Two years before Olive encounters the Dreamthief, she’s working in Boston to create her mirror box, which she’ll use to diagnose her patients. But when she tests it, she’s transported to another place—an unknown world that is neither Earth nor Faythander. They are tracking a magical beast that has been stalking their people, and following them may mean Olive will return to earth—but if she does, she’ll lose all her memories… Dreamthief (Fairy World MD #1) Forget the fairies and unicorns, most people return from fairy world with lost memories and mental problems. Olive Kennedy knows. She's the therapist who treats patients suffering from Faythander's side effects. Traveling back to the fairy realm wasn't on Olive's to-do list. But she has no choice. The fate of both Earth and Fairy depends on her ability to stop an ancient being called the Dreamthief. To complicate matters, she may be losing her heart to someone who can't love her in return. Saving the world, she can handle. Falling in love—not so much. Spellweaver (Fairy World MD #2) Olive's to-do list: Pay the rent, feed the cat, and save Faythander. Again. When the fairy realm faces a new, terrifying threat from a goblin Spellweaver, Olive Kennedy leaves her home in Houston to travel through the most dangerous places in Faythander to confront him. Along the way, she learns that history is a muddled subject—especially when elves are involved. Her only comfort comes from Kull, her Viking warrior sidekick—who somehow negates her bad fortune. Yet, how long can their relationship last when his past is brought to light? DREAMTHIEF I started off with really getting into the book, but I felt at times that it was a little long and drawn out when I read it the first time around, and I thought I should read it again and so I did. Yes, there were some drawn out parts but I overlooked them because the action that took place made the book extremely interesting and addicting. I felt that the characters in the story were strong and the story-line was awesome. Like I said, the action did keep me in suspense. Yes, there were some drawn out parts but I overlooked them because the action that took place made the book extremely interesting and addicting. I felt that the characters in the story were strong and the story-line was awesome. Like I said, the action did keep me in suspense. I loved the main character in the story. She was courageous and I was drawn to her straight from the beginning. I absolutely loved how the story started out. As a matter of fact the beginning is what sucked me into this twisted world of Faythander. The other characters in the story were awesome too. I absolutely loved how the character was able to help the patients in the beginning. I laughed, cried, and made me mad at times in this story, like the character could even get a break. I also thought that the story was predictable and I had some of it figured out before I even finished the book. This author did a fantastic job of writing the story all in all and I really want to read it a third time, but I know I need to move on. It is well written and a story I won't forget anytime soon. It is a MUST READ story and I highly recommend it. The author has a mystical and magical way of luring you into the story and keeping you from wanting to put the book down despite the drawn out parts. All in all, it’s a fun read. SPELLWEAVER I fell absolutely in love with book one with the fun and comedy that brought my attention to this author. This book didn't have as much comedy to draw me in but it does have an awesome plot with some surprising twists and turns throughout the story. This book started right off where book one left off and I love how the author can bring these words on the pages alive and keep us on the edge of our seats the entire ride!! Wow, what a wild ride this story was!! The author covered a lot in this book. We found out more about Olive Kennedy in this story and quite a shocker about her.....mother......... There were many original characters along with some new characters. We get to know more about her dad and her love for Kull is stronger than ever in this story. There were moments when I was shocked and in awe at some of the scenes. I really didn't know these shocking events were even coming. You go along reading and BAM you get hit with a shocker and my mouth was left hanging open in horror. It's an amazingly well written story for everybody to enjoy. I highly recommend it. BLOODTHORN This story is by far my favorite one out of this series so far. It's mysterious, magical, and quite the page turner. There were also surprises lurking around every corner too. This book had a lot of suspense, and I loved the power, strength and how courageous Olive became since the beginning of the series and I absolutely loved the new and improved Olive in this story. She showed her fear and yet, learned to not take crap from nobody. Olive actually scared me in this story. I highly recommend this story to all to enjoy. It's full of so much compassion and surprises that it will make keep turning page after page from beginning to end. I am very anxious to read more about Olive and her adventures that I know are yet to come.

None of them remember anything about it though, due to the nature of the situation. As is the case throughout these books, magic plays a major role in things. Book #1, Dreamthief, is perma-free on most major eBook retailers, which is how I came to try it. The plot is a very different and creative take on the fairy realm. The world-building that occurs in this novel is very adept, both in terms of Olive’s personal sphere and the worlds around her at large. It really sets the stage for the following volumes. There’s a lot of mystery, intrigue, suspense and drama, not to mention fantasy creatures (each with their own unique kind of magic), and several diverse personalities to deal with throughout the tales. There’s also a dash of romance, but not nearly as much as I would have preferred. In fact, one of the main things that I disliked about these particular tomes of the series is the extended breakup of two prominent players. The writer truly hones her art as things progress though, telling an ever more involved and intricate tale. There are a lot of twists and turns, and not everything goes the way you would imagine. But it usually comes down to Olive kicking-butt and taking names, while leaving just enough open-ended questions to warrant the next story. [I've actually given a 4-star review to the prequel and Book #1, and only 3-stars to Books #2 & 3. But the latter is more due to my personal feelings about some plot points (mentioned briefly above) more than the quality of the writing or the strength of the stories themselves. So I am rounding this up to a 4, rather than down to a 3.] I received a free eBook copy of this boxed set, and have willingly provided an honest review.

Fairy World M.D. Boxed Set One collects three novels and one short story from the series by Tamara Grantham. The books and short story tell the adventures of Olive, a half-elf, who helps save two worlds numerous times. One good part of the series is that the world building is solid. There is a magical system that is followed as well as the creatures that populate the series. While I didn't like the romance, I really enjoyed the world building. There is a magical system that is followed as well as the creatures that populate the series. While I didn't like the romance, I really enjoyed the world building. Though the world building does have its faults. To use magic you need to discover words. That sounds interesting but the magical words are always so on the nose it's annoying. That was something the author could have had fun playing around with. Another is that the Goblins had the chance to be extremely complicated. Their backstory makes it easy to see why they're seeking revenge and could've left readers wondering if they were really the bad guys or not. Instead the author chooses the easy route and makes them the villains. A final and third problem with the world building is how political marriages work. The book has them merely be an obstacle for Kull and Olive to overcome. Which means that anytime the plot flows easier without a political marriage is the point they suddenly don't matter anymore. Olive and Kull have a romance that is okay at most. Sometimes it's boring and other times I really want them to get together. Maybe as the series continues the romance actually evens out and is fully enjoyable. As of the end of this boxed set, though, I would prefer if she got back together with Brent. I would recommend Fairy World M.D. Boxed Set One to those that are looking for a fantasy with good worldbuilding.

There is something utterly delightful in these books. I don't know it if it the near Shakespearean language of the Wults or the delightful heroine, but I like it! I like it a lot. Olive is a doctor who specializes in people who have seen the magical world but have forgotten it, which causes extreme mental/psychological distress. She is called in when her own godson is trapped in the dreamworld. She needs to find what took him there and needs to get him back. Ms. Grantham has a wonderful talent of downloading her universe without it bogging the story down. The heroine spells out most of the magic and mythology in short burst. We also get any and all background we need in small doses. Ms. Grantham has a phenomenal talent with character creation. Whether it is a dragon or a little boy, she hits the nail on the head with their speech patterns. Continuing the Kenneth Branagh comparison, I could hear Sir Ian McKellan's voicing the Sky King and Ruby Rose would not be out of place to play as Olive. The novels move a decent clip, which resulted in at least one sleepless night of “Just one more chapter”. I recommend this book for a change from the rest of the fairy/faerie realm portal fantasies as well as a break from the current lot of fantasy romances. 5 stars out of 5 https://www.amazon.com/Fairy-World-Ke...

I was completely enthralled with this epic adventure, its stunning, quirky characters, and its dynamic otherworldly plot. There is so much energy in every scene of this fascinating storyline that it's difficult to put the book down. Also, I absolutely loved Olive. Following the ups and downs of Kull and Olive's romance was difficult to read. It was obvious that they were meant to be together. It was also obvious that every situation seemed to force them apart. This bewitching story was a pleasure to read and Kull and Olive's many quests were extraordinary and fascinating; a truly epic journey I wouldn't want to miss. Great, Great, Story!!!!!

K An intriguing premise, crossing between two worlds , half human half elf, a trained doctor, fostered by the Dragon king... But the writing rambles and the characters seem to have multiple personalities, not remaining consistent to any one personality along with dangling hints throughout that are never finished.

Oh my Set in both 2 worlds yet well written. I really enjoyed reading this first set. I found myself fighting along with these people. I cheered for them and wanted to cry for them. I could almost feel the wind in my hair riding on the back of a dragon or taste the magic on my tounge. I cant wait to see how this journey finishes!

This series was a solid read. I enjoyed the protagonist and the other characters and the plot, while somewhat obvious, was solid and the story was interesting.
