Book 1, The Vampire's Desire seduces the unwary reader into a world where the line between fantasy and reality becomes blurred on an almost daily basis for Amy, a feisty independent expert in her own field of forensic detective investigation and liaises through Rick with the LAPD. Although she and Rick often work together initially on cases, it is Amy's intuition, [that seems almost supernatural at times] which often leads to her breaking a case where 'ordinary' colleagues have failed and this brings resentment on their part and isolation on Amy's. One such case involves the third murder in a month of a young stripper in an isolated suburban location. Amy quickly finds out the girls were all working at the same strip club, yet Rick is unwilling to accept her insistence that she saw a man, who was able to appear and disappear at random attack another girl in a nearby alley, after she followed her on instinct. As a result Amy's put on suspension to pull herself together as Rick assumes (wrongly) she's having a nervous breakdown of some kind. How can Amy put her doubts at rest? Who is Vincent and where does she encounter him next? What is strange about Vincent's age - and eating habits? Who is Faye and what does she tell Amy about herself - and Amy's powers? Does Amy believe her? Who is Damon? How does Amy feel about him? Where does Amy see Jane and the other murdered girls? What do they beg her to do? Who does Amy ask for advice? How are Amy and Damon badly wounded - and by whom? You'll be spellbound by this amazing series and I strongly advise you to clear your reading diary for the next week as once is not enough when it comes to the bewitching Martha Woods' Fatal Allure series of which The Vampire's Blight is to follow. Get them all today and wave your daily life away with a click of your fingers!

By telling her boss, it was deduced she was stressed by the case and given 2 weeks leave. perfect. Turns out that it WAS a feeding but not by a vampire....but by a thing called a shaman....a mix of vampire and werewolf - but strangely only referred to werewolf there onwards. At that scene a vampire DID try to hypnotize Amy to make her forget but apparently she has a closed mind. Amy bumps into Damon a few times....the vampire discovers her in a nightclub and follows her....surprising her by being in her apartment when she gets in. Vincent has been hunting this werewolf for centuries and unknowingly put Amy in its sights by not being able to glamour it. Plus they seem to have this undercurrent of a vibe going on. Vincent vows to keep her safe. Damon meanwhile asks her on a date and they get on great! So well, they entered Amy's apartment to carry on to be met with Vincent. Damon is a hunter. a supernatural one. So Amy has 2 interested in her. She is the only one who can tell them where the werewolf is as she can now contact the dead. After killing it, Vincent disappears and she moves in with Damon for now. The thing that tore me up the most? The death of the dog. I swear I nearly cried over That!!!!!!! Not sure if I'll pick up any others if this is a series tho....

Lately, she is trying to gather clues to the identity of a brutal serial killer. At a crime scene, she meets Damon, a hunter and Vincent, a vampire. In this reality, paranormal creatures are not known to humans. When Amy mentions seeing what she thinks is a vampire, she is immediately put on a leave. >Both Vincent and Damon feel the need to protect Amy. She has a hard time accepting a reality that involves the paranormal, but starts to believe when she can now see the victims of the serial killer, after they are dead. The descriptions of the killings are disgusting enough to really create fear for the werewolf killer. The actual battle between Amy, Vincent and Damon was a bit anti-climactic. >Amy is attracted to both Damon and Vincent, but her ultimate mate is never resolved. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I personally disliked the in-depth description of the dissection of Amy’s beloved dog. This story also ends at page 141, about one third of the way in. Three bonus books are added after this story ends. I like a nice long story. I wouldn’t have picked this one to read if I had realized it was so short.

Amy's best friend would describe her as cynical. She describes herself as a realist. She doesn't believe we’re programmed for monogamy, at least not for the long run, and real love doesn't exist. Extremely smart and able to hold her own in situations most people fail under yet when she finds herself with a man she finds attractive, she becomes as clumsy as a thirteen year old who can't string together a sentence. She's the one who will trip or knock something over. Amy is a twenty-seven year old Amy's best friend would describe her as cynical. She describes herself as a realist. And right now, they're knee deep in an investigation for a serial killer. She's been to each murder scene without finding a single clue until she sees a man attack a woman at a current murder sight. Maybe. She knew what she saw but no one believes her. Martha Woods has taken this storyline and combined a vampire, werewolf and paranormal hunter into a twisted tale of horror that will keep you intrigued with every page. This one left me with questions as to what happened but as the series continues, I'm hoping more answers will be found.

Both guys want to be with Amy but she doesn't believe in lasting relationships. So, even though the story is written well and has a good suspenseful theme going, Amy needs to get in line with her feelings. But I guess that is what will keep people reading in order to find out what happens between the three main characters.

This is a really good story about becoming aware of things that really go bump in the night. She knows exactly what she saw in the alley but she was put on leave anyway. Great story line, characters were very interesting, overall a really good first book in the series. I purchased this book, providing an honest review without obligation.

I’m giving this read 3 1/2 stars. For me, it just took its time to flow. I suppose after reading the prequel, was expecting to naturally flow through and read more about Vincent and what lead him to the beginning of the Fatal Allure series. No spoiling as usual, but will touch the surface. Most of the book was focused on Amy, a forensic scientist working with the FBI involving gruesome murders........ Though mention of Vincent comes later, new character is introduced prior Vincent - Damon. So the I’m giving this read 3 1/2 stars. For me, it just took its time to flow. Jump ahead, murderer was wrapped up within 1 chapter, no cliffhanger here, so leading into next instalment. A bit confusing, hope not. Do give Martha Woods a try if you enjoy Paranormal reading. Also a minor point, sexual activities were mild. Enjoy though

4 stars This was a nice surprise. With a storyline that has a million versions of the vampire falling for the heroine this was a little different. Again, I find myself wondering why this author doesn't hire someone to check her work. This story is really good. I would give it 4 stars IF it wasn't for the constant grammar errors that distract me from the story. I love the idea of a vampire hunter and a vampire both being interested in a medium. This could make for a really good series but I know I won't read any more after this set because of the errors. There are way too many and the story becomes disjointed. Paranormal romance: the vampire's desire by Woods. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it. The story is good on so many levels; the characters are well-developed and are believable, even down to bumbling Amy. Her forensic work brings her in touch with a vampire and a hunter and the reader has to wait to see who she hooks up with. Will they find the murderer of so many females? Is Amy in his sight? The tension builds in this wonderful short story. Paranormal romance: the vampire's desire by Woods. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it. My rating is actually more like a 2.7 star but I couldn't quite bring myself to put it at a 3. I was listening to the audiobooks for this, and although the story itself is promising, the writing is all over the place. Predictable Was an okay read. Girl meets vampire... girl meets hunter... werewolf wants girl dead.. basic in and out. Doesn’t have much action seems rushed and not enough detail. This story I thought would be based from the vamps point of view was from the girls. Vamp has small appearances here and there. Most of it as based on her and the hunter. Still not enough detail. Wished it gave more insight into each persons life. But no. Just a general campfire story.

Torn between two men Amy has no idea that there were supernaturals in the world until the day that she met Vincent a vampire at the scene of a crime. That night was also the night she met Damon who she didn't know was a hunter of supernaturals who endanger human lives. Readers should enjoy following the tale of Amy and the two males who enter and change her life. I would heartily recommend this book. Intriguing I enjoyed reading what I think is a very good story. Clever dialog, sexy characters, and yep sizzling sex. Can't wait to read what's next. It was a cliff hanger but see next part is available so not a problem for me. The two additional freebies were interesting reads but so badly edited that it took away from the pleasure they offered. It's the start of a story, it wasn't the worst thing I've ever read. The building of the story was okay, but then the villain and his demise was anticlimactic. The ending was just blah...I will read the next installment in hope that it gets better. It's the start of a story, it wasn't the worst thing I've ever read. That should not be a turning point for the MC to start getting revenge or whatever some authors think when they decide to put that in their book.
