Where do I start? What do I say? I don't want to sound like a salesman. How can I relax my prospects? When we are untrained, giving presentations can be difficult. We don't know the real questions in the minds of our prospects. We don't know what triggers a "yes" or "no" decision. Many times, we don't even know where to start. Our fascination with information holds us back Where do I start? What do I say? I don't want to sound like a salesman. How can I relax my prospects? When we are untrained, giving presentations can be difficult. We don't know the real questions in the minds of our prospects. We don't know what triggers a "yes" or "no" decision. Many times, we don't even know where to start. Our fascination with information holds us back. We can't see the big picture because we are drowning in facts. And, what actually is the big picture? It is simply this: Does the prospect want to join our business or not? But what would happen if we changed our entire business presentation model? First, we learn to get presentation appointments with almost 100% of the people we talk to. Next, we learn to give our entire business presentation in less than one minute. If we could do this, how do we think our prospects will feel? Thrilled! When we can give our entire business presentation in less than one minute, many good things happen. We save time, not only for ourselves, but for our prospect. That makes two people happy. Plus, this gives us the flexibility to give our presentation anywhere, at any time, in any circumstances. And finally, all the sales tension disappears from our prospects when they know our presentation will take only one minute. One Minute Presentation or Two Minute Story? Tom and Keith have two similar books.... this one, One Minute Presentation and another on the Two Minute Story. Both involve helping prospects get the big picture of a given opportunity quickly. Which is better? Both have their strong points. Both “work” to the degree people use them (that’s the hard part - DOING!) I’ve read and liked both. In a sense I’ve liked this the best but found myself taking elements from both to put them together (Plus some other One Minute Presentation or Two Minute Story? In a sense I’ve liked this the best but found myself taking elements from both to put them together (Plus some other material from Tom) while keeping the “one minute format”. Any work you do applying these books to communicating what you’re doing can’t help but make things easier for you. Either one works fine. But buying both is even better.

One Minute Presentation is Fabulous! If there has ever been a succinct way to quickly elicit a yes, maybe, or no answer, without pressure on either party, this book informs. This is the best elevator presentation I personally have used. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a simple way to communicate what you do.

A great quick read with a lot of examples of how to prepare your one-minute presentation. I've already read this through once and now I'm going back and re-reading it to pull out the information I need to work on and share with my team.
