I read this book as part of a summer reading program at our library where we had to read a cookbook, make a recipe and take a picture and post it to the site. I love all things Laura Ingalls, and these recipes are easy for kids and fun to try. Then you can have a snack and read more Laura books. My daughter made the oatmeal and read this book for her challenge.

I love cookbooks and this is a walk through memory lane. It is suited for little children and the recipes are right from the books Laura wrote. It is a fun read and its simple manner pulls the heart towards simpler things!

My daughter loved seeing how cooking was done in pioneer times with the little stock and supplies available then.

The Little House book series was one of my favorites that I read with my children. It certainly would add to the experience using some of these recipes together.
