I was excited to finally see a 2nd Spell on Wheels story. Unfortunately, this wasn't as strong as the first volume. The story is lacking. There's lots of meaningless filler that should have been used for character growth instead. The girls are travelling across the country in search of a witch that Claire and Jolene have some kind of connection too. It all feels very rushed as they don't actually meet Annabelle until the last issue. Received a review copy from Dark Horse and Edelweiss. The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. 3.25/5 Stars This second volume was definitely better than the first one. The storyline was interesting and fun, I was curious to see what was about to go down with Annabelle, a witch who's causing quite a lot of problems, especially to Claire, who keeps having visions about her. Also, I really enjoyed how the friendship of the girls got better in this volume, I feel like they are a true coven now. Volume two of Spell on Wheels felt a bit more rushed than the previous volume and the ending was a little anticlimactic. It wrapped up way too easily and too fast in my opinion. Still, I enjoy reading about this coven of modern day witches and their cross-country journeys.

This was such a fantastic witchy read that kind of reminded me of my favroite TV Show Charmed. I loved all three female characters and their strong friendship. The road trip was fun but I feel like the first volume had more going on with the plot. Theres not many stops where we get to meet new characters. We pretty much spend the entire volume tracking down a new witch who is possessing one of them which was interesting but I would have liked a bit more from the story. It was great to see the Andy, Claire, and Jolene again, and wonderful to revisit the world....but ultimately the story felt kind of rushed and I truly would have loved a bit more depth. I am a sucker for friendship stories though, and the friction between the characters as they were trying to figure themselves out was great, if trope-y in moments, but in ways that worked for the most part, but would have been better with more time and pages.

So, I'll be honest, I didn't like this volume quite as much as the first one. That said... I still really, really enjoyed it. And I'm eagerly looking forward to more! I can't wait to see what happens next. So, I'll be honest, I didn't like this volume quite as much as the first one. That said... I still really, really enjoyed it. [3.5 stars] Not as strong as the first volume, but three witchy friends on a road trip is always guaranteed to be a good time. I would 100% read a third volume, fingers crossed that more are coming!

Thank you to Random House via Edelweiss for approving my request for Spell on Wheels, Vol. 2: Just to Get to You. While scrolling through Edelweiss after over a year of inactivity, I found the second volume to one of my favorite Graphic Novels: Spell on Wheels. For some reason, I didn't think there would be any more bind ups for Spell on Wheels. That's what I get for not keeping up with comics. Anyway- how I loved this volume! First of all, the color pallet??!! Honestly, it was perfect. I honestly Thank you to Random House via Edelweiss for approving my request for Spell on Wheels, Vol. 2: Just to Get to You. First of all, the color pallet??!! Honestly, it was perfect. I honestly gave me Goosebump title and cover vibes, but brighter. Second, the characters, I still love them. The thing I disliked was that Andy had to basically 'prove' herself in order to be seen as one of them. It bothers me because she is the Black one in the group. May be reading too much into it- but yeah. Third, I honestly enjoyed the plot line. This mysterious connection that Claire has with this unknown woman basically across the country kept me guessing- especially for Jo (who is my literal fictional crush. Could the author/illustrator make me into a character in the next volume and have me be her partner? k,thnx!) All in all, I'm so happy that I finally got to see these three women together just being bad ass witches and I will miss them entirely too much. Until next time.

In this installment of Spell on Wheels, the girls travel westward in search of a mysterious witch named Annabelle who has been possessing Claire. This volume is more Jolene-centric, and while I appreciate the character, I was not onboard with her frequently morally dubious decision making. I also wished that there was more world-building this time around, especially when it came to the actual magic. Still, I was excited to rejoin my favorite stylish road tripping witches, especially for the beig In this installment of Spell on Wheels, the girls travel westward in search of a mysterious witch named Annabelle who has been possessing Claire. I’m hoping that the next installment will focus on Andy, and I’m very interested to see if a minor cliffhanger gets revisited. Will definitely keep reading the series!

Gorgeous art, but I was very disappointed in the story line. It felt very disjointed and confusing. I didn't get a resolution and am still unclear about the plot? The character development was also lacking like I just couldn't see the characters doing or saying what they did especially with the intergroup conflict. I did not feel like it was a continuation of volume 1 but it's own stand-alone and that was a bummer too since I really loved the first. Rounded up from a 2.5 I don't recommend it and Gorgeous art, but I was very disappointed in the story line. It felt very disjointed and confusing. My first graphic novel in a long time, and I really enjoyed it! I haven't read vol. 1, but it was pretty easy to pick up and understand the story. The characters were wonderful, and I definitely want to read more books in this series just to see more of how these three women grow together. I was surprised that I got to know each of the characters so well in such a short story framework. This is definitely an easy fun read if you need a little pick-me-up. I would like to thank edelweiss and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I read the first volume and enjoyed it so was happy to see the second volume. It’s a good continuation of the story and we find out more about the three main characters. Overall a good read and will look for volume three.

It has been WAY too long since Volume One and if you don't have Volume One still, you're a bit lost. I still liked the little story that was in the comic and the artwork, but without Volume One to reread to fully understand everything, it just didn't pan out for me. ARC via Edelweiss. This was... okay... but the characterization felt all over the map. In a lot of scenes the girls seemed like high schoolers.
