Always Forward is the ninth book in the Bregdan Chronicles historical fiction series. As of today, there are 10 books in the series. Make sure you start reading with # 1 – Storm Clouds Rolling In. It's readers like you who have turned the series into a world-wide best-seller. Thank you! Book Description:Can America survive the struggle to rebuild? Carrie and Robert’s dream Always Forward is the ninth book in the Bregdan Chronicles historical fiction series. As of today, there are 10 books in the series. Make sure you start reading with # 1 – Storm Clouds Rolling In. It's readers like you who have turned the series into a world-wide best-seller. Thank you! Book Description:Can America survive the struggle to rebuild? Carrie and Robert’s dream comes true, but is Carrie strong enough to survive what comes next? Rose’s school comes under attack by vigilantes. No one could have predicted what will happen next. Abby makes the choice to go to Kansas to fight for Woman Suffrage, and almost pays the ultimate price. Violence and hatred run rampant through the country as America tries to come to grips with 2,000,000 freed slaves. So many of the characters you have come to know and love face both challenges and joys in this turbulent time in history. Volume # 9 of the Bregdan Chronicles continues the sweeping historical saga that now encompasses the second year of American Reconstruction. How many books will be in the Bregdan Chronicles? No one knows yet… Ginny intends to write these character's stories, one year at a time, for as long as she is able to write. She is passionate about bringing history to life through historical fiction. Since she is amazingly healthy, that could be for a very long time! She doesn’t like stories to end any more than you do. This one won't end for a very long time! Review: When Ginny sent the email that ALWAYS FORWARD was available for purchase I immediately downloaded #9. I originally began with Book #1 and have grown attached to each character as I have read the series in order. I was impatient for this newest book to be published. I stopped everything in my life that could be stopped and began reading immediately and into early hours of the morning. When I read Bregdan Chronicles, I always feel as though I am a valued part of Carrie, Robert, Abby, Thomas, Rose, Moses, Annie, and so many others lives. I feel I am a part of their unique family. I enjoy laughing and crying with them. I rejoice in their joys and mourn with their sorrows. I worry with them regarding their concerns and fears. It is hard for me to accept that they are fictional characters because Ginny writes in such a way that I feel each person is real. Since I began the series a while ago, when old characters returned to Cromwell Plantation, I struggled with remembering their place in the story. I appreciate the way that Ginny quickly incorporates clues and memories in the discussions to help me remember them from the past. Just like at a family reunion, I am reminded about the person and how they fit into my memory of them. While readying ALWAYS FORWARD I felt like I was at a family reunion - where we get to share our joys, sorrows, pain, despair, acceptance, and above all LOVE with one another. Since my personal life is presenting similar struggles as those in ALWAYS FORWARD, I found the remarkable wisdom which Ginny weaves throughout all the Bregdan Chronicles series to be emotionally healing. I've made a note to myself to definitely read this book again when my time to mourn arrives to show me the way to emotionally heal. I gained much hope that I, too, can heal and always move forward in my life. As for my life today, I so much needed the wisdom that "...life will always be full of ups and downs, suffering and joy... it is so important to embrace the joy fully, pulling it into every part of your being, because you will need it there when the next hard times start.

This is by far the best series I've ever read! I've learned so much about the civil war, reading this series. Ginny has obviously spent many hours researching this period of time in American history. Then she spins it all into the most wonderful series. I've laughed, cried and had my heart squeeze so hard at times I could hardly stand it. I love these characters and the life lessons I've learned from their stories. I imagine I will read this book again, as I have many of the ones before this. I This is by far the best series I've ever read! I've learned so much about the civil war, reading this series. My first instinct is to scream....Nooooo! but then I remember the promise of yet another book! I'm looking 'Always Forward' to book #10 if you haven't started this series yet...what are you waiting for??? You won't be sorry!!!

The best in the series Ginny dye's books have been a source of entertainment, a good dose of history, and an eye opening moral compass. Each page, each character, each book, is filled with words that will make you angry, cry, hope, laugh, and a cacophony of other emotions that will carry you forward in the good times, and the bad. Can't wait for the next in the series. The best in the series Ginny dye's books have been a source of entertainment, a good dose of history, and an eye opening moral compass. Like the previous books in this series, Ginny Dye did well on this offering. I was surprised and saddened by some of what took place, but it also really showed you how one can come through suffering like refined gold.

Wonderful This book was again wonderful. I love the history lessons inserted into the story. The loss of Robert was a shocker but the valuable lessons learned along with her grief have actually helped me I in my own life, as well as so many wise quotes throughout this series. This Author is extremely informative. It's a long wait for the end of 2016 for another book but I will buy it when it comes out. Wonderful work takes time. Wonderful This book was again wonderful. I wish that I could give this book more stars! It was like witnessing the changes first hand. Then the crushing, heart wrenching events of chapters 20-22! Get ready for ugly crying.

Rebuilding the Nation Perceptive and heart wrenching story of the aftermath of the civil war, broken dreams and political maneuvering that have consequences that have echoed down through the following generations in America.

Excellent series! This is one of the best series that I've ever read. The characters are like friends and you feel like you are right in the middle of the story living their lives with them. This was the hardest yet for me to read. Many parts brought a smile to my face and some parts made me cry. I wish there had been a different part for Robert and baby Bridget. Can't wait to start the next one. This was the hardest yet for me to read. Many parts brought a smile to my face and some parts made me cry. Not my favorite book in this series. I love the parts about the family and and friends and what is all going on there. But with the last couple of books I sometimes felt like I was reading a history book. I really can't see them sitting around discussing the issues they way they are presented. And sometimes the book got a little too preachy for me. I'll read the next one and see how that one is but I sure we just get back to the story about the people. Not my favorite book in this series. I sobbed during this book. Thank you, Ginny Dye, for paying closer attention to grammatical elements. I was less distracted and thus totally wrapped up in Carrie's road to maturity. Continuation of Carrie's story Be prepared with many Kleenex for this one. Tragedy strikes and Carrie has to figure out how to move forward with her life. And the women's right to vote is being fought as are the vigilantes. Continuation of Carrie's story Be prepared with many Kleenex for this one. This book was so emotional for me. I cried more in this book than any of the previous ones. It truly affected me to take a reflection on my personal life and helped me to deal with my life's journey. When I first started to read this book it seemed to take a little longer for me to sink into the story, but, WOW when it did I could not put it down! Another great book and now anxiously waiting for the next one. This book was so emotional for me. I cried more in this book than any of the previous ones. I even went and looked up more information on the Ku Klux, Sojourn Truth and about voting. I was upset about Robert and the baby dying but I did think it was going to be hard for Carrie to become a doctor otherwise! I am now excited to read the next book in the skies that just came out but I am going to try to space it closer to the next one.

I have entered the same review for all previous 8 books and I will add that to this post as well. But first, this book nearly killed my soul. Mrs. Ginny Dye, I was SO mad at you. Arg. But I kept reading and I suppose if you absolutely had to do what you did then you did an ok job with it. I may never forgive you, but I will continue reading because these books are still one of my favorites. Now onto my usual review... Seriously one of my favorite series ever, and I've read a ton of them. I binge I have entered the same review for all previous 8 books and I will add that to this post as well. I couldn't stop to take the time to write an in-depth review of each book because I needed to know what happened in the next one. Read them. Read them all. Unless you are renting from my library. In that case please wait until I return any new releases because I must read them first. :)

I LOVED this book! As much as I have loved this series, "Always Forward" just grabbed my attention! With everything going on in present day, the section of the book that hit home is Chapter 22, especially page 360, "it is not race that makes people good or bad -- it's what is in their minds and hearts. I'm reminded by something almost every day....that I have to see each person as an individual, not as a color. It would be too easy for black people to be angry at the entire white race, but if we I LOVED this book! As much as I have loved this series, "Always Forward" just grabbed my attention! This book has made me stop and really look at myself and the human race as a whole. Can we do better? Can we stop this vicious cycle? How? It will be hard to wait for #10-Walking Into the Unknown.

Forward in Love This is my favorite of all the series I have read. Ginny is a very special author. She shows so well each character's personality, you feel like you know them. I grew up in the fifties where a lot of racial bias was taking place. I've heard my parents say the negative things about the African-Americans that are mentioned here. I remember the song from South Pacific - You have to be carefully taught. That is what a lot of parents were doing to their children. Another heartbreaking and heartwarming story in one book Again, I'm disappointed that I will have to wait for Ginny Dye's next book. This series is not only getting me involved in understanding the history of Civil War times; it is revealing that human nature hasn't changed with time. I think Ms. Dye's Bregdan philosophy becomes more meaningful with each book. As she creates characters to love (and hate), her readers really "live" with her characters! Excellent book in the bregdan chronicle series about the years before, during and after the Civil War. I cried during this book and read it in just under a week. This series captured me from the beginning - excellent historical fiction, compelling characters, not diminishing the tragedy of this war, family values, loyalty - the list could go on. Again I will await the next book at the end of the year - it's hard to wait as I want to see what happens next Excellent book in the bregdan chronicle series about the years before, during and after the Civil War. I was fine until the midway point. There is NO way someone can write in details the feelings of losing a child prior to birth they have gone through it themselves. I re-experienced all the pain and grief and suffering. I think I never stopped crying through the end of the book. In a good way, Carrie helped me grieve as well. Kudos to a successful writer! I look forward to the next installment!

It seems impossible that book 9 in an ongoing series could be the best yet, but Ginny has written it! The emotion packed into these pages was without doubt, exhausting and exhilarating. Ginny Dye truly brings history to life in The Bregden Chronicles.
