Excellent retelling of an ancient event where a girl earned the respect her both her people and the enemy king!

Inspiring story about a Roman girl who escapes from an Etruscan camp with other children. The girl's courage combined with a faithful presentation of war between the Romans and Etruscans in the pre-Republic years make this a winning title for scholars. Worth the trouble to find and/or purchase. Inspiring story about a Roman girl who escapes from an Etruscan camp with other children. My boys thoroughly enjoyed us reading this book them. This is a story of a young girl, Cloelia, who escapes a Etruscan prison camp with 40 girls. This is a hard book to find, but worth it!

school book. great, historically founded story. I think the problem I had connecting with this book was cultural. I wonder if I would do better reading this after reading Titus Livius's version. school book. great, historically founded story. I think the problem I had connecting with this book was cultural.
