3.5 stars Normally a story like this (gruff, hulking, sexy, bearded former military man suffering from ptsd and wanting-to-be-alone in his mountain cabin meets a jobless ,beautiful and spunky lawyer searching for what she wants out of life—meet up during a snowstorm and of course are trapped in his cabin...) yeah, this is right up my alley! But something was a little off with this one, and I’m just realizing why I couldn’t rate it higher. It wasn’t the storyline, characters, or the writing in general (except how the author kept changing the color of the hero’s eyes from various shades of blue to peridot...?) It was the sex scenes! Way too descriptive, and not in a good way. Too much gushing, dripping, and leaving wet marks on the sheets and elsewhere. Ugh. And not enough dialogue during these scenes either. I like my hero and heroine a little more vocal, but maybe I’m nitpicking now. Anyway, the sex scenes were not the highlight of the book for me... Not a bad story, but not particularly great either. Oh well, off to find another mountain man book...

I like a good hermit romance. This wasn't it. Liam lives within short walking distance of a five-star resort that caters to families in the wilds of.....Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I was bored. The sex scenes are....sloppy. There was literally no tension, and hardly any plot strung between the sex scenes. Did I mention that I was bored. I cannot believe I finished this story. That doesn't mean I finished the book. Cabin Fever ends at 30%. Book source: Kindle Unlimited. I like a good hermit romance. This wasn't it. But getting dumped with a whole lot of snow will make two people in a small cabin become friends quickly. This is a great story about two people that are totally different but just might find a way to live together for a short time. Whitney just might be what Liam needs to help him heal. This message is extremely important for everyone to know and I applaud Rye for including it as an intricate part of this great storyline that she has created for us. We meet blonde, feisty and caring Whitney who is an up and coming corporate solicitor who is sickened by having to defend clients that the firm she works for know are guilty. One case is one step too far for her when the client's drugs trial has lead to deaths for the people who volunteered for the trials. She is told to either take the case or take a walk. So she, quite rightly, quits her job. She seeks out her bff and she encourages her to take a break and get away form everything to decide what she really wants to do with the rest of her life. Whitney books up a holiday in the mountains where she can refresh 'her batteries' and find some peace. Whilst there she is out for a walk when she notices a storm brewing so she hastens her pace but slips and falls. Fortunately for Whitney, Liam [just retired ex military medic who is suffering with PTSD] spots her falling from his cabin window and he races out to rescue her. He carries her back to his cabin and treats her ankle. When she wakes up the storm is on full force and she sees her handsome rescuer Liam. he had bought his cabin some time ago knowing that he'd want somewhere like this when he left the military and he has needed the seclusion so he didn't disturb anyone with the horrifying nightmares that he has since his last deployment. These two people who seem on the surface to have nothing in common, are instantly attracted to one another physically but as they get to know one another better as they are both stranded in the blizzard, Liam realises that he is feeling so much better with listening to Whitney and his nightmares are not as intense and he is feeling better in her company. So for a man who wanted to be alone, he now finds that Whitney's presence is helping him heal emotionally. We, of course, must not forget the passion that simmers beneath the surface between these two souls who are both searching for peace and what to do with the rest of their lives. There is certainly sufficient steam heat between them that they probably wouldn't need to worry about being cold together. This is a sweet romance that also covers the very real condition of PTSD and I think Rye Hart has written this sensitively and in such a way that the reader's awareness of it is promoted so that more people can understand the trauma that so many people go through in the name of supporting their country. I loved this story and look forward to Rye's next story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED I loved this book so much that I borrowed a copy via KU and the bonus materials were excellent too so I will be purchasing a copy of the book for myself as it is one that I will want to re-read in the future.

Liam is retired medic from the Navy and has PTSD. He seeks inclusion in the mountains away from civilization and here comes Whitney tumbling his life, literally. Whitney is a corporate lawyer who has recently quit her job and looking for a purpose in her life. With the advice of her best friend, she books a 3 week getaway at a mountain resort. After arriving at the resort, Whitney decides to take a hike, against the advice of the staff at the resort, and she gets lost and hurts her ankle in the forest. Guess who comes the rescue? A rugged man, that's who. I downloaded this book almost a year ago and I was pleasantly surprised that I actually loved the book. The characters were great and the author handled Liam so well with his PTSD. It was not overbearing and I loved how his character developed throughout the story. He was broody, but also gentle with Whitney and I loved how comfortable he became with her. Whitney was also a delight. She was strong, ambitious with great personality that was contagious. The only that I did not like about Whitney was her stubbornness, but she learned her lesson when she got knocked into a tree. Harsh!! The heat was ever so present and this author writes sex scenes very well. I loved the buildup, the tension, and the grand jester that he had to do to win Whitney over. I also loved the reversed roles when it came to who wanted more than a fling first and it was refreshing. I recommend this book and get ready to throw your husband, boyfriend, or whatever on the bed because this story is sizzling hot.!!

But she’s only there on vacation, so what happens when reality comes back to both their lives. I loved this read with steamy..oh my...steamy scenes and I also loved the way Liam slowly opens his heart to Whitney and how Whitney is patient with him, not badgering and allowing Liam to share as much as he is comfortable with. Liam is the silent brooding type and Whitney is fiery as well as compassionate...a great match. The author also did an amazing job of keeping me in suspense as to what happened to Liam on the last mission, building up the suspense and once the confession is out there, it was hard not to get misty eyed. A great read that I couldn’t put down and a read that tugged at my heartstrings. *I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book*

This story is beautiful. Take one severely damaged Navy medic who has chosen to remove himself from society by living in a mountain cabin. They are both beautiful, intelligent, damaged souls who deserve better than life has dished up for them. But while they both have a survivor’s instincts, they also have the sense that they may be undeserving of a loving relationship. Together, they turn each other’s worlds upside down: physically and emotionally. Not only are Whitney and Liam devastatingly intense characters, but their best friends are also well written, wonderful additions to the novel. This story pulses with the energy of lust, hope, redemption, and love. There is total satisfaction found here, along with crazy-good sex and the kind of love you wish everyone could find.

Liam’s platoon was throwing him a discharge party from the military. The last tour was pretty rough and he didn’t want to continue anymore. He had been a medic in the Navy, having enlisted when he was 18. That was long enough. Enduring guilt and shame and the nightmares that accompanied those feelings, he isolated himself in a cabin in the mountains. 3.5 Stars I really enjoyed this book. There was something off about it that drove me to not give it a higher ranking. Something just didn't felt right, maybe the dialogue, the sort of abrupt ending, or parts seeming incomplete or as if they're loose ends. Maybe the combo of them all? I really don't know, but it just didn't come together as well as I wish it did. I don't usually like "corporate" characters for some reason, but I loved Whitney. And Liam. And Gwen. It's sweet and there's no cheating or outside of the relationship sex. That's getting rare. Way too many books contain the latter. It's my personal opinion that something didn't come together quite right in the book, but it may not feel that way to others. I'm a very picky reader. To summarize the good traits - it has a good pace, great characters, it's setting is just a couple hours north of where I live (doesn't really matter, I just think it's cool) and there's potential for spinoffs (please?)

I really enjoyed this book. The relationship between Liam and Whitney started out as a weekend where the world didn’t exist beyond the little cabin that Liam lived in. Whitney is a city girl and lawyer taking a vacation to figure out her next step in life. Liam is a recently retired Navy medic with PTSD. He has a little cabin in the woods in Gatlinburg, TN. As a huge storm is moving into the woods, Liam sees Whitney rolling down the hill and crashing into a tree by his home. His medical training kicks in and he rescues her and treats her injuries. While they are snowed in together the attraction grows and nature takes its course. The only problem I had with this story is that Whitney apparently cures his PTSD with nothing more than her willing body. In less than three weeks, he goes from being a hermit to almost cured and is buying a building that he can turn into a medical center after he finishes the civilian portion of his medical training. While his condition is not treated lightly, the ease with which he is cured is unrealistic.

Rye Harts books are some of my favorites to get lost in, her emotional connections, unique storylines, and well-developed characters are always on point and make the roller coasters twists and turn smooth sailing! Another one sitting read for me, I could not get enough of sexiness, and emotional wreckage! A 5 Star I was a goner read!

When she go for hiking on a snowstorm day and tumbles down the hill and broke her ankle, Liam take her in and helps her. I really loved the way, how Rye has taken this story forward, how two people with worst past meet up, how they struggle to open up, how they feel for each other and afraid of everything, and finally how they reach their happily ever after. And Yes, the love scenes where really hot scorching. received the book as an ARC, which I voluntarily reviewed, I loved it and the book worth the time we spend on it.

She wants to go for a walk before the snow storm hits, whilst out walking she becomes lost and badly injures herself. Liam finds her unconscious and his medical training goes into action. He takes her back to his cabin and looks after her. Once they are able to talk to each other, healing processes begin, her physical ones and his mental ones. Can this be enough for them both to trust again. You will have to read and find out. I would love to see a sequel to this book starring both their respective best friends.

You are an enlisted medical corpsman. Also, medics are not trained to kill and save. They are only allowed to save. They are not even allowed to carry a weapon. Can you be a sailor, marksman, or seal trained in some aspects of medical training to save your buddy? Yes, absolutely, but you would not be called a "medical officer" or medic. I tried to overlook the errors, but they were too great. I've been in the military for 24 years, so the errors are like nails on a chalkboard.

I do not see Gatlinburg, Tennessee as the wilderness, it's just not. Some of the verbiage used during the sex scenes were different. I even screen shot it and sent it to my husband saying "well, that is a new way of saying it." Everything just a bit off, it that makes sense. I love this kind of story, mountain man saves city girl who gets lost. It had all the bones just not the skin to keep it together. I liked Liam and I thought Whitney was cute and sassy, but even that couldn't keep it flowing. With Whitney being portrayed as "lost because she quit a job she hated." And again when she leaves Liam, she was always a mess that needed fixed. That bugged me. But Liam, his PTSD was another miss. Seems all he needed was a woman. When she was there is was OK and when she was gone, not so fine. I just needed more and this had the structure for that. But in the end it fell flat.

Another fantastic read by Rye Hart! Liam is a former Navy Medical Officer. He’s a broken and tortured soul after his last deployment. He just wants to hide away and live a quiet life in the mountains. Whitney is a corporate lawyer tired of defending horrible people. After being given another case her conscience can’t take, she quits. Her friend Gwen, who is really funny, convinces her to take some time off on the mountains. Whitney and Liam meet unexpectedly. They brought out the best in one another. Nothing about their relationship felt rushed or manufactured. I also love that the cover model fits the description of Liam, HOT! I loved this book. It was so good and I love Rye Hart she really does a great job in all her books. He may not want her in his little cabin in the woods but between fate bringing her pretty much to his door and the bad weather keeping her there, it looks like he is stuck with her. But after a day or so Liam starts to realize Whitney's sassy attitude and fiery nature don't seem to bother him all that much. In fact he's worried he is going to miss it when the snow finally clears and she wants to leave. But will their strong wills end up keeping them apart or will they find a way to work it out.

Very well written short story with great storyline and plot. A sweet romance. It is a nice read. Full of expanse and hotness. But absolutely worth the read. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Great romance with a twist and very enjoyable read though. The epilogue is very welcomed and gives the story more to it and it finishes better of than without it.
