I’ve personally started 5 businesses and have been part of teams that have started a dozen more. I’ve failed in many of them and had wild success in a few. I know how hard it is to put in the work to succeed in business so it came as a shock to me that this author is so nonchalant about what you need to do to start your business. To succeed in business, surround yourself with winners. People that have a history of winning will always find a way to succeed. Follow those people and apply your passion - that’s your best chance of success.

Launching a successful venture in mid-life means taking advantage of the self-knowledge and financial acumen you’ve gained over the years, as well as anticipating the physical challenges of being an older entrepreneur by taking on help where necessary.  Actionable advice: Look before you launch. While you may have visions of a launch party for your new business, complete with balloons and ads in the local press, this is a risky approach. Ask yourself if you really have the capacity to deal with hundreds of potential customers descending on you in your first forty-eight hours. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and if you haven’t found your feet yet then you may struggle to give your customers an experience that leaves them wanting more. So think before you launch; it could be better to start quietly, and let word of mouth slowly do its magic.”

Nothing new here that you won't find on any Marketing book by Kotler. However, it is a down-to-earth book which is much more easy to understand specially if you're a later-life entrepreneur that might not have as much "energy". It has some good examples on how to start your business. A good book after reading the breakfast club for 40 something. :) This one is geared towards starting a business (of course) Book looks at starting a business from a narrow lense but makes quite a few golden rules of first owner like having clear sense of purpose, strategy & knowledge of customers. finding a niche and hitting with market study. Getting help where necessary was my cue to know it's actually about 40 somethings :p I personally think this book is valid for anyone at any age stage. it' A good book after reading the breakfast club for 40 something. :) This one is geared towards starting a business (of course) Book looks at starting a business from a narrow lense but makes quite a few golden rules of first owner like having clear sense of purpose, strategy & knowledge of customers. finding a niche and hitting with market study. Çok faydalı bir kitap olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Belki bazıları için yol gösterici olabilir. Okunuşu, anlatımı akıcı.
