This is the second book in the Wings of Fire graphic novel series. I don’t have a ton to say about this book. It is a well done graphic novel version of the 2nd full length book in the Wings of Fire series. The illustration is solid and the story is similar to the book. Tsunami journeys to the SeaWings to find her mother, Queen Coral, and learn about her family. However things don’t turn out as she expects. The illustration is colorful, well done, and easy to follow. The dialogue is just as witty and cute as it was in the full length book. I do like the full length book better than these graphic novel versions, however these are a good option for kids who find the full length novels intimidating. This is one of the better book to graphic novel series out there. I think both kids and adults who are fans of the Wings of Fire series will enjoy. Just be aware this doesn’t add anything to the world or story, just repeats it. Overall this is a very well done graphic novel rendition of the second book in the Wings of Fire series. While I wouldn’t seek these out on my own, I will continue to read them as long as my son does. Recommended to fans of the Wings of Fire series, or those who would rather read this series in graphic novel than full length novel format.

The book Wings Of Fire The Lost Heir Graphic Novel by Tui T. Sutherland is about a dragon named tsunami and her friends in a journey. They are looking for a palace. What I liked the most was when the queen asked her lost daughter something, and Tsunami remembered but it was something surprising, if you read the first graphic novel, then you will be really surprised on how it shows the same moment in the second graphic novel. The book has really good pictures and it shows how the text connects to the story. A connection I thought in my head is that if my mom lost me she would have “Ripped The Earth” to find me. I would recommend this book to people who like action, and adventure.

The second volume and this time Tsunami is the main lead! We see her search for her mother, for her home, but does she really want to be home? Her mom is nothing what you may expect, treating people, sorry dragons, in not always the right way. But she gets answers, she gets some love, finds family, and learns a new language. It was at times quite interesting fun to read, but often the worrying and the lots of dialogue was just too much for me and I noticed myself zoning out. Getting a bit bored. If the dialogue was interesting maybe I wouldn't have minded, no wait, I would have still minded but maybe not zoned out so much. The story gets more and more interesting and hairy as things unfold. We have assassins, mysteries, a dragonegg, powers, and more. A lot of things are getting revealed, but there are also enough questions that need to be answered. I guess next up is the Rainwing dragon and the story in the rainforest. The ending was harrowing and I was so worried for everyone. Despite everything, I didn't want to see Tsunami lose her mom again. The art was great!

Fans of the Wings of Fire Series won't want to miss the graphic novels. The colors are bright and the direction of the story is easy to follow. It's very similar to the actual book but I enjoyed reliving the story with vibrant colors to go along with it. Instead, there's someone trying to kill the heirs, which makes Tsunami a target. Thankfully, she has amazing friends who have her back no matter the situation. I would recommend reading the actual book first, but this one is still my favorite in the series. I love that the setting is underwater and I love the humor throughout the book. Actual seeing the characters instead of just reading them makes it that much more of a fun story. It's fast-paced and the tension will have you quickly turning the pages. Final Verdict: I would recommend this to current fans of the Wings of Fire Series, dragons, graphic novels, and action/adventure. It's been a long time since I read the full-length second Wings of Fire book, so I'd pretty much forgotten the whole plot. But this graphic novel did a great job summing it up for me! This story looks great in full-color illustrations, and I do remember this book being one of my favorites of the series (the real novel, that is). My only complaint- and this is a dumb one, too- is that it sort of takes away what I'd imagined the setting to look like. This was a good read. Very good art. However, if I had not read the original book beforehand, I would have enjoyed the book much less. It's like making a rendition into a movie - the movie tends not to be as good as the book, with a few exceptions. (Forrest Gump and The Princess Bride anyone?) Overall enjoyed it Could've been better. This was a good read. Very good art. However, if I had not read the original book beforehand, I would have enjoyed the book much less. This was interesting enough (though a bit more violent than I was expecting from a children's graphic novel series, but I wasn't completely gripped by the characters or the story. And how, exactly, are these dragons supposed to be choosing a new ruler? All a bit confusing. I did read two of the graphic novels in this series, I just didn't love it enough to continue reading after that. I thought this was a lovely companion to both The Dragonet Prophecy Graphic Novel and The Lost Heir book itself. This novel was filled with beautiful illustrations of some of our favorite characters and then some characters that were only mentioned in the series, but now have a face to add to their name. I loved seeing the artists version of the Summer Palace, and getting to see the Pavilion that Prince Albatross created with his magic. I loved seeing the artists version of the Summer Palace, and getting to see the Pavilion that Prince Albatross created with his magic. Overall this was a great addition to the Wings of Fire series. I didn't like that they changed some lines from the book in this, some scenes were changed, and Blister never called Queen Coral just Coral. I caught some lines that were shortened and lines that were taken from one scene in the book were used in a different scene in the graphic novel. One scene that was changed a lot from the book was the scene where the dragonets are forced to hide from six skywings they see on a patrol. In the graphic novel there are six dragons (five skywings and Crocodile is also with them) Tsunami learns about Crocodile's betrayal in this scene instead of near the end of the story like she does in the book. But it didn't bother me that much. You must understand that graphic novels usually do not have a ton of room so they can't follow the book exactly, sometimes they have to introduce characters at different points then the book and also have to shorten scenes. A fun short read for any dragon fan. I still really loved this and plan on reading it again tonight when I get home. P.S. The scene where Tsunami fights the statue in the hatchery was just a tad creepy in illustrated form.

I will always enjoy the twist in this book. Seeing the first interaction between Tsunami and Riptide was very fun. I really like how Anemone was portrayed in this book. At heart she is a young dragon who wants to have fun. I will always appreciate how Tsunami trusted Sunny with Auklet's egg. Also I enjoyed how it showed Tsunami realizing that she had killed her own father. Very fun. The art was beautiful and I love how it was detailed but not so complex that it looked overdone. Reading this book with all the illustrations was so much fun! Especially because of how hard it was for me to imagine the Summer Palace. I really like this art style and the way you can tell which dragons are which even when they're all SeaWings or whatever. I wouldn't suggest reading this over the original novel, but I would definitely suggest reading them both, in whichever order you prefer. Reading this book with all the illustrations was so much fun! I can't tell if I like this series or not. Obviously I've read two volumes, and I'm mildly interested in knowing what will happen in the future. But... also, I could just stop reading right now and I think I'd forget all about it in no time. But I think this is a story that would definitely appeal to middle grade readers, and I think the illustrations in the graphic novels are fantastic. I can't tell if I like this series or not.
