Tough, taciturn and wounded in ways that no one else knows about, Marietta rancher and part-time Deputy Sheriff Logan Tate is a man in total control of his life. Until he catches British photographer Charlotte Foster hitchhiking and ‘insists’ she gets a ride into town in his squad car… After her run-in with Deputy Hardass, Charlie Foster is ready to ride her thumb right back out of Marietta the very next day. But that night, a trip to Grey’s Saloon fires up her imagination – and her wild side – when she overhears the town’s first responders panicking over how to come up with the money needed to repair Harry's House in just 90 days. Charlie has an ingenious solution to their problem, that might just require her to photograph twelve smokin’ hot guys naked. And, as luck would have it, also involves getting some much needed payback on Deputy Hardass – who isn't too enthusiastic about participating in the calendar shoot. But as he spends more time with Charlie, Logan can't ignore the chemistry sizzling between them. Can a man who lives by the rules fall in love with a woman who breaks all of his?

Kicking off Tule Publishing's latest multi author series, Tempting the Deputy is exactly why I love visiting Marietta, Montana. "It’s not every day a girl has an orgasm so epic she passes out." Heartfelt, with plenty of humour and hot and steamy moments, along with introductions to characters we can expect much more from, Heidi Rice has set-up the series well and I can't wait to meet the rest of the Men of Marietta. Heroine here is definitely more of a free soul. And despite the hero being sweeter one, I couldn't stop feeling that he's dragging her down. HOWEVER, it's still enjoyable and I still cheered for him because it's NOT intentional and hero WILL do everything in his power to make her happy. Now the h had this tough exterior and her first encounter with our sweet hero was less than perfect landing him with the nickname "deputy asshole" which suited him at that point of time because he was absolutely flabbergasted by this little h that he didn't know what to do with her. But he wasn't an asshole, not really. He was a lovely man, and even a lovelier brother. The little friendship between h and H's brother Lyle was also really funny. H was jealous, and he didn't want to act on it. Simply because that is not the right thing to do. Of course he does act on it and accuses heroine of flirting with his brother but NOT in an accusatory way but in more of a frustrated way. It came out more like "HOW the fuck am I supposed to seduce you if you flirt with my brother woman?" the h did have a tough bitchy exterior but she fell for the hero pretty much straightaway, and to the point where his physical pain was painful for her to watch (poor little darling had to get his chest waxed for photo-shoot). I found their sex scenes quite hot and good. Nothing too kinky and it was definitely balanced. Hero was alpha but not Christian Grey, and heroine was actually also an alpha if you ask me, and it showed that in a relationship you don't really always need D/s to make it balanced or to suggests opposite attracts. Two polar opposite people can be alphas at the same time and enjoy each other's company. Out of the two, heroine is DEFINITELY more experienced, more into flings and ONS and is the troublemaker of the twin duos (she has a sensible twin). Also, not only was the guy NOT a manwhore, he has also been celibate for quite a while. Heroine expected a thorough slutshaming from hero, or at least expected hero to separate himself from her after the sex, but hero was ever so respectful. “If you enjoyed sex, if you instigated sex, if you matched men demand for demand and allowed them to use you the way you wanted to use them, it was only a matter of time before they called you out for it. It was that old sexist double standard. She’d always been unafraid to own her sexual appetites, which had always put her at loggerheads with men like Logan Tate. Old-fashioned, traditional, domineering, alpha guys with tons of testosterone and not a lot of sensitivity who thought women should be screwed and not heard. Or at least that’s the kind of guy she’d assumed Logan Tate would be. But the buff body, taciturn personality, and take-charge attitude had fooled her. Because Logan wasn’t that kind of guy. Instead of judging her, Logan had judged himself. And instead of trying to deny the intensity of what had happened between them, he’d not only owned it, he’d announced he wanted more of the same.” YES, he DID think on a temporary fling basis, but it wasn't only his fault, and the thought was VERY mutual and not disrespectful whatsoever. If anyone it was rather the manwhore of Lyle, who was disrespectful of heroine, pot, meet kettle. “Charlie’s a free spirit,” Lyle added. “Which makes her great for a short-term hookup. But she is not the kind of girl who’s gonna settle down in a place like Marietta.” Hero of course did not take these statement kindly. He was also very respectful throughout the whole fling. Specially about her privacy. When he found out about her buying a pregnancy test from a gossiping older lady, she did put that lady in her place. “you tell Carol I’ll be having words with her next time I’m in Marietta Pharmacy. People’s private business is their private business—she shouldn’t be spreading that stuff all around town. It isn’t ethical.” “I don’t want her private business…” their private business “…becoming the subject of tittle-tattle all over town. Is that clear?” and told the heroine what has happened and didn't for a single moment get mad. “First off, I’ve got to give you some advice,” he said, the crinkle of sympathy round his eyes making the tears sting again. “Next time you need to buy something private, don’t go into Marietta Pharmacy. Carol Bingley, the manager, is a lady who couldn’t keep a secret if her life depended on it.” I did by the end of the book think hero deserved someone a little grown up, I mean I'm EXTREMELY pissed off with heroines running off without a word to hero. I mean how immature can you get? However, even though it'd seem a little stalkerish for the hero to steal his own car to stop heroine from leaving town, you have to remember, context. Heroine at no point of time told him to stuff it, so I'd say it was fair game.

Logan Tate and Charlotte Foster couldn’t be more opposite if you tried, one a free-spirit, go where the flow takes her and her camera, while the other a Part-time Deputy, Part-time Rancher, full-time rules and routines kinda guy. She could spend a lifetime photographing this place… From their first meeting they rub each other up the wrong way, so having her as an unexpected roomie for the following weeks after she comes up with the idea of photographing a Nekkid First Responders calendar to raise money for an important charity endeavor in town things get all-sorts of complicated, especially when they both realize that what they first though was annoyance with each other actually turns out to be crazy-hot attraction. "Your lip action is impressive…" But Charlie isn’t one for sticking around, and Logan can’t do anything but, so they decide a roomies-with-benefits sort of deal is the best way to go. As you would expect, things start to change when emotions come into play, but will Charlie put her commitment fears aside and stay the course when the calendar and its photographs are done… For the first time in forever, she had no desire to move on… I haven’t had much luck with Tule Publishing releases of late, so have been giving them a bit of a wide berth, but when I saw a new series set in Marietta, Montana was on the schedule, and that authors like Heidi, Kate Hardy, Jeannie Moon and Kaylie Newell were involved I couldn’t stop myself from giving it a try. Heidi delivered, yes this isn’t a story-line that will blow your socks off with surprises, twists or turns, but it was beautifully written, and Logan still has a few unresolved issues, some of which I hope to see dealt with in his brother Lyle’s book; Flirting with Fire which thankfully is up next and without a break in the reading proceedings. And wow the sexual chemistry is dripping off the page from the first meeting of Charlotte, who is innocently taking photos alongside the highway, and Deputy Sheriff Logan Tate, who doesn't want this random tourist on the side of the road to freeze to death when the sun goes down soon! Their first dialogue is electric and sets the tone perfectly for the rest of this hot and heavy book! I thoroughly enjoyed the sex scenes, and I couldn't help but picture all of the potential men for this fundraising nude calendar. What can I say, I'm female, and I would quite happily stare at a calendar of hot cowboys, paramedics, firefighters, and other first responders, in order to raise the funds for Harry's House a worthwhile project for the town of Marietta. Tempting the Deputy has everything I want from a western romance, and a bit more as both Charlotte and Logan have quite a bit of depth to their back story, which makes them feel quite realistic. I loved the other first responders and just wish I could get to know them more, but I think that is what the other books in the series are for! Thank you so much to Heidi Rice for this copy of the book which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I certainly wasn’t disappointed. It continues on from the Bachelor Bake-off series but you don’t need to have read those stories to appreciate this one. The key elements for this new series are the hunky first responders - cowboys, firefighters, medics, lawmen, pilots, etc - who are to pose for a calendar to raise money to help fund the development of Harry’s house, a community driven project to honour Harry who was tragically killed whilst trying to help an elderly couple. The project is to develop a safe place for children to go before and after school, a place where they can have support, activities and so much more whenever they need it. This first story tells how the idea of the pin up hotties calendar started . . . . Charlotte (Charlie) Foster is a feisty, independent and very successful photographer who resents any alpha male trying to tell her what she should do. That’s exactly what happened when Logan Tate, a Marietta rancher who also works as a Deputy Sheriff, first spots her taking photographs near to where Harry was killed. He demands she rides into town with him and when she refuses he arrests her! After such an auspicious introduction he actually doesn’t charge her once they get to town but when she turns up at Grey’s Saloon and suggests the first responders pose naked for a calendar to raise funds he definitely doesn’t think it a good idea! The chemistry between Charlie and Logan is so hot! There is some brilliant banter between them and with the other first responders. The sexual tension is high and there are many laugh out loud moments in the story, too. They are brought vividly to life in the story - and when you consider they’re all going to be posing for the calendar in future stories it is such a shame it is only in my imagination and not hanging in front of me now! It is great to go back to visit the Marietta community and even if you haven’t read other stories based there it is still brought to life brilliantly in this book. For those who are familiar with the location, many familiar people and places are there in this story like old friends. This is a brilliant start to the new series and I really look forward to reading more stories involving these heroic young men in future. I received a copy of this story via NetGalley and this is my honest review after reading it.

Loved this one! A great start to a new series! Logan is a small town deputy and works his family ranch. He's kind of serious and protective of what he loves. Logan is a man who takes his duty to serve and protect extremely seriously. Which is how he ends up cuffing Charlie to get her out of the cold. He’s serious and responsible and has rather lost the ability to enjoy life. Luckily for him, Charlie could not be more different. She flits here and there, taking photos, moving on, never taking anything seriously. They should have nothing in common, but beneath their tough exteriors, both have childhood issues that are about to come back to haunt them. I liked both Logan and Charlie, and I particularly liked them together. They definitely bring out the best in each other – well, once they give into their chemistry and get all the awkward tension out of the way. I loved Charlie’s ideas for the calendar and would have loved to have seen more of the photo shoots and the other guys. However, as this is a multi-author series, I could understand why we only got to see Logan and his brother Lyle. Still, I missed the possible fun. I also felt that because of this not being included in the book, a lot of time gets glossed over towards the end. It is only a short book, so I could also see why this happened, but after the enjoyable build up, it ended up feeling a bit rushed. Like the ending. That was far too swift a turn around for me. They both have deep issues, but only one of them really works through them in the book. The other one gets worked up over something, takes it a little to the extreme, then suddenly, no, no, it’s all fine. HEA! Hm. Which is a shame, because the rushed up ending aside, I really enjoyed this. Charlie and Logan are both likeable and their relationship is feisty and fun, with a nice amount of heat. Overall, I love the idea of this new series and found this first book a fitting start. (ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley.)

She overhears the guys talking about Harry's House and trying to raise alot of money fast. She helps them come up with an idea. Logan has a run in with Charlie when she is hitchhiking. Hot and steamy This is a new author to me. The story of Charlotte and Logan, two totally opposite souls, both hiding painful secrets from their pasts. Both afraid of commitment. Can they get past all of that and find a future together? Lots of sex and a bit of language, but a sweet story.

In this book, we are introduced to numerous characters, including our hero and heroine. Nothing like smacking a guy upside the head! At least, that is how Logan Tate feels the moment he stumbles upon the beautiful woman putting her life at risk on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. A place that only has bad memories for him, making it all that more important that he "rescues her" and delivers her to safety. But Charlotte, aka Charlie to her friends, wants nothing of it. She's about to miss out on the perfect shot! The sparks flying between these two are apt to start a fire, and the heat continues throughout the entirety of the story. Definitely worth the read. I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

Logan is the perfect hero. I read one review that gave this book only one star because the reader felt that Logan had misused his power as a deputy sheriff. I'm so glad I didn't take that review to heart because I would have missed out on a wonderful romance filled with well-defined characters and an interesting plot. As the plot progresses, we get to see how Logan and Charlie help each other to get past their painful childhoods and evolve into people willing to be vulnerable. Charlie has a harder time with this than Logan does, but he's not willing to let her run away from him without a fight. Heidi Rice also has a good writing style, free from grammar errors, which is so refreshing considering the number of books I've read lately where the authors don't seem to have any clue about how to use punctuation or how to structure sentences. This one is a definite winner!

I loved this book. Anything which seems to include Marietta Montana in it seems to be a good read. Tempting the deputy is about an English photographer who has a run in with the local deputy and while in town that night she hears about how the first responders in town need to make a lot of money fast for Harrys House. With a little bit of revenge on her mind against the deputy she joins in on their converstation and offers to do a calendar for them. Let the fun and games begin :D

Finding Your True Self Finding oneself is hard until you find someone who'll help you. Both Logan and Charlotte had issues. They both realized they had issues holding their feelings back. But interacting with one another helped them find their true feelings as well as love. Finding Your True Self Finding oneself is hard until you find someone who'll help you. What a great read The MC is feisty and fun and knows herself and makes her own decisions. Any changes in character were well explained and reasonable in the context. I loved the romance and how well two characters that were so opposite worked so well together.

Tempting the Deputy(Men of Marietta Book 1) This book is a must read about Logan and Charlotte who met each other and had sex and felt that was the end of it . The question is do they stay together or do they try to find love and stay together .
