It’s been several years since Anna Voss and Nick Hoffman have last seen each other and when Nick finds himself back in town with his son, he can’t help but be drawn to Anna once again. She was and is only the love of his life. Will these two former lovebirds discover that destiny and fate is knocking on their doors? His Angel is a very sweet, sentimental, and sexy love story. Calista Fox did a great job with the pace and allowed readers to see and feel the deep rooted history connection that Nick and Anna have for one another. So if you are a fan of second chances then be sure to check out this story. Jennifer Probst is synonymous with sexy, charming love stories that will have your heart fluttering and in her newest holiday novella, she has me totally smitten. I swear Jennifer can write about anything and she will have me madly and wildly obsessed. In The Grinch of Starlight Bend, Jennifer beautifully writes a love story that is similar to Beauty and the Beast. Once upon a time, Noah was a nice guy that is until an incident left him feeling bitter and reclusive. The holidays spirit was no longer felt in Noah’s household that is until a perky, lively, and vivacious lady came knocking on his door. Josephine came barreling into Noah’s life and suddenly knocked his world on it’s axis. Soon pieces of Noah’s broken heart began to mend. Will this former beast discover the new beauty in his life? As I have said earlier, I absolutely love Jennifer Probst and in this quick charming novella, she was able to pack so much love and Christmas spirit. So if you are looking for a love story that has heart, charm, and compassion then I highly recommend you to read The Grinch of Starlight Bend.

This is an anthology of 5 novellas which all take place in the small town of Starlight Bend.  They are connected only by the setting, a special Santa and a town Wishing Tree for needy children. SNOWBOUND IN STARLIGHT BEND by Jennifer Ashley: In this city girl/country boy story, Haley McKee is a CEO from Seattle who ends up stranded in Starlight Bend during a snowstorm. Maddox Campbell rescues her. Maddox is a horse trainer of stunt horses (he provides them to his cousins in Texas -- the Riding Hard series Campbells). Maddox has been hurt before by a woman who wouldn't stay in Starlight Bend and it looks like history might be repeating itself. This was a good story.  Maddox is a good man who has a crusty exterior and a heart of mush.  Haley is a woman who has made a name for herself, but doesn't have a real purpose to her life. The two are funny and spirited together. This was a very enjoyable tale of two mismatched people.  My only complaint is that I wish there was some view of what their life ultimately would be like because it is hard to figure out how Haley will be happy in town outside of her relationship with Maddox.  Rating: 4 stars. THE LONG GONE GIRL OF STARLIGHT BEND by Erin Quinn: Kari Dale is a burned out wanderer who co-owns a chain of men's clothing stores. She has come to Starlight Bend to open a new store and then intends to move on. Tyler Timberlake is a high school history teacher who was born in Starlight Bend, left to pursue bigger dreams, but ended up returning to his hometown to find purpose. This story was good.  The themes of home versus leaving, dreams versus love are well developed in various levels. Kari and Ty are sweet and hot together. I loved the complexity of this story. Rating: 4 stars. HIS ANGEL OF STARLIGHT BEND by Calista Fox: Dr. Anna Voss is vet in Starlight Bend. One day a boy named Jake comes to her office interested in the animals.  It turns out Jake's father is the man that Anna loved as a young woman and has never forgotten. Dr. Nicholas Hoffman is a neurosurgeon from New York. He spent time with his grandmother in Starlight Bend but eventually left the town and Anna. The two have loved one another and yet their lives have always seemed to be going in different directions. This was one of my favorite stories of the anthology. These two seem destined to both love one another and be apart. I loved that the story showed that love alone is not enough and being together takes will and determination. Rating: 4.5 stars. ROPIN' THE LONE COWBOY OF STARLIGHT BEND by Mary Leo: Jolie Shepard has come to Starlight Bend no knowing what she should do with her life. She's from Las Vegas and hasn't connected with a career or a purpose in her life. She meets Red Wiseman when Jolie and Red are both choosing a wish from the Wishing Tree. Red is a man grounded deeply in Starlight Bend where he raises horses and gives riding lessons. The characters in this story were nice (especially Red) but I found Jolie very immature for her age. I have a hard time seeing how things would work out for these two long term, but the story was nice.  Rating: 3 stars. THE GRINCH OF STARLIGHT BEND BY Jennifer Probst:  Noah Elliott was a generous angel to the community of Starlight Bend until an accident shattered his body and his faith in his fellow man.  He became the Grinch of the town and hides away in his mansion. Josephine "Joey" Whitman is a social worker who chooses a wish from the town Wishing Tree and is determined to make the child's dream of a carnival happen even if it means bearding the den of the Grinch.  I loved the sweet redemption of this story which had a definite Beauty and the Beast vibe along with the Grinch story. Noah is a man who is looking for someone to redeem his faith in humanity and Joey is the woman who heals his heart.  Sweet and a good conclusion to the anthology.  Rating: 4 stars. This review was originally posted on Top10RomanceBooks.com

Anyone who is a voracious reader of books, or one who is also a book reviewer like me, should jump at any opportunity in which a LIMITED collection of stories written by bestselling authors of the New York Times and USA Today for only 99 cents comes along, especially when the genre is romance. While many such collections revolve around a simplistic notion such as shapeshifters and the like, this one had been planned. The one thing which actually connects each of these five stories is a Christmas wish tree located in the local sporting goods store in Starlight Bend, Montana. Not only does each story revolve around a sexy hunk one can only dream about, each of them lives in Starlight Bend, Montana. When you add in the holiday season and making a Christmas wish come true for a child how can you go wrong? And as with every Christmas season, a certain magic abounds around us and wishes of finding someone to love can finally be fulfilled, especially if you believe it can happen. There’s a certain warm endearing quality about the guy in each of these stories, a quality which might make you fall in love with and fantasize about being in the shoes of the woman who winds up stealing his hearts. There’s a wonderful range of romantic themes in these stories from a second chance romance by Calistic Fox in “His Angel” to a sweet beauty is in the eyes of the holder story in “The Grinch of Starlight Bend” by Jennifer Probst, a story which is similar to the romance story most if not all of us have read as a child, that of “Beauty and the Beast.” But who knew then that what we had read had been, along with “Cinderella,” had been our first exposures to romance, which is why we probably love this genre today. For a having us 5 stories which will begin to warm the cockles of our hearts in time for the holiday season, I’ve giving this LIMITED Edition collection 5 STARS.

This story is like Beauty In The Beast but the only magic you'll find comes from Christmas time and love. It was more like a present time version with a billionaire hero who lives with a puppy and a butler. Even if it's a short story, I thought the characters's development was well-handled and believable.

My favorite stories were the first and last in the collection. They are enjoyable and all are fairly quick reads. The reason for 3 stars is I felt like a few of these stories just abruptly ended. There were epilogues that had nothing to do with the main characters. I like a good epilogue that gives closure to the story. Overall I would recommend...⭐️⭐️⭐️.

The rest of the stories are completely different, as each author has put her signature in an incredible way. I enjoyed each one of the stories in a different way and each theme enchanted me in a unique way. Snowbound in Starlight written by Jennifer Ashley tells the story of a couple completely unlikely. She is a CEO and he is a cowboy even though he has a degree in engineering. One day, returning from a trip to work, she gets caught in a blizzard and he appears to rescue her. At first, they are very different and almost unlikely, but end up getting together and forming a very beautiful couple with incredible chemistry. I liked that the author built a story well in time, with nothing too much going on. In Erin Quinn's The Long Gone Girl of Starlight Bend we meet Kari, a girl with big plans for her life and is almost getting everything she wants, but she did not expect to find Ty and have to choose between what she always wanted and love. This is a beautiful story about choices, what would you choose, your dreams or your love? Would it be possible to reconcile the two? In turn, Calista Fox, with the story "His Angel of Starlight Bend", brings a story that talks about second chances and a couple who need to forgive what happened in the past and find a way to be happy. Mary Leo in Ropin 'the Lone Cowboy of Starlight Bend talks about an almost opposite couple, while Julie does not want to spend Christmas alone she ends up going to spend the party at her best friend's house. There she ends up meeting Red, a completely opposite man who prefers to be alone. This book says that no one really wants to be alone, just needs to find the right person. Finally, Proby did not disappoint me. I confess I had a very high expectation for her story because she is one of my favorite writers today and she has not failed. In a story, almost with a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, she made me sigh with The Grinch of Starlight Bend. As you can see, 5 stories, each with its own particularity, but which together make you sigh and travel to this little town. Yes, I almost packed my bags and moved there. Maybe I did not win a protagonist to call mine? Attention authors: I noticed !!! I'm available to have my own Christmas story (laughs) ** Arc courted kindly in exchange for an honest review ___________________________________________________________ Português Nesta antologia nós temos cinco histórias de ferias que se passam no mesmo lugar: Starlight Bend. The Grinch of Starlight Bend. Como podem ver, 5 histórias, cada uma com sua particularidade, mas que juntas te fazem suspirar e viajar para essa cidadezinha. Sim eu quase fazia as malas e me mudava para lá. Quem sabe eu não ganhava um protagonista para chamar de meu? Atenção autoras: Me notem!!! Estou disponível para ter minha própria história de natal (risos) ** Arc cedido gentilmente em troca de uma revisão honesta

Holiday Heat: The Men of Starlight Bend is a holiday anthology featuring five different stories. This is a great antholo Holiday Heat: The Men of Starlight Bend is a holiday anthology featuring five different stories. The stories not only take place in Starlight Bend, but they also feature similar elements such as a Christmas giving tree, epilogs about the children who received gifts that they asked for via the Christmas giving tree and a new-to-Starlight Bend Santa. The authors clearly thought the details of this anthology through and the consistency really made each and every story shine. This is a great anthology to read as you get ready to celebrate with family and friends as the year closes out. Snowbound in Starlight Bend by Jennifer Ashley The first story in this anthology features a cowboy and a business executive. When our heroine, Haley, gets her car stuck in the snow she is rescued by a hunky, albeit slightly frosty hero, Maddox. The two pretty much fall in love at first sight but as the story progressed there wasn’t enough emotional depth to keep me hooked. Long-term I couldn’t figure out how these two would work with Maddox’s job and family in Starlight Bend and Haley running a business elsewhere. The unanswered questions I had about how this couple would make it work beyond the holiday season made me too nervous to fully enjoy this story’s cute ending. The Long Gone Girl of Starlight Bend by Erin Quinn The sexy teacher meets a wanderer. This story had it all: a family feud, internal and external conflict and, best of all, a one-night stand that turns out to be more. The Long Gone Girl of Starlight Bend was essentially Kari’s “putting down roots” story. When she meets Ty while grabbing a drink in Starlight Bend these two immediately hit it off. This story made me break into tears at several points and yet it left me feeling happy and hopeful. The star of this show though was Quinn’s writing style. Quinn’s style is descriptive without seeming wordy or superfluous. I’ll be picking up books written by her in the future for sure! His Angel of Starlight Bend by Calista Fox I gotta be honest here, I had trouble picking up this storyline from the very first time Anna and Nick meet on the page. Anna and Nick grew up together and had once been in a relationship but due to various circumstances they grew apart. However, it’s clear these two still love each other very much. I just couldn’t seem to put all the pieces of this story together no matter how many times I read each chapter and word written. Nick has a child and Anna has a secret…there was almost a bit too much going on for me to pick up what the author was putting down. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. Ropin’ the Lone Cowboy of Starlight Bend by Mary Leo I’m not usually a fan of instalove, especially in a novella where there isn’t a ton of time to describe what comes after the initial flash and heat. But this novella had the best kind of instalove, one with an emotional connection that had the possibility of turning Jolie and Red’s feelings into more. This little story packed a punch! Jolie doesn’t seem to have a lot going for her but she is willing to try new things and has a heart of gold. Red can’t help but be caught up in the wild ride that is Jolie. Since Jolie is between jobs and almost out of money Red is an answer to her problems, but she doesn’t connect with him just for his money or stability, they move beyond that to figure out if they are actually compatible long-term. The Grinch of Starlight Bend by Jennifer Probst I picked up this anthology since Jennifer Probst had written one of the stories and Jennifer did not let me down. The Grinch of Starlight Bend was easily the best contemporary Christmas romance novella that I’ve read in a few years. The story was completely lovely and a Beauty and the Beast retelling with Grinch elements. Joey, our heroine, is sassy and fierce. Our hero, Noah, is rich, powerful and, unsurprisingly, a pretty great guy in the end. He’s also insecure about his physical appearance. Joey and Noah’s story is magical…MAGICAL I tell you! Also, there is a butler named Charles. Charles reminded me of Bruce Wayne’s Alfred and is a gentle hint from the very beginning that Noah is not only human but a caring loyal and generous human. I adored this story!

Wonderful Stories This bundle has the sweetest heartwarming stories with couples in each one that makes them entertaining and fun. And each of the women have just enough stubbornness and gumption to keep their men interested. And they had enough heat to keep me reading until the end. It is a good read any time of the year but especially at Christmas. Enjoy I did.

Holiday Heat: The Men of Starlight Bend has 5 great little stories from a few authors that are familiar to me and a few that were new to me before I dove into this collection. There should be a story for everyone to love here with the entries ranging from sweet to second chance romance to my personal favorite of the group, a take on Beauty and the Beast from Jennifer Probst. Set in the small town of Starlight Bend, Christmas takes on a bit more of a magical feel this year for 5 residents when they go to local sporting goods store to make a selection from the Christmas wish tree. Each time one of them selects a paper ornament with a wish to be fulfilled for a child in need, Santa has a little something special for the adult as well as he grants the wish of their heart that they may not know they have made yet. My top 3 favorites were actually the last 3 stories in the set. His Angel of Starlight Bend was a sexy second chance romance between the town veterinarian and her high school sweetheart who left to fulfill his family's legacy as a successful surgeon in NYC. Now, his grandmother's failing health has brought him back to his roots with a little extra baggage and being back has never felt so right. In Ropin' the Lone Cowboy of Starlight Bend, the town's most eligible and unattainable horse rancher has locked away his heart after having it ripped out and stomped on by his ex-fiancee. A spunky beauty from Las Vegas is starting to chip away at the walls he has built though, especially when she plops herself down in a horse stall with a newborn foal and its mama to help them bond by singing them a song. Can they find a way to merge two very different lives, or is he setting himself up for another broken heart? In the Grinch of Starlight Bend, Ms. Probst drew upon bits of two beloved tales to create her story. Noah Elliott is the billionaire who helped Starlight Bend thrive through his investments and philanthropic efforts when he visited the town and fell in love with it. Then 5 years ago, he ran into a burning building to rescue two trapped teens who inadvertently started the fire and he was trapped inside himself receiving horrible burns to one side of his face and body. Rather than being hailed as the hero he was, greedy parents of one of the kids tried to sue him with trumped up allegations and people in town started to take sides. Hurt on both a physical and emotional level and in disbelief at the people who turned on him so quickly, he settled the suit, cut all ties with the town and retreated to his mountaintop mansion where he has hidden out for the last 5 years. When Joey Whitman picks her wish ornament from the tree, she knows the only way she can grant the cancer-stricken child's wish for a winter carnival is to enlist the help of the one man who wants zero to do with the town. She camps out at the gates of his home risking hypothermia until he finally relents and allows her access to the house, but he is beyond stunned when his snarling and growly attitude does nothing to either scare or deter her. She recognizes the reactions of a wounded animal acting out and holds her ground earning her Noah's grudging respect. As they spend more time together, respect turns to more, but can she convince him to take a chance on living and re-entering society again? Holiday Heat provided a few hours of fun, holiday themed escapism for me, and you should definitely check it out for yourself today!

It's only just recently that I've become a fan of Jennifer Probst's and I'll admit that that was what first drew me to this anthology, but after checking it out further, I was also looking forward to reading all of the stories too! And read them all I did, even though I wasn't sure I would have the time for all of them. And read them all I did, even though I wasn't sure I would have the time for all of them. I'm still not completely sure I had the time with my schedule, but it was absolutely worth it because I loved Holiday Heat! Ok, I'll confess, I did not originally start out reading this in order (although I recommend you do because it's better and worth it that way) and as a result, I wasn't feeling it, so I set Holiday Heat aside for awhile before coming back to it. When I did pick it up again, I decided that I would just read Ms. Probst's story and save the other stories for another time when I had the time. I knew after reading the prologue though, that I should start at the beginning because I wanted to save it for last. I was a little hesitant about Ms. Ashley's Snowbound in Starlight Bend because I usually don't read about cowboys, but from the moment I began it, I was completely sucked in. It was entertaining, witty, and engaging. It was the perfect tale to get this anthology going and it made me so excited to read the rest! Erin Quinn's The Long Gone Girl of Starlight Bend was my first go-around and while I wasn't feeling it that time, I think I was just crazy because the second time I could definitely feel the magic of Starlight Bend! This one kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for our heroine to choose to be with our hero. It tugged on my heart, warmed it, and melted it - it was excellent! Just when my heart was all warm and happy, there went Calista Fox's His Angel of Starlight Bend pulling on it right again. It was so bittersweet seeing Anna and Nick together again and I was rooting for them to finally get their happy ending this time. And just like they got their wish, I got mine too because they did and it was lovely to see! I'd never read Ms. Mary Leo before, but I have to say that her Ropin' the Lone Cowboy of Starlight Bend was one of my favorites of Holiday Heat! It was humorous and beautiful and touching. I really loved it and I'll be on the lookout for more of Ms. Leo's writing! And finally the time came for Jennifer Probst's The Grinch of Starlight Bend and I couldn't have been happier with it! It was so Grinch-ian and reminded me of The Beauty and The Beast and that was my favorite thing because I'm a total sucker for any tale like that one. It was just wonderful and I absolutely loved it! Although, honestly, I loved all of the Holiday Heat stories! You could truly feel the magic of Starlight Bend in each and every one of these authors' offerings. It was beautiful, sexy, passionate, and so full of love and magic - it's perfect to read for the holidays. I'm a little sad to say goodbye, but I hope they revisit that little town of Starlight Bend because I wholeheartedly fell in love with it! ~ Sonja, 5 Stars

We have witnessed an ugly side of humanity because of political differences. This collection of holiday novellas is a testament of all the positive traits in mankind. The spirit of giving, sharing, and compassion is the theme. These themes should be remembered throughout the year rather than only at the holiday season. It was a purely delightful reading experience. Five authors penned holiday stories about the residents of the small town Starlight Bend. A local sporting store has a Christmas Wish Tree where residents can select a paper ornament and fulfill a wish for a child in need. The recipients of the wish tree are not the only ones receiving a special gift. The adults are also going to receive the gift of love and the opportunity of second chances. Each author wrote a heartwarming story that stood uniquely on it's own. The stories also brought a sense of community. Each story had a different theme. Second chance romance, a hardened cowboy, a damaged and scarred man that lost his faith in humanity, and life choices that could change their world. The one common factor is the power of love. I enjoyed each and every story and could not pick a favorite. Holiday Heat: The Men of Starlight Bend is the perfect way to start the holiday season. Each story is novella length and can be read in a short amount of time. It's perfect for the busiest time of year.

Holiday Heat: The Men of Starlight Bend is an anthology full of heartwarming holiday romances. Though each story takes place in the same place, each story is unique in its own right, as the authors have made Starlight Bend their own and given us characters with diverse backgrounds. I loved the variety of stories included. In Jennifer Ashley's Snowbound in Starlight bend we get a story of two people who couldn't seem more different and have an instant animosity between them, but the spirit of the season brings them together. The Long Gone Girl of Starlight Bend brings us a woman on the verge of getting everything she thought she wanted, but has to choose between it and newfound love. Calista Fox brings us a second chance romance in her story His Angel of Starlight Bend, while Mary Leo's Roping the Cowoby of Starlight Bend shows us that nobody truly wants to be alone, they just need to find someone they truly want to be with. And Lastly Jennifer Probst brings us the Grinch of the anthology in a beauty and the beast rendition. All in all, this anthology has a book for everyone this holiday season. Make it a little brighter and enjoy one or all of these holiday tales.

The mischief is about to get naughty this holiday season. This men are sizzling, the women are bold and the variety is just the right mix of steamy and emotional. Jennifer Probst shows what kindness and a little hope can do with her Beauty and the Beast inspired Grinch of Starlight Bend. Mary Leo's Ropin the Lone Cowboy shows how an open heart and caring soul can work wonders anytime of year. Erin Quinn supplies a voice of reason with The Lone Cowgirl. It summarizes how faith, love and opportunity can be found in the most surprising of places.

This set of stories is really solid. All the characters are great and really well developed. The assortment of authors is stellar. I love how the stories are all connected and yet each so unique. The writing as you'd expect from this set of authors is great. Every story is so easy to read. My favorite story out of the five is Snowbound in Starlight Bend by Jennifer Ashly. These characters were by far my favorite. Their story has great chemistry (they all do, don't expect anything less), but there This set of stories is really solid. I just love a good Christmas story especially when it is around a small town like Starlight Bend with so many wonderful people. Stories that make you smile I've read books by three of the authors who have stories in "Holiday Heat" so I was fairly sure that I would enjoy this book and I wasn't disappointed. I liked all the stories. They are all short stories/novellas so everything happens fairly quickly, but that was alright, sometimes what you need is something short and sweet that leaves you happy when you're finished.

This group of Christmas stories with all of them happening in Starlight Bend will make you want to move there just to feel the Christmas Spirit. All the stories are of Love finding you in Starlight Bend, Montana. There are lonely hearts and broken hearts waiting. There is a Santa Claus that no one knows who tells people their wish has been granted. It is a wonderful, happy Christmas read. It will fill you with Christmas spirit to last.

The Grinch of Starlight Bend Jennifer Probst This was a cute, contemporary take on beauty and the beast. For a novella, there was a solid plot and fully developed characters that I really enjoyed. Joey and Noah had a sweet romance , Charles the butler was the voice of reason, and Sammy the lab..well, he provided warm fuzzies to go along with the magic of Christmas!

Perfect I was hard pressed to pick a favorite from these five . Each one was special. I love Jennifer Ashley and Calista Fox and both of their stories were awesome. Erin Quinn, Mary Leo and Jennifer Probst were delightful surprises. All together these stories are a great little Christmas gift to yourself. So if you like cowboys, snow, strong women and presents treat yourself to this set.

Today, I only read the Jennifer Probst story. It was a cute beauty and the beast story and even if the story was short and fast, we can comprehend the characters emotions. The epilogue was one of the best epilogue I have read this year.
