A wonderful collection of poems! Nice cover on this slim volume containing ninety-five pages of writing with the uncontrolled Pen Poetry inside. I noted the storytelling and the visual uses of words linked together to bring lyrical sounds forth when reading these out loud. Honestly I find poetry to be a fun way to tell stories. Poetry has the ability to allow another heart to transfuse yours, and thats what I have always loved about it. Darrick have compiled a great collection of classic rhyming poems, poems about relationships, poems to get you motivated, which speaks to a whole vast of people. The book is basically broken up into three sections, writers of words, sex in the city and tales of poetry. My favorite poems, includes "The Confessional" and “Another Day” Honestly I find poetry to be a fun way to tell stories. Purchase this book, and fall into a beautiful world, that shine with a soft rhythmic light through Darrick's crystalline lens and words. Darrick, I just wanted to say, how I truly enjoy reading your book of poems! Thank you so much.

Darrick Williams writes with incredible passion...his poems tell of very deep, likely personal life moments, however, as a reader not acquainted with the author I found it hard to feel a rhythm as I read. The end of the book seemed to be more compelling than the shorter poems in the beginning, these longer prose were more touching and relatable as shared human experiences that have been portrayed in other media such as novels, music, and movies...especially "Peter Allen"... The "Sex in the City" collection was not as powerful in my opinion, but obviously Mr. Williams has put himself in his work, and that is always admirable. I received this book free from Goodreads First Reads.

I enjoyed reading the different varieties of poems that diffused through the pages of this book. For example, some of the poems were rather light-hearted and had a "feel good" sense to them, while others were far darker and allowed the reader to travel down the bunny hole. Some of the rhythm was a little different than I am used to, but as far as poetry is concerned, I have always believed that it is a beautiful form of expression and that the author can write it however they want and it is perf I enjoyed reading the different varieties of poems that diffused through the pages of this book. The best poetry I have read in a very long time. Free flowing, saying what needs to be said, in the way it needs to be said. Very relevant to current events in the world around us today.
