn't like the way Alicia acted in this book, she already knew from the beginning she didn't really have what it takes to be an alpha, but she did it anyway, I think she should have just stuck with being a beta. Actually, now that I think about it, this whole "alpha" and "beta" thing is stupid and pointless. Why can't they just be a normal group of friends and not control each other and back stab each other? They can still be a Clique without all that stuff. I doubt there is anyone in real life who walks around with their friends saying "I'm the alpha so you have to listen to me!" I doubt anyone does stuff like that unless they are trying to copy the Clique. Anyway, I know this review is kind of long and rambles on, but I just wanted to get my point across. Overall it was an okay book, but not the best.

The descriptions of the characters, clothing, and parties were great in that they were specific images and detailed helping to visualize everything better. I’m glad Massie got a new crush, I felt bad that she thought he ran out on her. I hope he doesn’t. The soul M8s were an interesting group with interesting hang events, but I knew they wouldn’t quite workout the same. I’m ecstatic the PC has been reunited.

But it wasn't until my best friends started reading them that I thought "man, they might not be that bad after all". So I went to the school library and checked out the book that started it all, The Clique, and I have been hooked ever since. Lisi Harrison is a young writer, so she understands how young people speak and act. She writes in a way that is easy to understand and follow. It is not babyish but it is not "Gone With the Wind". When the characters talk to each other it's like they are actually having a conversation. The words are not forced, it's like they flow effortlessly for the author. When the characters are having a conversation over the phone, IM, or texting Harrison writes in a way that looks like a text, or an an IM. If its a text message it looks exactly like cell phone or if its over the phone she writes the main character in regular font and the person on the other end in italics. I really liked how funny this book was. Not so much a what the characters say, it's how they say it. For example: the way they talk to and act towards boys is hilarious! The girls are so scared and so shy that when they talk to the boys, the girls end up saying... not smart, i guess you could say, things and it's super funny! So, as you can hopefully see I liked this book very much. It was written well, had good sentence structure, and was just overall great! I will continue to read other books by this author, not just in this series but others as well :).

It's always hard to choose between your friends, because you love them all. And you don't want either group being upset or mad at you for hanging out or being friends with the other.

Kristen stole the one boy she liked and she only had Claire. Now she wants to show her ex-bffs that she's doing way better without them. So she hires actresses to pretend to be her bffs and show the girls that they don't know what they're missing. Few problems there. One is that Layne Abley the "LBR" has to be in the group and go to all the sleepovers. Second problem there were rules that went with the girls that Massie doesn't exactly listen to. So the girls quit from unfair treatment and Massie is left without a clique. Or so we think. In the end the girls make up and its a new beginning with the NPC.

With the boys moving back to their old but wickedly improved school, the girls can't help but be miserable without them. Luckily, Alicia has a few events planned. Can her events top Massie's previous ones? And will Massie take this new group lying down, or does the premiere alpha have something huge up her sleeve that will guarantee her status once and for all? BOYS R US is the eleventh installment in the deliciously addicting CLIQUE series. I love the covers and the titles of these books. The drama between the former friends adds yet another layer to the girls.

It was "obv" that Alicia was only made to be a beta, and Massie to be an Alpha. I just think it's weird that Massie hired friends rather than picking someone out from OCD! She could have done that easily! Isn't everyone supposed to worship her, or is that just because of the Pretty Committee? And what's up with Massie and Layne getting all mad at Kristen? I mean, I know Massie is SUPPOSED to be mean, but she has enough common sense to know that that was a stupid reason to get mad at her. THEN, the actors pretended to be Massie's friend and to be so unfashionable, which would make her want her old friends back. But, how did Claire KNOW that that was going to happen? I mean, Dylan, Kristen, and Alicia just randomly appologized! Well, I think the book was a little TOO planned out, but it was good.

Boys "R" Us is about Massie's cheerleading group, the Socc-Hers. Massie forms it when her new crush, Dempsey Solomon, takes Derrington's spot as the star goalie, Massie does that to impress him. But, when Alicia says that she's a better dancer, she forms her own group, the Hart-Nets. A big conflict goes on, and the PC is basically falling a the way apart. Then, Alicia forms her own boy-girl clique, the Soul M8s. This makes Claire decide that she's neutral between the battles of the cliques. I like this book because it shows that Massie Block is the true alpha. Now, Alicia knows that she obviously can't handle boy-girl cliques, and party pressure. Every clique book has a sweet part somewhere in it, and those are my favorite parts, along with the battle parts where Massie wins.

Massie and the Pc are over, but that doesn't mean that Alicia Rivera cant start her own clique. All the girl from the PC and their boyfriends are now known as the new clique in Girl/Boy OCD. Massie and her GLU are way over and she is starting to find a new Clique. I can make a text to world connection. When you are in 8th grade the cliques start to mix, the popular people mix with the losers and some of the nerds go to skater. Some go from a big friendly clique to only themselves. I would reccomed this book to anyone who read Private Series or the Gossip Girl Series.

The themes in this book was friendship, jealousy, and betrayal. Even though some of them might have been exaggerated in the book, it just makes it so much more clear. Overall this book was pretty good, it had an interesting plot and I think that anyone my age would like it.

The conflict of the story is Claire Lyons, Massie's best friend, is trying to get the Pretty Committee back together for good. Massie Block, the main character, is always a static character. It only leads to betrayal and causing yourself to do ignorant things.

Boys R Us by Lisi Harrison is a realistic fiction book that has 263 pages. This book is the 11th book of the series The Clique. I liked this book because it had a lot of figurative language such as metaphors and lots of similes. This kept me engaged with the book. She has resorted to HIRING people to act as her friends. If anyone ever finds out...

Ummm this book was interesting to say the least. I didn't have a book one day in English and have no IReadys to do so I decided to read this. There are these girls and they had a fight and suddenly they abandon one of them. So to make them jealous she goes out and buys friends because what else would you do in that situation and then she shows off her new "friends" and pretends they are actually her new friends. It's a very complicated book and it makes a lot of references to the first 10 books. Ummm this book was interesting to say the least. I would not recommend this book to anyone because I thought it was very bad.

This book was really action packed and interesting. Left me wanting more every time I put the book down. When the Pretty Committee goes under, Massie forms a new clique called the Massie and Crew. She may not like anyone at her school enough to even use them but with her dad's fat wallet it's not like money isn't an option. So Massie goes ahead and buys some friends...or should I say actresses willing to idolize Massie for money. This book was really action packed and interesting. Ha, ha. When reading these books, you got to realize that it's about really rich kids, and that some things are a little off from how we do things. But, it was really good. I like all the talk about fashion throughout the books, and the multiple plots that take place in one book. Ha, ha. When I read the book before this one and read about the breakup of the Pretty Committee, I thought the next book wouldn't be so interesting with the main characters fighting, but this book is a real page turner and believe it or not actually has a happy ending.
