This first book in a new series by Nic Saint is the most hilarious cozy murder mystery I have ever read. The Kelly family, comprised of Tom an economics professor, his wife Dee, a typical teenage daughter, Maya who seems oblivious to everything except her phone, her almost teenage brother, Scott age 12, baby Jacob and a Labradoodle named Ralph. With the siblings at bickering and teasing level and a blizzard snow storm, Tom is bound and determined to get them home from their Thanksgiving visit to This first book in a new series by Nic Saint is the most hilarious cozy murder mystery I have ever read. The Kelly family, comprised of Tom an economics professor, his wife Dee, a typical teenage daughter, Maya who seems oblivious to everything except her phone, her almost teenage brother, Scott age 12, baby Jacob and a Labradoodle named Ralph. With the siblings at bickering and teasing level and a blizzard snow storm, Tom is bound and determined to get them home from their Thanksgiving visit to the grandparents. Finally, having to pull over into what seems to be a class B hotel and getting one of the last rooms for all of them to stay together in, we have a very unhappy family having to hunker down together to wait out the blizzard which is supposed to last for days. When Scott takes Ralph out for one of his bathroom excursions, and he digs up a famous dead body, crazy things happen. When Scott tell the hotel manager his father is a famous criminology professor, the hotel manager begs him to investigate since the murderer had to be still among them. With lots of crazy characters who all could be suspects, the entire family. including Ralphie the dog, takes the investigation on. I never laughed so hard on almost every page at the methods and events that happen. This is a great first book to one of a very promising and entertaining mystery series. I can't wait to see what the Kelly family gets themselves into next!

The blind leading the blind A good read. Okay the plot was okay and the sleuthing so, so but the characters were terrific. Down to earth, vibrant and real thus making the story. A sudden snowstorm has the family heading for the nearest motel (well once they convinced the father driving). All they can get is one room for the parents, two teenagers and a baby - oh mustn't forget the dog. When the dog has to go out, his young master takes him. All they can get is one room for the parents, two teenagers and a baby - oh mustn't forget the dog. When the dog has to go out, his young master takes him. Unfortunately the dog finds a buried body - a man known as the Hot Gangster. He has been stabbed and it looks as if he has been pushed out of the window. Add in an ex-wife, a new fiancee, a dodgy baseball card deal, a knife that goes missing plus our family being involved as crackerjack criminologists. As the manager has been told that the father wasn't a Professor of Economics but Criminology. Watch as they bumble their way from one suspect and motive to another. Will they find the clue that breaks this case wide open or will an innocent person be accused?

Good Read Interesting setting as the story tells of a family stranded due to snow. They are fortunate to get a room at the only hotel around. Lots of humor in the story.

Good book This is a fast read and a very good book. Very clean. Yes there is a murder but the language is good and it's easy to read. Good book This is a fast read and a very good book. Very clean. Yes there is a murder but the language is good and it's easy to read.
