Love you always by Natalina Reis a supreme five-star read. This was the first book I have ever read by this author, and I am sure it won’t be the last. There are also sad moments that will have you sad to the bottom of your stomach and wanting to make everything right again for the main characters. When we meet Emily Rose she is leading a quiet life, she is teaching small children, is in love with her steady and straight boyfriend Dave and has a kooky sister Celia, they couldn’t be more opposite in looks as Em looks like her mother, and follows her Japanese heritage with luscious dark hair and beautiful black eyes, and her sister follows their American farther with beautiful blonde hair and big round eyes like bambi. Both sisters have big hearts, and would do anything for each other, include trying to make sure they really do try and do the right thing and follow their hearts even if it means they upset the other. Jeremy Peter is known as Jem by his friends, when he returns after five years away without a word he isn’t sure if Em will still be calling him Jem as she may never forgive him for running away without a word, when he explains the reasons behind it will she forgive him? And when things start to fall apart will they be brought closer together and take a chance, or will she stay with what she knows and take the easy life with Dave?

Oh my, between the comments and potions used with these two it is a wonder that no one croaked from the taste or spell. lol. With the turn of events, I would have to agree with the reasoning for Jem disappearing all those years. Although it was frightening and not a turn of events anyone should experience alone or together, I think in a way this opened up a way for Em and Jem to reconnect and finally get together. This story has suspense, laughter and ah ha moments. It goes to show you that even years later you need answers and when you find out the truth it may not be want you expect or wanted to hear. Em and Jem were destined as kids and as adults to be together. It is funny that Em and Jem could not be more opposite and Celia and Jem were like two peas in a pod, but they had the friendship and the twinsets had the true love.

This is my first read by this author. Natalina is able to bring us a friends to lovers story that has twists and turns and some humor mixed in. Loved You Always is the first book I have read by Natalina Reis, but it certainly will not be the last. I enjoy her writing style, and had a hard time putting down this book once I started it. The turn of events in this story definitely caught me off guard. I foolishly assumed it was a simple friends-to-lovers type of story line. Or perhaps a second chance romance. Perhaps it's a little of both of those, with some action thrown in for good measure. I foolishly assumed it was a simple friends-to-lovers type of story line. Or perhaps a second chance romance. Perhaps it's a little of both of those, with some action thrown in for good measure. Emily and Jem are life-long friends, until Jem up and disappears for five years. Emily finally moves on with her life, or at least tries to. She meets a wonderful man, and becomes a teacher, and guess who shows back up out of the blue? Try as she may, she struggles to ignore the feelings she has always had for Jem, no matter how irked she is that he up and left, with no contact with her or his family. Can she forgive Jem and allow him to be a part of her life again? And can she just remain friends, even though she has always wanted more? But what about her steady boyfriend. She does love Dave, right? Dave is stable, has always been there for her, and most importantly- hasn't disappeared like Jem. Dave seems to be the complete opposite of Jem. So is Emily in love with Dave? Or the idea of him? Dave and Emily's sister, Celia, both seem happy to have Jem back in the picture. Celia is overly-excited, and is ready to forget about his long absence. Although Jem seems to have a legit reason for doing what he did, is it really enough? Can an explanation and apology be enough to heal the wounds, to mend her heart? After torturing herself internally about still loving Jem, Emily decides she needs to stick it out with Dave. Unfortunately, she picked the absolutely worse time to confront him with her decision, as she walks into a very dangerous situation. And this is where the story takes an unexpected twist even I did not see coming. However, it just works, and the characters grow stronger individually and together because of it.

Emily Rose and Jeremy Peter had spent their entire lives growing up next door and were often referred to as “irish twins” because of how much they were together. Emily and Jem had the perfect relationship until feelings started growing between them, in which Emily thought she was completely alone in. All through high school and college, Jem made his way through woman after woman and Emily held her tongue and her feelings until one day she couldn’t anymore. She had one single moment of bravery, a stolen kiss, only to have the moment completely shattered by her love saying a different girls name. Shortly after this incident, Jem begins to act strange and sort of nostalgic towards there relationship but promises there is nothing wrong and gave Emily the promise to see her later. The very next day after their awkward goodbye, Emily is floored with the news that Jem is gone, moved away and left everything behind, to go to Europe and chase a girl he loved and leaving Emily broken to pick up the pieces. Fast forward five years and pan in on Emily more grown up, has a career as an elementary school teacher, has her own apartment and most importantly has a loving boyfriend named Dave. Dave is everything Jem wasn’t. He is loving, attentive, patient and most importantly he is in her life with no signs to run away to a different country with another woman for five years with absolutely no contact. Life is good, going according to plan and then a phone calls halts her life. Jem is back. No matter how Jem tries to get back in Emily’s good graces and win her friendship back, he is hitting a wall of anger and resentment that Emily has spent years building up to protect herself and to become immune to his charm. If only the immunity worked for everyone else in her life! Emily’s sister Celia, younger by a few years and definitely more of a free spirit, embraces Jem’s return to their life with open arms and cannot wait to add him into their daily routines just like it used to be. Even her boyfriend Dave seems charmed. Finally, Jem is able to get Emily to listen to part of the reason of why he left. There was a girl that he met who witnessed a horrible crime and feared for her life because of her knowledge of the case, and Jem felt that she needed protection. As it turns out, Jem loved and still loves Emily fiercely and always has. He thought that by leaving her and cutting off contact that he would be able to save their friendship and never have to run the risk of ruining it. Obviously, Emily is torn because she is hearing the words she has always wanted to hear but is met with her anger towards his abandonment and the guilt of her love for Dave. After much thought and deliberation, Emily finally decides the man she is going to choose and decides to go to tell Jem face to face. Upon arriving at his childhood home, it is obvious to Emily that all the safety that Jem thought he had by leaving Europe and the rumors of what happened with the crime was false and very wrong. From here in the story, Jem and Emily have to come together to fight for their lives, their friendship and most importantly their love. Can Emily forgive Jem for what he has done in the past and see that he truly loves her? Or will Jem run out of time to prove himself and be wrongly punished for something he had nothing to do with. This story was a quick read from cover to cover, light hearted but also packed some stints of suspense in along with everything. Jem and Emily, along with the other characters are easy to identify with and you quickly become invested in their story. The author stayed true to all of the characters morals and beliefs and portrayed a beautiful backstory of a life of love and memories. This story will make you believe in love again no matter the obstacles and leave you closing the book with a smile on your face. I am crossing my fingers for a second or maybe third book in the series to continue where this book left off. Highly recommend this book if you are into contemporary romances with mild hints of a thriller story line.

Nothing. Emily is utterly destroyed. She thought she knew him and in the end she doubts herself. When Jeremy comes back with the reasons that he was gone for can Emily believe him and actually forgive him for everything that he has done. Can they mend each other's broke hearts? Some amazing quotes that I found that I absolutely loved in this series are these ones. “Call me if you are mad again. I’ll be glad to jog behind you. Maybe next time we can even break a sweat.” “We were friends until he left for Europe. We haven’t seen or talked to each other since.” “It’s not hard. ‘Hey, Em, I’ll be moving to another country and probably won’t see you for a few years. I’ll write or Skype you sometime.” Honestly, if this had happened to me I do not know if I would be as forgiving as Emily had been. She was hard on him in the beginning, but anyone would be when you are feeling abandoned by the person you care about. And sure. Jem is a good guy. I loved him so much at the end but felt sorry for Emily and what she had to put up with through it all.

Loved You Always is a novel by Natalina Reis. Emily knew two things, she was madly in love with her best friend and she was heartbroken when he upped and left five years ago without even a simple good bye, they had been best friends since almost birth so surly a good bye would be in order, but no! when Jem calls her out of the blue to tell her, he is back states side and can they chat, Em is obviously not happy, so puts her guard up. Jeremy Peters has a good excuse for leaving five years ago without saying good bye, and Em must forgive him as she is his best friend, and that’s what best friends do, right? what he was not expecting was the frost reception he was getting from this girl, but he knows deep down she will forgive him so he knows he must be around. Em now has a serious boyfriend and a job she loves, Jem being around is causing emotionally problem for her. But when life goes from bad to worse and dangerous, Em realises the only person she has for company is Jem and she needs to fight these emotions pronto. Where has Jem been? Will Em Forgive him? Is that witch real? Will she give into her true feelings? Nataline Reis has written a good book here, every page is the unexpected, when you think you have it all worked out, boom! Something else happens. I like Em’s character, the wounded best friend that was jilted without a word, who picked herself back up again but never forgot that boy, and Jem the boy who loves everyone, everyone is drawn to him except the one he wishes was. I found the book entertaining, and when I finished I had a big smile on my face, it is not too long a book but will lighten your day. Five stars from me, I look forward to reading more from this author.

Loved You Always by Natalina Reis is a story about reconnecting with friendship and a lost love. This story is a stand alone and a contemporary romance story that you will love. This story will make your heart thump one minute and pull at your heart strings the next. You will love how these characters will take you on a journey that is full of twists and turns. Find out if these two will find each other after all these years or if fate has other plans for them. Emily Rose fell in love with her best friend as a child, just when she thought they would have a future he disappeared. This left her broken and guarded, determined to never put her heart out there again. Now it is five years later and she gets a phone call that she never expected to get. What will happen when he tries to walk back into her settled life? She has moved on with someone else and seems to be happy. But her sister and fate have other ideas for her. What will happen when she tries to avoid him? What will she do when she is forced to deal with her feelings for him? Jeremy Peter or Jem had no reason or explanation to just up and leave without a word to anyone five years ago. The first person he thinks to reach out to is his best friend. He wants his friend back but not sure what he needs to do to get that back. She is constantly trying to get rid of him or stay away. Will he understand how hurt she really is? Will he be able to fix the relationship he tore apart? Will he get her to let her guard down? Emily and Jeremy's relationship has started out as friendship growing up and then it turned into more. But when he just up and leaves without a word, she is not but crushed. Does he expect to just return and pick up where they left off five years ago? They start and unexpected journey together that will lead them into more then what they were expecting. Will they find each other again? Will she ever let her guard down? She has to figure out how she really feels, who will win and who will lose? I love these two characters together. You will fall in love with them over and over again. They are great together as friends and more and they really do just make this story flow until the end. Emily is a strong character who will make you laugh, cry and feel compassion for. Jeremy is one that you will find yourself pulling for even though he is the one to hurt her. He seems to try everything to get her to bring down her guard. They both are trying to figure out what they really feel. Do things change after five years? Will they figure out that sometimes second chances are the best? Find out what happens to these two as they start an adventure finding their way back to each other. This is my second story by Natalina Reis and I can't wait to read more of her books. I hope that we see more of this story down the line. Natalina lives in Virginia where she spends her days teaching English as a second language to elementary children. She wrote her first story at the age of 13 and she ventured with other genes but romance is the one she always comes back to. When she is not writing she spends her time with her husband and two adult sons. Once again, she has created a story that I couldn't put down and totally lost myself in. This story is fast paced and a real paper turner. It will leave you wanting to find out more. You will never guess what is behind every corner or page of this book. I highly suggest this story as I know you will love it as much as I have.

Just when I thought I had the situations figured out, or thought that the happy ending was coming, there was another fork in the road. It kept me engaged from beginning to end in one sitting. “Together forever. That was our motto. Jeremy and me, best friends forever.” Jem (Jeremy) and Em (Emily Rose) are the two, main point of views told in this book. Both are best friends since childhood. “We completed each other; Jem with his blonde, curly hair, me with my pale skin and straight hair. His six feet two, my five four; his love for fast food, my love for everything gourmet. We were as different as humanly possible, and maybe because of that we fit together like two halves of a whole.” The reader gets a glimpse of the progression of that young kid, tween, teen, then adulthood age groups and the feelings that Emily and Jeremy experience with each one, right off the bat. What started out as a platonic best friend situation, where they told each other everything, has grown for Emily. She no longer wants to hear about Jeremy and the most recent girl in his life. Nor does she see herself really with anyone else. “I was in a permanent state of semi-panic when I was around him.” It is in the college years of their lives that Emily finally gets the nerve to say something to Jem, well sort of, she thinks he is asleep, as she tells him she loves him, and kisses him. She feels elated until the name that is on his breath is that of the girl he was currently chasing and not Emily’s. Fast forward to five years later, and in the here and now, Emily is happy, situated in her career as a fifth-grade teacher, and dating Dave; a man who is reliable, or so she thinks. It isn’t until one random phone call disrupts her classroom one afternoon that it we know where Jem is. More so where Jem has been for the last five years while Em has been living her life the best she could and adapted to not only not having her best friend in her life, but letting go of the idea that they will ever have a romantic relationship. “Jem, who had hightailed to Europe almost five years ago without so much as a good-bye, had just called me and asked me to dinner. What did that mean? Or did it mean anything at all?” She agrees to meet Jem. She isn’t sure if she is meeting him to pick up where they left off as friends, or if it is to explain why, finally, he up and left her and everyone else behind five years ago. “He left most of his things behind, his roommates told us. Took only one suitcase and some money he had saved. Left us a note saying he would be gone for a while, but not to worry because everything was okay.” When they meet though Emily cannot help but release her hurt and anger at Jem. “God, I hate that I don’t hate you. I love you, I will always love you.” Little does she know how much that one phone call and the return of her best friend, is going to change her life forever. I enjoyed the suspense and action that accompanied the love story of the book and felt that it made is one of those, sit and read it all in one sitting type of books. I look forward to reading more of Natalina Reis’s books.

He is sure she will understand given time. I enjoyed this book from the beginning. I have previously read a book by Natalina Reis and enjoyed the flow and creativeness. I felt the writing was great and it flowed along. I started this in the morning and I just keep turning pages because I wanted to see what was going to happen next. It ended up being a quick read for me. Not only is romance in this book but some suspense also. This story is told from Emily's POV only so really no thoughts on what Jem was thinking or feeling during this time. The author did a good job on portraying his feelings with looks. Emily's sister, Celia, and her witchy friend, Marcy, added to the story and they were the two crazy characters in Emily's straight life. At first I felt the part with Celia dragging her to a “witch” was weird but then again Emily reacted as many people would. Not believing until she was convinced to try all the witchypoo stuff. Shockingly the modern day witch proved her worth and Emily counted her as a friend as time went on.

The answer is YES to those questions. JEM & EM (They are aware that their names rhyme) have been best friends since preschool. She is Ross to his Rachel. She has a huge crush on him and has to watch him date others because he has no idea how she feels. When they reconnect 5 years after their last visit with each other - things have changed, yet so much has remained the same. There was a point in the book that I almost didn’t finish because I couldn’t connect with either JEM or EM (he is a stupid boy and I wanted her to be strong enough to not cave) and then I realized that I could very easily have been EM when I was younger. We are so stupid with our first crushes / great loves, aren’t we? I’m so glad I continued onto the end. The secondary characters in the story where great to meet also. There is a witch named Marcy “Marcy, what a ludicrous name for a witch” and a meddling sister who always knows what is right. Ms. Reis writes a fantastic story and I have enjoyed all of her books. For me, she is a visual writer so I feel like I am immersed into the story. I hope JEM & EM are in any future books written about EM’s sister or Marcy the witch, I look forward to seeing where they go.

The main characters in this book are Emily Rose and Jeremy Peter, aka Em and Jem. These two were best friends since they were little until one day Jeremy leaves. Go ahead five years later and he’s now back. Feelings begin to resurface and everything is questioned. Can they get back what they have or is he only back to leave yet again? The author has delivered an amazingly written story with Loved You Always. From the first few pages you will be pulled quickly into the story that will have captured you! It was an emotional ride as we progress through the story creating what is truly a remarkable read. The author does a great job of keeping the reader engaged and does not keep the story predictable every step of the way… a little bit of detour is given to keep your interest. I enjoyed reading Em and Jem’s story. I found Em’s character to be well developed and engaging. With Jeremy back in the picture, her world is now on tilt and all types of questions linger in the air. How she handles those is exactly how I would anticipate anyone in that type of situation would, as well. Jeremy is questionable through part of the book, but as any good author would do, we see more of him and what truly motivated and drove him as the story progresses. A great love story and well written by this author. It’s a wonderful weekend read.

4 stars Loved You Always is a contemporary romance standalone novel by Natalina Reis. It was a really nice, easy read the flowed well, had a nice friends to lover’s second chance storyline with characters that are likeable and easy to relate to. There were some really great added twists to the story that I wasn’t quite expecting that gave it that magical kind of feel to the book too. For me this just added something a bit different to the storyline. There were some funny moments in this story wrapped in emotional and romantic times. The things the Emily does to avoid Jeremey were hilarious! There were some great characters in this story both primary and secondary! Emily and Jeremy were best friends their whole lives until 5 years ago when Jeremy just disappeared from her life. Having moved on with her life (even though Em still misses him deep down) Emily has a new boyfriend Dave who seems like the perfect boyfriend! One day Jeremy suddenly arrives out of the blue and Emily is none too pleased to see him! Suddenly Em finds herself thrust into a pretty dangerous and unexpected situation and has to spend time alone with Jeremy, she’s loved him for years but can she forgive him for leaving her broken-hearted all those years ago. I really liked Emily, she provided many laugh out loud moments in this book, especially when she visited Marcy! (who by the way was a brilliant secondary character who I would love to read more about!) She desperately tried to keep Jeremy at arm’s length even thought it was pretty clear she has some deep unresolved feelings towards him! Jeremy was definitely one of those characters that you find yourself rooting for even though he cause Emily so much upset. He found himself in a strange situation and did what he thought was right. He desperately tried to protect Em when she needed it. There were some really good twists to this story which made it less predictable than I first anticipated when I read the synopsis which was great! Overall I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it as a nice easy to read story with great characters!

Now he is back in town and old feelings start to resurface. What made Jeremy leave and why is he back? Can Emily forgive Jeremy or is their friendship permanently over? This is an amazing story. It pulled me in from the first chapter and had me quickly turning pages to find out what happens next. This story is full of emotions and had me laughing, feeling sadness, confusion, and that warm fuzzy feeling that you get when reading an awesome love story. When reading you believe that you know what direction the book is going in and then something new is thrown into the mix. Not only is the story wonderful the characters are also. They are well developed and you feel that you can relate to them. Emily’s life is steady. She has a boyfriend and she seems to be just cruising along. Then when Jeremy shows up everything is turned upside-down. She believed that she had gotten over Jeremy and his leaving with no explanation. Her anger boils over when they meet again and she puts up shields around herself so that she will not be hurt again. Then old feelings that were never talked about resurface. Will Emily forgive Jeremy for leaving without a word or is their relationship too damaged to continue? Jeremy is a complete mystery at first. His explanation for leaving doesn’t make sense. Then as the story progresses things start to fall into place. He realizes how foolish his actions were and is bound and determined to get Emily’s forgiveness. He has a lot to overcome. However, there are things from the past that come back to haunt Jeremy and the situation turns dangerous. With both of their lives in danger will Jeremy finally express his true feelings for Emily? Find out if Jeremy and Emily find their HEA. This is the first book I have read by the author and I can’t wait to read more of her work. I love her writing style and her attention to detail. This is the perfect book to spend the afternoon reading.

I love Jem and Emily, so much drama in this sweet second chance romance. I kept turning the pages and reading past my bedtime. I'm looking forward to more from these characters. I read Blind Magic first but if you haven't I definitely recommend it. Both can be read as stand alone books but I would recommend starting here. This is the first book I have read by this author and really enjoyed the way the author weaved the story with its twist and turns within the plot. The story revolves around two people who have been friends since pre-school but until one night when Em decides to reveal a secret to Jem she has been holding onto for what seems like forever but then the next day Jem vanishes not be heard or seen from until one day he waltzes back into her life, but will Em welcome him with open arms or a cold shoulde This is the first book I have read by this author and really enjoyed the way the author weaved the story with its twist and turns within the plot. Jem has been gone for five long years and is nervous to go back to see Emily Rose, will she understand the reason why he had to leave all those years ago or has he lost his best friend forever. So as he returns to his home town and finds Emily Rose the first meeting does not quite go to plan. Em has moved on with her life and has a lovely boyfriend, Dave who loves her, but will the feelings from all those years ago come flooding back and cloud her life at the moment. Until one day her crazy sister decides to take Em to see her friend, Marcy who just happens to be a witch. Marcy concocts a potion to repeal Jem from Em so the chemistry that she feels does not take hold and Em can carry on living her life with Dave, but one fateful night everything changes and will Em and Jem be able to put their feelings aside to survive. The story goes through the trials of the two of them trying to come to terms with the fact that Jem abandon her all that time ago and now that those feelings have been stirred back up again will Jem win the battle of Emily Rose’s heart or will Jem’s past break them and cause the friendship to fracture beyond repair. I enjoyed the twists within this book and thought the story was gripping and compelled you to carry on reading, I loved the character of Celia the mad crazy sister and Marcy the bizarre and quirky witch character which added a great element to the story. I would definitely like to read more books but this author in the future.

Loved You Always is a standalone by Natalina Reis. This is a story of reconnecting with your best friend and true love after years apart. Emily Rose was in love with her childhood best friend Jeremy Peter or as she called him Jem for years but was afraid to admit it to him but then he takes off without a word to her or anyone that she is leaving. If only things were as smooth as that. He wants his friend back but isn’t sure what he needs to do especially since she is trying to get him to go away every time she sees him. He doesn’t understand just how deep the hurt runs for Emily. Emily meets her sister Celia’s friend Marcy who happens to run a shop full of potions and crystals. Marcy puts together a potion to help repel Jem amongst other things and everything backfires for Emily and Jem likes the potion on her. After quite an unexpected adventure together they start to repair their friendship which means everything to them both. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Emily’s sister Celia and her friend Marcy were beyond funny and I would have loved to see more of them even though they were in the book quite a bit. This book is a sweet and funny book with a happy ending.

Loved You Always by Natalina Reis was a cute little love story between two best friends. This is my first read by Natalina and it was a quick, sweet and funny story. Best friends forever. Things have been going well for Em, she loves her job and students, she lives on her own and she has some wonderful people in her life. And then he comes back. It has been five years since they have seen or spoken to one another. Jeremy "Jem" Peter just up and left one day. No explanation or clue as to where he went. But now he's back and he wants back into Emily's life. Will she be able to forgive him for leaving? Is this everything that she's been wanting since they were teens? The story was a little slow starting. I believe with a little more explanation of the backstory it would not have been but it didn't take away from the overall picture. I did however have a hard time believing Jem's reasoning for leaving, a little too far fetched. While Marcy, the witch, was pretty funny, her magic did not really seem to fit into the story, mostly just not my cup of tea (ha Marcy actually really liked tea). Overall though it was a cute and sweet story about two best friends and how they come back to each other. Jem and Em had the cutest relationship when they were younger and I am glad the story ended how it did.

But, little do they both know danger is around the corner leading us to believe Jeremy left for a reason. Can Jeremy tell Emily why he left in the first place before it’s too late? Can Emily forgive him and let him back in to her heart or will she turn away from him like he did to her? Will Emily make the right decision? Will she go with her heart or will she make her next decision based on her mind? It’s a difficult decision when the last thing she wants to do is hurt someone. Will Emily finally have her happily ever after? This book had me laughing throughout the entire book. Having to put the book down to take a breather.

Emily was a great heroine down to earth, funny and quirky who has so much to deal with once her best friend returns you cant help but feel for her but also you do find yourself rooting for Jeremy hes not a bad guy he just bad decisions but who doesn't. I also have to mention the witch Marcy she was hilarious and I think she made this novel even more awesome with her bubbly crazy personality and I really hope she will get her own story. I would absolutely recommend this novel it was beautifully written and the story will captivate you. Happy reading!!!!

He has no idea how Em feels about him, and follows any skirt at the turn of his head. He always thinks he’s in love and can’t seem to anchor himself. This book is amazing and the twist completely threw me, I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read more from Natalina. I haven’t been reading much in the way of paranormal, but the witches and spells in this book were phenomenal. If you haven’t read any of Natalina’s books, please read this one. It’s a quick read with great wit and an excellent plot. Great job! Happy Reading!

One thing about romcoms is that the plot can be completely out there and it doesn't matter. The plot was definitely out there but it created lots of laughs.
