I discovered Ms. Corder while listening to a Hal Elrod podcast. They were discussing her new book, "You Must Write a Book" and I was intrigued. I have been trying to write a book for some time and her ideas resonated with me. I immediately purchased the eBook version and added the audio for an extra couple of bucks. I listened in the car while driving the kids around and read the book in the evenings. The motivation and ideas in this book are EXACTLY what I needed. If you even have the slightest interest in writing a book... heck, even if it has never crossed your mind... get this book and read it. You MUST write a book!

Very inspirational I had previously read several other books by the author and never been let down. However, having already written more than 20 books, I didn’t initially feel any immediate urge to read this one. Nevertheless, I kept coming across it and decided to give it a go. That was a decision I didn’t regret. Although I have plenty of ideas for other books and can see the benefits from writing a book for your business, this book helped my crystallize which direction I should be heading and Very inspirational I had previously read several other books by the author and never been let down. This book was much less about writing a book, and more about cheering you on to market yourself using a book. Not much specific advice. Many repeated phrases and examples, which combined with it being a short book made me feel like it was lacking value. Example: "You know why you should write a book? It's like a business card, but so much better!" - said two dozen times throughout the book. I made a few highlights for reminders of ideas on how to get reviews early on a future book I might write, This book was much less about writing a book, and more about cheering you on to market yourself using a book. There's some good information in this book and she practices what she preaches, but I felt her intended audiences are business coaches and small business owners instead of more established professionals (experienced doctors, lawyers, accountants). this came across a lot like a book that was just written to sell her services and expand her business more than a book to help new writers. didn’t like: points deducted for two prologues. chapter 1 sounds like a salesperson convention. formatting issues in text on kindle version. super salesy. liked: some decent ideas on spreading news about your book as well as places to leave your book (coffee shops, doctor’s offices, etc.; though you’d have to have the money to buy your book to be able to leave it this came across a lot like a book that was just written to sell her services and expand her business more than a book to help new writers. didn’t like: points deducted for two prologues. chapter 1 sounds like a salesperson convention. formatting issues in text on kindle version. super salesy. liked: some decent ideas on spreading news about your book as well as places to leave your book (coffee shops, doctor’s offices, etc.; though you’d have to have the money to buy your book to be able to leave it all those places).

I'm already an author, but I've enjoyed Honoree's other books so I wanted to see what she had to say. She is a master at productivity and offered powerful suggestions for getting your ideas on paper. Plus, she offered solutions for launching your book and getting it into the hands of those who need it, which in many cases means giving your book out like candy to reap the real payoff later on. Very positive, inspiring, and helpful. I'm already an author, but I've enjoyed Honoree's other books so I wanted to see what she had to say. This book is really informative for those who want to write a book and self-publish it and also piques the interest of those who never have given it a thought. However, the content is rather too repetitive and after a while it feels that the author is not inspiring rather preaching about writing book.

I read this book last October, and also Corder's "Prosperity for Writers" before that. As a direct result, I finished and published my first book that had been languishing in a drawer for YEARS. I have the paperback and audio versions, and have re-listened to this book more than any other in my Audible collection. Buy it and read it and do what it says. I know the author from her involvement in the Miracle Morning book series and I was excited to read this book. Before starting it, I was already sold on the idea because I published my first book in 2017. However, this book still had plenty of insight and instruction to offer! I particularly admire the author's commitment to showing the different ways that a book can help you grow your business. Through this book, Honoree Corder gives aspiring authors the confidence, knowledge and resources to get the book completed and launched successfully. As a first-time author, I picked up several useful tips like preparing a hashtag with the title early in the process, putting the book cover in your email signature months before launch, and setting up the pre-order page.

There are a lot of reasons why you should write a book. In this bestseller by Author/Entrepreneur Honoree Corder, she gives you all the reasons why writing a book is a fantastic idea if you have something to say to the world. Writing a book can open up a host full of opportunities, from speaking gigs to coaching to living the status as a bestselling novelist. As Honoree teaches, it isn't just a book you are writing but, you could create something that leads to multiple income streams for many years to come. Even if you're not a writer, this book teaches you that you can do it without being a professional writer. This is a stumbling block for many authors: not believing they can do it because they are not good with writing words. Why should you write a book? * · a book is the highest form of awesomeness * · a book lives forever * · a book establishes authority * · a book differentiates you from the crowd * · a book has unlimited reach and allows you to expand your market * · a book creates buzz * · a book makes you the ultimate professional In "You Must Write a Book" Honoree takes us from the beginning idea to a finished product and the marketing strategies that can get your book noticed. From chapter 4 the author gives us guidance for the pre-book strategic thinking stage. Before you write a book, you have to know what it is you are writing, and WHY you are writing it. Before you set out to write your first book, there are a few things to think about. As we learn from Honoree, the best action plan for any book is planning to write it. Throughout the rest of the book, Honoree lays out the structure for writing, designing and getting a book ready for publication. She walks us through: * · Outlining the book * · Setting a daily word count * · Scheduling time to write * · Hiring a cover designer * · Finding a top-notch editor * · Crafting the book title * · The best software to use for writing * · Pricing your book * · Platforms for publishing The next section is critical to a book’s success: The Book Launch! From chapter 7 the author gives stellar advice on setting your book up for a successful launch. We can do this as she says by releasing it in as many formats as possible: eBook and print version, audio and hardcover. The BIG launch has many parts to it that all function together to get it to the top of the charts: * · Setting up promo sites * · Creating a pre-order page * · Offering two free chapters to anyone who signs up * · Emailing your list, friends and posting on Facebook * · Create a shareable post using Click-to-Tweet * · Set up Amazon Marketing Services If you’ve ever launched a book, or are working towards it, you’ll need a launch team to get it off the ground. Honoree walks us through the points for putting your team together. * · Recruit your people * · Send the book * · Set up a Facebook page * · Post daily videos * · Update the feed daily * · Encourage advanced readers to…read the book. * · Beg for reviews when the book is live ***The Book Marketing Plan*** [This is where it all happens] The magic happens here. When you launch your book you need a plan for it to succeed. Honoree introduces her Ninja Strategies that are, in my opinion, the core of this book. She introduces the tactics in a way that it sets the stage for authors to keep book sales coming in regularly even months after. Honoree starts with sales goals. In order to make a certain amount each month, you have to sell a certain number of books. She does a great job here at breaking it down from $120,000 a year to just $330.00 a day, or 95 books. Then she gets into the action plans for putting grounding the goals in reality. In chapter 9, “You Must Write a Book”, Honoree gets into the ninja strategies and gives us eight excellent marketing ideas for selling lots of books. She covers getting interviewed on a podcast to becoming a guest speaker, and these are all ays to maximize the content of your book, just like Hal Elrod has done with his Miracle Morning brand. The author makes many more great marketing suggestions on top of what is mentioned such as 'give books away' and using postcards/bookmarks to promote and bolster your brand. As Honoree states, ‘You Must Write a Book, and You Must Start Right Now.’ She ends the book on a great note by giving away tips for getting that book done: set a writing goal, write everyday, create an outline, and keep going until it’s done. This book is a definite must-read if you are just starting on the wiring journey OR, you would gain a wealth of knowledge from the advanced ninja tactics Honoree talks about. There is something for every writer in ‘You Must Write a Book.'
