I had a good time with this audiobook. This was a nice quick romance that really grabbed me from the very start. I really didn't want to stop listening and couldn't wait to see Jana and Hunter figure things out. This is the eighth book in the Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers series but it read absolutely fine as a stand alone. Addison Cole's books are the sweet with heat versions of some of Melissa Foster's books. This book is the sweeter version of Seaside Embrace and I found that there were still quite a few steamy scenes to keep things interesting. I am glad that I decided to give this book a try. This book starts with a bang! At the start of this book we find Jana and Hunter in a morning after situation. They have hooked up a few times but Jana is in a hurry to get out the door. Jana is a very busy woman. She works as a dance instructor, waitress, and trains as a boxer. Hunter is an artist and makes metal sculptures. Neither Hunter or Jana do relationships. Hunter decides that he wants something more from Jana and makes an effort to be romantic. It was fun watching Jana try to figure out what was going on while Hunter was trying to determine his next move. These two really had a lot of chemistry and seemed perfect for each other. Their personalities meshed almost perfectly. Hunter was so patient with Jana as she worked through some of her issues. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did a great job with the audio. I really liked the fact that this book used dual narrators to tell the story since I think that works best with dual point of view stories. I think that both of the narrators did a great job with the voices of a somewhat large cast of characters and brought a lot of emotion to the story. I wouldn't hesitate to listen to either of these narrators again in the future. I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This was a great romance between two characters that I couldn't wait to watch find their happily ever after with each other. I found this book to have plenty of heat along with some scenes that melted my heart. I cannot wait to read more of Addison Cole's work in the future. I received a copy of this audiobook from the author / publicist. Initial Thoughts I enjoyed this audiobook. Hunter and Jana were great together and I loved watching them try to figure things out. There were a few times that Jana seemed to be almost trying to mess things up but Hunter was patient with her. I think that both of the narrators did a great job with this story and were able to handle a variety of emotions and characters. The only thing that I found a bit confusing on audio was the fact that Jana has a friend named Jenna which was really easy for my old ears to get confused.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine. I have truly come to appreciate these "sweet with heat" books by Addison Cole, and I have to say that she has found a happy medium when crafting these romantic tales. She has found a way to take out the bedroom scenes and any bad language while still telling an engaging story that reminds the hopeless romantics in all of us why falling in love is such a cherished and much-sought-after sensation. In this book, the only criticism I have concerns the heroine, Jana. I truly struggled to like her. She seems rather lost at times, and she certainly doesn't treat Hunter with much respect. I suppose she's lying to herself about how she genuinely feels about him and what she wants from this life. I couldn't believe how patient Hunter was with her. That guy is an absolute keeper, in my opinion! I've never been placed in the position of desiring someone just for an ongoing "booty call," but I know it happens. I am grateful that Addison was able to let us peer into the mind and heart of both Hunter and Jana. And at least by the end, I was feeling a bit kinder towards Jana. So while this wasn't my favorite "Seaside" novel, I can still say it was worth the read and probably included more realism than expected. It is definitely a nice addition to the series, and I look forward to continuing the journey with the characters in "Seaside Summers" whenever I can.

Fear is the driving factor in Hunter and Jana's relationship. Behind closed doors, their attraction takes free reign, but in the real world the risk seems too great of a cost. Embraced at Seaside is a multi-faceted, flawed, courageous and steamy quest into the abyss of love. AudioBook Review: Embraced at Seaside (Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers #8) by Addison Cole (Author), Maxine Mitchell (Narrator), Joe Arden (Narrator) Addison Cole tackles some of realities most emotional moments with her own brand of sweetness and common sense. Embraced at Seaside takes aim at conquering fears. Jana looks like she has control of her life, but is unwilling to let her emotions get in the way of real life. Hunter has just right blend of teddy bear and bulldozer to knock her off her game, but can he force her to make room for him in her heart? The words I know by heart, but Mitchell and Arden took me beyond the words and into the feelings that pack an even more powerful punch.

Addison Cole’s Embraced at Seaside doesn’t follow the typical romantic storyline. The reader quickly learns that the two main characters are friends with benefits. The author creates an honest, relatable story for the characters as they test the commitment and relationship waters. The author descriptive writing style enables the reader to understand the deep emotional connection and the all consuming passion that the couple shares. Loved that Hunter accepted Jana’s challenge to romance her! Their first date watching the sunrise on the beach was perfectly written. …. And so romantic! After reading this scene, I was hoping Jana would relent and date Hunter! The dialogue in the story is fabulous—the author is able to blend in lots of humor into the story while keeping the conversations funny, challenging and honest. I could relate to Jana’s fear of putting herself out there after being hurt so many times. Loved the conversations between Hunter and his friend Clark. Although Hunter was a good friend to Clark during Clark’s separation; he could not understand why Clark would consider walking away his wife and son. This secondary plot was subtly woven into the storyline as Hunter and Jana were feeling their way through their new relationship. I noticed the difference between the two couples. Hunter was determined to be there for Jana while Clark’s commitment to his marriage waivered. Hunter expresses his love for Jana in so many different ways. Jana is muse – she inspired his metal sculpture and challenges him to be a better, stronger man. I liked that Jana was strong willed and yet, very vulnerable. She was afraid to give herself over to love and almost missed her opportunity with Hunter. The last few chapters in the book are emotional, beautifully written and very heartwarming. I cried when Jana finally got it—Hunter loved and accepted her for herself—when she saw his sculpture. Embraced at Seaside is a fabulous read with all the feels. The author keeps the characters true to themselves in this sweet with (hot) heat romance. The relationship between the couple kept me invested in the story. I adored that Hunter accepted Jana’s challenge to romance her. I knew when Hunter looked up How to be Romantic on the internet that Embraced at Seaside was going to be a fabulous read!

I feel like there is a misnomer that if it's clean you have to forgo all the sexy but it's not the truth. This author has a great balance of adding the heat while keeping it sweet. Thanks for taking the time for turning your talents into something I can enjoy.   I am constantly amazed at this author's ability to craft distinctive distinguished characters. I am most appreciative that she wove back in my favorite characters from past books. How she keeps them all straight is incredible. With this many books in, there are a lot of characters, and I am never lost. She makes me super aware of who is who. I'll tell you a secret, I do have my favorites, but I have learned to love all the characters of the sweet with heat series.   I loved that Hunter embodied the idea of chivalry in this story. Towards a character that was not always receptive to it. I love the growth I saw in Hunter inspired by his changing feelings for Jana. Jana put up a fight she's a boxer what do you expect? Watching it all play out had me engrossed. Full Review: Writing Pearls

Embraced At Seaside is one of my favorites in the Seaside series. The way this story started off, I knew the characters were in trouble when it comes to each other, especially Jana. He's loyal to his family, but he can be a major player in his personal life. He's not used to relationships or romance. Jana and Hunter are very similar with their care-free and non-commitment behavior. They often butt heads and get on each others nerves, which I find amusing. Hunter finds Jana to be a challenge. He is willing to pursue a chance of being with Jana. Jana's insecurities about relationships and her past don't make it easy. Hunter's patience and ability to communicate with Jana impressed and pleased me. I couldn't put the book down. I was too curious to see if Hunter and Jana could work it out. He is a bad boy persona-wise but when you discover that he sculpts, that brings in a new aspect to his personality. Together, it's like they are one big ball of fire and with such strong personalities, you begin to wonder if they could ever truly work. Are Hunter and Jana really meant for each other or do they simply fulfill one another through their strengths? I love the sweetness that Addison writes the romance but through this series, I've discovered how she's woven a deep friendship between the characters. It makes me long for friends that were there from the beginning, through the good and bad moments as well as still keeping to the chunky-dunking tradition! Jana and Hunter are opposites in just about every way, except for the fact that they both refuse to commit, and Hunter enjoys his life as a player. But since they got together once neither can get the other out of their head. They've spent the last several months being bed buddies but fighting it every step of the way. If you have read some of my reviews you will already know that I loved most of the books I have read from Melissa Foster. Embraced at seaside is not one of those books unfortunately. He is a great guy and since I never felt like she appreciated him, I can have him and she can have her loneliness. It will be a fair switch. Her past didn't really justify her behavior. I want to see a story with Clark and his wife Nina. Their problems are a big part of this book and I feel like we deserve a story with the two of them as they work things out. It would have helped if we actually saw Nina for a scene or two. The book wasn't that bad. I loved Hunter more than I disliked Jana, so that's something. The rest of the story was good and I liked the author's writing (as I usually do). I would recommend the book.

I loved this book and it's beautifully flawed characters. I have enjoyed all of the other sweet with heat books in this series, but this book spoke to me so much more. I really like these sweet with heat books. They are a great story to sit back a relax with on a weekend. Hunter and Jana think they have a great thing going with the occasional hook up. They are both afraid of commitments, but really are committed without realizing it. When they finally realize they belong together makes everything they went through to get there worth it. I love seeing previous characters from this series and keeping up with them. Another five star story.

Friends with benefits turns into being so much more with this adorable read. I couldn't help but fall in love with Hunter and Jana's story. Commitment is a word neither one of these two understand and it just makes their relationship better. I definitely had my laugh out loud moments and my aww that's sweet moments like I normally do with the wonderful Addison, and I can't wait for more stories of love by the seaside.  Friends with benefits turns into being so much more with this adorable read. Hunter and Jana… they are most definitely my newest favorite couple. They have a love-hate relationship from the start. I must admit it’s that type of relationships that I love reading about. I love reading how a couple’s relationship evolves and changes. This book gave me that and so much more. I am a fan of the way Addison Cole writes, and this book only reinforced that. Seaside is the best place for Summer time. Love, beach and lovely friends are all you need for summer and decompress from everyday time. Jana Garner has more than enough on her plate. Balancing boxing, dancing, acting, teaching, she has no time, literally, for a relationship. Plus a string of bad breakups in the past also aren't making her quick to commit. Which is great because frequent hookup, Hunter Lacroux, is on the same page. In fact, somewhere along the line Jana and Hunter stopped sleeping with other people and have only been seeing each other. As Hunter begins to realize this, he also begins to realize that he doesn't want to be with anyone other than Jana. But will Jana open herself up enough to let another person in again? I really enjoyed the narrator change this time around. I liked that we have both a male and female narrator I think it brings just a little something extra to the audiobook and I really liked that they alternated based on perspective instead of just changing with every chapter. While I will say that Maxine Mitchell did really well with Jana, it took me a bit to get used to Joe Arden voicing Hunter. Just something about the inflection, but by the end I was on board with his narration. I think this is one of my favorites of the series so far. After moving on from the original group of four female friends, I like that we moved out of that circle with the previous two books, but with Jana's story we kind of get pulled back in again. I like getting updates on our favorites characters and getting to witness some beloved shenanigans! It was enough to satisfy but didn't overshadow Jana and Hunter's story. I loved that the book was really on the edge with the whole "sweet with heat" part. Sparks were flying between Jana and Hunter. I think that balance was just right for the story to maintain the sweet aspect, but still offer readers some wonderful heat. I really liked the simplicity of a story about two people who, at the beginning, aren't ready for a relationship, aren't ready for the commitment, but seeing, over the course of the story, how their views change. Sometimes our past influences how we feel about a certain situation and sometimes it's just the timing. It's nothing more or less complicated or difficult than that. I loved how Hunter and Jana work towards a relationship and the slow build of everything. How unsuspectingly the person you want to be with is just there. I've loved how Addison Cole has navigated this series from one couple to the next. Introducing new characters while keeping original characters in the background. I'm thinking we're not done with the Lacroux boys just yet.

Embraced at Seaside is the eighth book in the Sweet With Heat:Seaside Summers Series. Like the seven before it, Addison and her Seaside Girls don’t disappoint! I love that Addison puts in a disclaimer in the note to readers at the beginning the book...”Please note that this is not an inspirational or wholesome read. This is a true, “Sweet with Heat” and Jana and Hunter’s story begins with a large dose of steam.” This shows how Addison remains true to romance, life and to the characters that lead Embraced at Seaside is the eighth book in the Sweet With Heat:Seaside Summers Series. This is a true, “Sweet with Heat” and Jana and Hunter’s story begins with a large dose of steam.” This shows how Addison remains true to romance, life and to the characters that lead her to write their love stories. Jana and Hunter are friends with benefits. Busy people with lives dedicated to their passions, here, dance, teaching dance, acting and boxing. His, art metal sculpture and the ironworking company that he owns with his brother. Hunter has always had a way with women and could have any woman that he wants, the trouble is that he doesn’t want any until his occasional hook up with Jana has him more than hooked. He decides that he has to make her his own and like most modern day men, turns to the internet for ideas on how to make that happen. Jana really enjoys the banter that she has with Hunter. She especially enjoys the sex that seems to happen more often than she had planned. Jana has had a more than her share of bad relationship experiences and is afraid to and doesn’t want to let herself open to another. She focuses on letting her frustrations out in her boxing match preparations, only now Hunter seems to be interfering with those as well. She eventually gives in and challenges Hunter to try and Romance her. Their first real date on the beach at sunrise will make the reader sigh and hope for more. The harder Hunter tries the more emotions get brought out by Jana, both characters are surprised at the deepening and extent of their feelings. Reading farther into this book you will laugh, cry, have all of the chest hurting feels that a love story that is worked really hard for has. The story comes to a head when Jana sees the art that Hunter has created using her as his muse. It truly causes her to realize the depth of his feelings. This book is one of the best that Addison has written, it brings real life romance to life and keeps the readers wanting and wondering how she will top this one! Bravo Addison, I can’t wait for the next!

Jana Garner has me comparing her to Laila Ali or Ronda Rousey. One thing that impressed me is how she has to juggle so much but you can see her passion for what she wants. Before even meeting Hunter LaCroux, you can tell he’s going to be a “bad” boy. Then once you do meet him, you know it’s true. He certainly keeps Jana on her toes. Loved how he put a spin on things instead of taking her at her word. It was fun to watch how Hunter operates. He confuses Jana but also confuses himself. Almost as if he has no choice but doesn’t understand why. This is one more book that had me wishing that I were there. I want to be on that beach watching this group and see the love that they all have for each other. They all support one another and love doing pranks – just because you’re past a certain age doesn’t mean you have to give up on having fun. The author has written a note to her readers and it’s one you should read – yes, I used to be one of those that skipped anything at the beginning just to get to the story. She’ll let you know which book that she recreated. I’m sure it had to be tough because as I was reading this, and with Hunter being such a bad boy, you could see how tough it was for him to hold things in. But it also left me wanting to compare the two just to see if I could figure out how the author was able to accomplish this. I love how she always gets me to laugh and by having the two books I can laugh along with Jana and Hunter twice as much. The perfect triple threat is when you add in the audiobook version. Now that summer is one day closer that just makes this the perfect storm. Sometimes I can’t get to the beach but now that I have a fire pit, I can sit by my fire and read this series from beginning to end. But when you get to the end of this book, you’ll see that our author isn’t done yet because with next month comes the next book. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

There’s more to this story than you think at first. If you’re a Melissa Foster fan you’ve come to expect alpha males with a tender side and smart, sassy females who challenge their heroes on their way to their HEA. But you also get so much more. The “family knows no boundaries” message is there in each book, but it’s presented in an honest way. Jana and Hunter are two souls who connected as “bed buddies” keeping it casual, but Hunter Lacroux finds himself wanting more. More of Jana Garner and it confounds him. Jana’s smart mouth challenges him at every turn, only drawing him in deeper. Jana has herself spread thin with her many obligations and insane schedule, dancer/instructor, boxer, actress and waitress at her brother Colton’s bar, her life is anything but simple. Still, commitment phobic due to several bad relationships she decides she’s never getting involved again, which is why she’s running scared of her own reaction to being with Hunter and only Hunter in the last six months. As Hunter works on a new metal sculpture for a contest he and his brother Grayson are entering, he decides to help friend and co-worker Clark save his marriage. This brought out a side to Hunter that I think surprised even him. He looked up “how to be romantic” in an attempt to help Clark and so begins his own exploration of what it means and how it impacts him as well. As Hunter pursues Jana, she runs fast, but their explosive passion pulls her back. Will Jana allow her fears to end what could possibly be the one true love for her? Or will she trust Hunter and find that real love is worth taking the leap? Of course you get more of the Seaside girls and their men who always add to the story with their antics, insight and laughs. The narrators Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden were new to me and I found they did a great job in both pacing and evoking emotions. Another great audiobook from Addison Cole!

Along the way in their journey are several familiar characters from the series and of course, some chunky-dunking and hilarious pranks. Typically, I find myself madly in love with the characters in this fantastic series by Addison Cole. This time around, I truly liked the characters and their story, but didn’t fall head over heels as I normally do. Let me explain why. Hunter was amazing and actually, I did love everything about him. Jana is the one I struggled with for some reason. Past hurt from relationships sparked Jana’s fear of relationships, but honestly, I found myself frustrated with her character. I understand that there is always some sort of conflict in a romance novel, but I just wanted to smack her several times because despite how fabulous Hunter was, she continued behaving rather selfishly. Jana did soften at times that made me warm up to her more, but overall I just didn’t connect to her the way I usually do with Addison Cole’s characters. With that being said, I still loved this story and this is still one of the most incredible series I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting addicted to. Once again, Addison Cole has driven home the importance of friends, family, and following our dreams – no matter what those dreams are. All of the ladies depicted in this series remind the reader of how strong the bonds of friendship are, and how sometimes those friends become our own chosen family. Moreover, I have come to the conclusion that all men should be required to read her novels because the guys in her books know how to romance a woman!

Addison Cole is so talented in writing these romantic, sweet, and little steamy scenes. Addison Cole is also amazing with her friendships. The Seaside Girls are amazing. They are the best of friends, more like sisters. When push comes to shove these girls will talk about your love life, help you solve the worlds (or Seaside’s) problems, and lift you up when things are tough. These are the type of friends that everyone wants and once you find them you never let go. I am a fan of the Sweet with Heat series. With each book I get introduced to a new story, I get to catch up with my favorites from other books in this series, and I get to fall for a new book crush. This is a series that I look forward to more from, I get excited when I hear a new book is coming soon, and I devour each book as soon as I get my hands on it. Pick up your copy. NOW. Meet these amazing Seaside characters and fall in love with these characters.

With everything going on in her life, the last thing she has time for is men. But for some reason, whenever Jana and all her friends get together, including Hunter, she always ends up going home with Hunter. They start off bickering over just about any topic, but end up tearing up the sheets by the end of the night! Over time, Hunter realizes that Jana is different than anyone else he’s ever known and that his feelings for her are more than just friendship. Jana doesn’t make it easy for him though. She’s so worried about getting in a relationship and having it end badly, that she fights Hunter at every turn. But Hunter doesn’t give up easily. He realizes that what they have is worth fighting for. This was such a great story. The relationships between not only Jana and Hunter, but all their siblings and friends, was sweet, sexy, and a whole lot of sass all rolled into one. I would definitely recommend reading this book. You’ll probably want to read the whole series when you’re done! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

But something is missing and every time Jana wants to go for something she gets scared, so it's just better to leave things as they are…right? By helping her to forfeit her dreams, but it always feels like he takes two steps forward and 10 leaps back. Will under be able to get Jana to see that their future and relationship could be everything they want and that he could help him on the road to her freedom, or will Jana subconsciously sabotage their future? I loved Embraced at Seaside blew me away! It was simple, it was beautiful and heartwarming. I loved the main characters, Hunter and Jana, I empathized with both of their relationship struggles and have past mistakes flash in front of your eyes every time you are scared to make a decision or take a step towards your future. I loved the way Melissa tied in all of the past characters into the book especially Theresa, Bella and the pranks. As normal, the writing and plot are simply divine and totally more-ish! I give Embraced at Seaside 5 stars.
