Very exciting western masterpiece by Mr. Powell, who does an excellent job of defining the realistic old American frontier. Ernest, and his compatriots, certainly goes above and beyond in their quest to right so many wrongs by Ulysses, and his gang of cut throats, that will appease anyone's desired expectations. Plenty of suspenseful moments throughout this compelling western masterpiece, and enough gunfights to maintain anyone's attention from beginning to end. Some of the most compelling storylines I have ever had the pleasure to read, and the character selections were perfectly selected for their assigned roles. The camaraderie of Ernest, and the good guys, is unbelievably outstanding compassionately throughout the entire story. Without hesitation, I definitely recommend this outstanding story, and series, to all of you hearty western followers, as the suspenseful episodes throughout the entire book will certainly maintain your undivided attention from beginning to end. You non-western enthusiasts will definitely enjoy this compelling and compassionate masterpiece. To not read this outstanding series will certainly be your loss.😤

This man Ulysses Wells has murdered anyone who stands in his way. He's a woman beater and the fool wants to marry his cousin, Clementine. Loads of fights, lost of lives just another hot mess. It just goes to show that you have to be ready to fight and protect what is yours.lots of back biting, spying and farms destroyed by arson. Head of house murdered trying to protect their families. It just never ends, it's like a water fall that's beautiful to look at, but what's hiding in that cave covered by the falls? Is it a horse snort or what?!

A decent read Was a little disappointed, I feel the rest of the Wasson family would have came for Ernests wedding. Continually said he didn't have family but the Wassons had been his family, especially Mollie. You can guarentee that in a Joseph Powell book there will always be a young girl being beaten and raped or nearly raped, lots of violence towards women. Also the good guys always duck out of the way of a speeding bullet, is that always possible? Or the bullet just buzzes their cheek. Good yarn but not true to the period! ***Editing was poor. Words were in correct. Author doesn't know they didn't bale bay then. It became popular in the 1950's. They winter grazed or if they had any it was loose hay which is forked. The author uses shotguns and rifles like they are same gun. The character has a shotgun and the next minute he shot a rifle. I have read five books and it is always the same, lots of mistakes and mix characterizations. Story line is fair to good but this no Louis L' Good yarn but not true to the period! ***Editing was poor. Words were in correct. Author doesn't know they didn't bale bay then. Ernest never met an outlaw like Ulysses Hill before and it will take all he's got to take this villain down. Ulysses Hill wants all the territory around his ranch and he's willing to do anything to get it, even kill family. This story is full of action, suspense and graphic shootouts that take you fully into the old West and the kind of life and horror of no holds barred gun fights! If you like all out Westerns.. try this one. I was gifted a copy, no review was required. My review is voluntary. A poker player, a dad, a daughter and a new sheriff. What do all of these people have in common ?? A western romance that keeps you wondering what's next. Who to trust ? I love western and this book does not disappoint . Friendships made that will last a lifetime. Gun fights , kidnapped and romance. Hard work and playing , dancing in the moonlight, and helping each other in times of grief . A must read L A poker player, a dad, a daughter and a new sheriff. SAD Has a very unsatisfactory ending that turns out not be the ending but the introduction of the same story with a change. Then part way they that another change. I had stopped reading before that and wrote it off as a loss. My first read from this author and my last. Just finish the book with out all the bull. Was a fair read until that point. This is the first negative review I have ever written. I read over 45 books this year all westerns.

A JP. Western Adventure (TTRW. - AWFF.) JP. has. penned a western adventure that has a very hostile man who runs a large gang and a mood for vengence against his own family. He will go to any lengths to get his revenge including rustling and murder. The family has a few members who are willing to fight, but are gradually being ground down themselves. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

This is the story of Ernest and Clementine. There are other main characters in this book as an ongoing story. There is a lot of action in this story, which I've come to expect from this author's books. There is also suspense, anticipation, betrayal, revenge and love. It well holds the interest of the reader. It is another well written book by Joseph Powell. There is a slight cliffhanger at the end for one of the main characters. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Action packed with bullets flying and a side order of romance. From the start of the story to the end there is something going on that you can't stop reading because you don't want to miss anything. You feel like you are there and needing to duck to avoid the shooting. A great story to go along with the previous stories. You should read the others as well. Lots of action, and lots of sadness Ernest got sidetracked while going west. He saved a beautiful woman from marrying a monster. He and a small group of men cleared out a bunch of killers.

When The Bullets Fall This was a really intense story. As most western go This one is really different as it never lets up in the twists and turns and downright cruelty. Some may not like this aspect but it fits in.

No sand! Plenty of action but the central doubts himself about killing his foe! A person who has men, women, and children killed for his gain of land should have been put down like a rabid dog ASAP!!! Not a good story!

I loved the story! Wow! Ernest is a great lead character and Clementine is such a brave and strong woman. The story kept me interested all the way through! Of course, I hated the bad guys and loved their endings.
