Think of it like building a car. The car maker decides he wants to use only the best, like BMW, Mercedes and Lexus parts. Once the car maker has all the parts he wants to use, he puts them all together. With a little tweak here and a little tweak there, he gives it his own signature and make it an original. But the tweaking means that some of the parts aren’t meeting up properly and just don’t seem to fit. For me, The Seduction of Kinley was just like that. I really liked parts of the storyline and the characters were lovable and funny but it just didn’t mesh for me. Kinley is a Librarian who has dreams of getting her romance story published. With her manuscript ready, she decides to go to Vegas for a Writers convention to meet literary agents. Kinley is not a great flyer, but the people next to her on her flight managed to distract her enough to get her there in one piece. Happy to arrive at the airport, she is surprised when her brother’s best friend is there waiting for her and informs Kinley that he will be keeping an eye on her as per her brother's instructions. The only problem is her brother's best friend is also the man who rejected her when she was sixteen. He is also the same friend who stole her brother's fiancé…but her brother forgave him. Kinley, not so much. Ian is a literary agent who is going to be in Vegas at the same time as Kinley. He wants to use this time to try and mend fences with Kinley but knows that even though ten years have passed, she still hasn’t forgiven him. He misses her and the friendship they had before everything went to hell in a hand basket. Ian wants to explain everything that happened back then but getting her to listen to him isn’t his only problem. Kinley’s brother gave her script to him to look over and even though her writing style has potential, considering it’s a romance, the sex scenes were bad. It doesn’t look like he’ll have much success with either problem. I liked that Ian read romance and seemed to understand what was needed to be appealing to readers. The setting for the convention and how it played out was similar to a conference I’d been to so that part was enjoyable for me too. I enjoyed reading the parts where we see into Ian’s thoughts and feelings but hated that he never expressed those feelings. I struggled with Kinley’s immaturity. She’s supposed to be 26 but seemed a lot younger. Her issues with Ian seemed over the top and based more on her embarrassment than the injustice to her brother. She hero-worshipped Ian and thought he was amazing but didn’t listen to his side of the story for ten years??? If you really hated a person as much as Kinley says…why would she even contemplate sleeping in the same room as him? Why would she even think to make a bet with him so that he could teach her how to improve the sex scenes in her books? In regards to Ian, we are supposed to believe he’s a DoM? I just didn’t get that vibe. He says that he never lies, but that’s because he just doesn’t say anything. He is one of the worst communicators ever. Ian studied BDSM as research for erotic books he edited, and then claims to have experienced it because a few of his previous women were into it. I wasn’t really convinced. I’m pretty sure spanking a woman’s butt and scowling, doesn’t make you a Dom. Finally the ending…NOPE. She did the chasing. Enough said. So, The Seduction of Kinley had lots of great parts that had the potential to be a great final product. Unfortunately the BMW, Mercedes and Lexus parts all mixed together, gave us a beetle instead. With all the flashy parts, I expected a luxury car and what I got was a quirky little hatchback that needed some adjustments to run smoothly. I’m an Aussie chick who loves to read and review romance, drink coffee, be a Style Setter and stalk David Gandy. To see more of my reviews, fashion, food and pervathons -

DNF @ 51% This is a case of me, not the book. I just could not identify with either main character, especially Kinley and because of that I found it difficult to get into the story. Good writing overall but not for me. ARC provided by the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

It is the age old story... we experience something in our past... either childhood or even more intensly...the teen years...and it marks us deeply. It impacts us as we mature and leaves traces of its stain on every romance and relationship attempted...And if we are honest with ourselves, which is very hard...we, at our most raw... see why all of these things are happening. Kinley Foster is someone who feels things passionately. She grew up with a strong family bond and was lucky enough to have a great older brother who took time with her. She was unlucky, though, because he also had a cute, smart and aggravating best friend Ian Thompson. As all of them grew up... she was the little sister they all teased and looked out for...and even when both Kinley and Ian fell and hurt themselves, it was Ian who took Kinley close, holding her and protecting her till others came. It was then, Kinley's love for Ian was born....and grew until a fateful day at 16. Kinley decided she had to have Ian be The One and went to his place straight after school to declare her love. It became a disaster from the first stumble as when Ian opened the door, to her awkward kiss, to her being turned down (and rightly so as she was 16, he was 22 and trying to do the right thing), to another compromising situation impacting her brother and Ian added to that day. Combine all of the above with undying loyalty to her brother and the scarring was everlasting. Ian Thompson was not the scoundrel the situation painted him as.... he had his reasons for allowing everyone to believe the worst of him. He knew in his heart what was the truth and talked with his best friend telling him everything is not as it seems. Luckily, they were close enough and had the trust years had built for Ian to be forgiven. These two men remained friends. We now meet Kinley 10 years later as a school librarian with a goal of becoming a published erotic romance writer. She has been honing her craft, writing her book and making sure it is ready to be pitched to agents. She has arranged for herself to go to the major romance convention in Las Vegas. She has her list of agents to pitch. She is determined to make it all happen. Only a few things take place to cause some hiccups with her well thought out plan.... Her scheduled plane is grounded...putting her on another flight packed with sex toys party planners. Her brother, concerned about his kid sister, has Ian meet her plane and attach himself to her as her watchdog. Her reservation was not booked though the actual hotel but third party causing her to end up having to stay in Ian's suite. But if all of this isn't bad enough...Kinley still holds Ian accountable for the past and refuses to think of him as anything but a liar. Even though she still has some sort of feelings she refuses to acknowledge besides betrayal...she has insisted her brother never offer up any information about Ian unless she asked ...leading to the huge surprise of what Ian has been doing for all of these years besides being a trust fund baby. It turns out Ian Thompson is a well respected and sought after Literary Agent. He uses a different name because he never wanted to be tied to his family's influence. It turns out he is on Kinley's well researched pitch list. Even worse...her brother gave Ian her manuscript to read without her knowing... When Ian hears that Kinley is going to the Vegas convention, he tells the brother he will be there too... putting in motion a chance to make things right with Kinley. It has been something he has wanted from the start. He is conflicted as his feelings are more than protective and looking out for her... he is haunted by the cute, gangly teen offering up her virginity at his door. Of course he was drawn to Kinley then but she was off limits; she was his best friend's little sister and worse under age. For years he has thought about her... followed her career path and life through questions to her brother. All he really wants is to set things right with Kinley. And one of the ways to do that is to help her with her writing. When informed he has read her work, Kinley digs in and asks... Well... Ian informs her the writing is strong... good in fact...the problem is with the sex scenes and dialog...there is no realism... no connection or chemistry...and advises her to switch to Amish Romance.... What the Hell... Oh, No... Kinley is not having it. She made a New Year's vow...she was going to be free sexually and planned on having some fun right here at the convention. Even her twist of fate with the plane ride opened her eyes to ways to improve her "Me Time" with the purchases she had in her purse. Nope... she told Ian, no Amish sweet romance for her...she would have 4 one night stands to complete her kinky sex education she needed and then apply it to her erotic writing, thank you very much. Which leads us to one enjoyable book about betting on seduction, hot sex between friends you can trust and realizing deep down you are loving the one you are with... Lisa Wells took these themes of friends to lovers, romance writer's convention, Vegas, pleasure toys and private sex parties, stirred the pot with trust, truth and acceptance and sprinkled hope for good measure. The result was a love story with a depth of flavor made to make you smile. The use of the sex toy fairy godmother worked and provided the use of the toys in such a way... where scenes were extremely hot...The way both Ian and Kinley connected worked... so this was no Amish romance... Both characters went through their arcs and we got to see which one was willing to follow through with their true feelings. For those of us you love to read romance, may also go to events and signings... this also was a hoot. It had much of that flavor and insider nods we all love. Enjoy being seduced and give this a try. ***ARC provided by NetGalley and the Publisher*** One of the hottest friends to lovers I have ever read. At one point. I think my Kindle mayhave caught fire. One thing is for sure, if you are going to write a book about an erotic romance author and a literary agent spending a week together and exploring eroticism and sexual chemistry, there has to be chemistry. Well done. Ian is hot. He's sexy, and sexual...he is strong and that strength is appealing...he is powerful, but not a jerk about it. More important, you like him and you completely understand what Kinsey sees in him. Kinsey is funny, and sweet, and so much sexier than she realizes. Saying too much about this one will ruin it...and the whole point of this one is that you live in a world filled with the sexual chemistry while you are reading that mirrors the experiences of the characters in the story. Saying too much about it ruins that. And I wouldn't want to do that.

Reviewed for herding cats & burning soup. There was a lot of cute and cheeky with a side of sass going on in The Seduction of Kinley Foster. And oh he has some things to say about it too. These two definitely have an enemies to lovers thing going on. And it's a cute set up of her brother (the hero's best friend) trying to get them to mend fences after a decade long rift between them and the two winding up sharing a hotel room because of a booking mishap and then in their ire with each other a bet sparking off and agreeing to a week of him showing her all the sexual ropes so she can get some more experience for her writing--since he thought her book was rather lacking in that department. It's a very overdone plot at this point--inexperienced heroine and a hero spending a week sexing her up so she can go about her life knowing how to get someone elses rocks off-- but it can still be pulled off I think. Unfortunately I really just didn't feel it--characters, heat, trope-- and found that a lot of the things that they talked about that were wrong with the heroine's manuscript--no chemistry and lackluster sex scenes--actually applied to the book too. Throw in a weird thing with them suddenly experimenting with D/s and spanking and it just never fell into place for me. It very much read like a first book and someone wanting to pull in the naughty elements of BDSM and not knowing how. Like the hero I was left thinking the book would have been better as a sweet romance rather than attempting to be an erotic one. As for the characters...they were okay. There was nothing that really stood out about them or that will be memorable for me. They bicker, they get all lusty, you see them in their element/world of writing...but there just wasn't anything about them that sparked anything for me other than a few funny quips that had me chuckling. I also had some issues with name dropping. It's set at a romance con and there were a lot of real life authors, editors, publishing company owners, sex toy parties, literary agents, cover designers, their assistants, and their actual companies mentioned. I'm guessing to try and make the readers connect more with it? Like omg I know her or I read her or follow her! kind of thing but it pulled me out of the story and felt awkward and like it was trying just a little too hard :/ All in all, not for me. I've enjoyed others in the series so will definitely read more of them but this one was a miss on almost all fronts other than a cute set up and some funny moments now and again, oh, and a kilted model going comando. Other people are loving this one, though, so maybe check out their reviews too just to see.

3.5/5 There are so many things I love about this series, all written by different authors yet set in Vegas during a Romance Convention. Unbeknown to her, her brothers best friend and Kinley's first love, Ian, is also attending the convention in his capacity as a literary agent. It has been 10 years since Kinley and Ian last had any form of contact, an event that destroyed all of Kinley's trust and views on relationships. An event she has never taken into consideration that she may have been incorrect about. Although I can completely understand her viewpoint based on the circumstantial evidence. Ian, under the guise of aiding her brother in looking after Kinley attempts to rekindle their friendship via the promise of assisting Kinley with her writing. Although Ian projects the douche persona to perfection I found I still liked him, I know weird right. With his hurtful comments and the weight of Kinley's humiliation hanging heavily over the narrative it would be easy to hate Ian. However, there are glimpses into his thoughts and feelings that allow access to the real Ian. There is a vulnerability he doesn't allow many to see, he has deep feelings for Kinley that he hasn't admitted even to himself, his struggle to achieve his own romantic hopes and wished while overcoming the awful incident of the past makes his barbs the equivalent of donning emotional armour to protect his heart from the rejection he feels he deserves from Kinley. Making a deal of seduction and sensual education all in te name of advancing Kinley's writing skills, what could possibly go wrong ;) I firmly believe people are destined to come into your life for a reason, this is brilliantly portrayed with the inclusion of the colourful Charlie and Dan within the plot. A seemingly random encounter of being seat mates on the flight to Vegas following an alteration to Kinley's flight plans places Kinley in the world of personal toys and pleasure parties. I have to say I was a little apprehensive about the way in which this side of the plot would play out but I needn't have worried, a creative tool to use to progress the plot without taking it into uncomfortable territory. Charlie was like a kinky fairy godmother to Kinley, with more than a hint of psychic to back up her advice. It was lovely to watch Kinley blossom and remove her barriers as the story progressed. I always find the ending of these stories a little abrupt but that is only because I become so invested in the characters I want to know what happens next for them. The Seduction of Kinley Foster is a quick, fun romance that will make you too want to go to every romance convention you can get to ;)

I’ve always been curious about the behind the scenes involving writing conferences, authors, agents and editors, so this book sounded like the perfect fit for me. “The Seduction of Kinley Forster” is actually the seduction of Ian Thompson -- Kinley’s brother’s BFF, who also happens to be the man she’s had a crush on for her entire life and a literary agent going to the same conference Kinley is attending in Las Vegas. A writer looking for an agent, Kinley travels to Vegas hoping to find someone to represent her work. When she gets there, Kinley’s first surprise is to find Ian, the guy she hadn't seen in years. The second, he’s going to the same conference and he’s one of the agents she was anxious to meet. This could've been a good thing if Kinley didn’t hate Ian’s guts. The last time they spoke things didn’t really go exactly as Kinley had planned, and what Ian did (or what she believed Ian did) made her see him under a different light. Now she can’t look at him without feeling a mix of anger and embarrassment. So instead of drooling over him like she used to, Kinley is ready to get as far away from her former crush as possible. An impossible task since Ian promised her brother he’d “babysit” her for the duration of the conference – and after he sees how she’s grown into a stunning woman, he’s even less likely to let her get out of his sight. Ian and Kinley share a connection that goes back to when they were very young, which makes it easy to connect with them. When they were teasing each other about the past, I felt like I was truly watching two friends interact. That doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t heat things up. On the contrary, it’s quite clear Kinley’s feelings for Ian are still there, making it impossible for her to ignore him. While in the beginning I thought Ian had never taken Kinley seriously, I came to the conclusion he had noticed her when they were friends and hadn’t acted on it because she was too young and his best friend’s little sister (love this trope). But now that she’s all grown up, Ian doesn’t have as much trouble making a move. Together, Kinley and Ian give us some pretty hot scenes. *fans self* As individuals, I enjoyed reading Ian’s POV a little more than Kinley’s. Maybe it was the whole “guy who reads romances and is a literary agent” thing. He was fun, sexy and smart at the same time, which is always a great combination. Plus, he seemed like a more mature person. Although we didn’t get to see much of the writing conference – this was about the romance, after all -- it was fun to read about Kinley listening to other writers talking about dialogue, how to write sexy books, etc. “The Seduction of Kinley Forster” was a quick, fun and hot read, and I believe people who want to see what happens behind the scenes will enjoy this love story between a writer and a literary agent.

The Seduction of Kinley was a fun, light, easy read, and at times hilariously written. I enjoyed the flirtatious banter between Kinley and Ian. I also liked that Ian read novels, especially the romantic kind. However, I didn't enjoy that Ian seemed to repress a lot of his feelings and rarely, if ever, voiced his opinions. Something that definitely didn't seem to fit well in the novel had to be Kinley's involvement with Ian, when she supposedly hated him, especially when she was "upset" over what Ian seemed to have done ten years prior. If she supposedly hated him for what happened ten years ago then how could she even share a room with him, much less make a bet so he could teach her how to improve her sex scenes in her novel(s). Another thing that didn't seem to make sense is that if Ian was a supposed Dom then why is it that the only thing that is even remotely related to BDSM is light spanking of Kinley's butt and a whole lot of scowling. That definitely doesn't make one a Dom. In the end, this novel was okay. ARC was kindly provided by publisher, Entangled Publishing, LLC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. He has made a promise to his best friend so he'll take care of her for as long as she is in Vegas and then they will both go their separate ways, probably never see each other again. Unfortunately things do not go as planned. And now they are both in trouble... Will they admit their love for each other or keep pretending otherwise? There are many laugh-out-loud moments in this book, some very touching, heartbreaking scenes, and extremely romantic ones too. I enjoyed reading it and hope that others do too. It's the best romance novel (on the more steamy side) I've read in a while. I'd definitely recommend it to all readers. http://www.mineofbooks.blogspot.com/

I loved the twist, or shall we say unusual circumstance, that Lisa Wells put into the overly used friends to lovers trope. To me, it was unique enough to attract me to reading the book. But things don't go smoothly for Kinley in that department way back then (as they mostly never do and as it should be lol). Now it's present day, a decade later, and unbeknownst to Kinley, she is about to come up close and personal with Ian once again ... and in my opinion, in a very unique circumstance kind of way. I LOVED IT :) This is a story of taking chances, letting the past go and embracing the future. It was humorous and heart-warming and just plain sweet. ARC received for blog tour review

The story was a smooth build up with a splash of spice. I really enjoyed reading this book. A cute book that was a 4 star read for me. I loved this book. Ian and Kinley had my interest peaked from the very first chapter. The barbs they traded were hilarious, and a great form of foreplay. But Ian also wanted to clear the air. Underneath his fine and hot exterior was a man with a loving heart and major attraction to his best friend's little sister. My goodness they were cracking me up with their banter. The What Happens in Vegas novels are enjoyable reads for me. The writers, location and heat have cast an unbreakable spell on me. However, Ms. Wells takes the gold medal with The Seduction of Kinley Foster. There was not one scene that was not immensely funny. With a name like Kinley you know the story is going to be unique. 4.5 stars - What a great story! I enjoyed reading next to the pool over the weekend - super quick, enjoyable read! The writing was very smooth with just enough steamy scenes for my liking. The author had me wanting to strangle my Kindle because I wanted Ian and Kinley to realize what was in front of them the entire time! Humans can be so hard-headed sometimes! To her surprise, the man she hasn't seen in ten years who picks her up at the airport is none other than Ian Thompson. He's every bit as handsome as she remembers. One debacle leads to another and she has to share a hotel suite with him. What a surprise to find that Ian Thompson is actually the acclaimed literary agent, I. Hartley. Kinley is in over her head after an indecent proposal from Thompson where he promises to teach her what she needs to know to write steamy romance. This is an off-the-charts steamy romance with a little light BDSM and a lot of hot sex with a series of missteps and mishaps. I won't leave a spoiler, but I will say I enjoyed this light read. It's a great way to escape from reality!

Heroine: McKinley Foster (goes by Kinley). Librarian who wants to become a steamy romance author. Travels to Vegas to attend a Romance Writers Convention and runs into her former crush/brother's best friend. Despises him because of something that happened ten years ago but still harbors a crush on him. Inexperienced in the bedroom. Hero: Ian Thompson. Literary agent at the Romance Writers Convention. Best friends with McKinley's brother. Tasked by her brother to watch out for her that weekend, read her manuscript (which he gave him) and clear the air between them. Likes spanking his bedmates. When Kinley runs into Ian at the Romance Writers Convention, she's furious because she's still hung up over what happened ten years ago. After a hotel room mishap, Kinley ends up sharing a room with him. When she learns that Ian is an agent at the convention, he confesses that he's read her manuscript and thinks she should stick to sweet romance; because there's no chemistry between her characters. Kinley disagrees and thinks that with some guidance, she can write the chemistry into the book. Ian and Kinley make a bet that if Kinley can seduce Ian, he'll help her write those scenes. Ian underestimates Kinley and soon they are sharing a passionate love affair the whole time they are at the convention. What will happen when they leave? Will what happen in Vegas, stay in Vegas? I liked this book. I love a good enemies-to-lovers, brother's best friend story and I thought the ending was cute.

One, to become a successful romance author, which is why she's heading to Vegas to attend a Romance Lovers Convention. Two, to remedy her lack of a love life after her last breakup. Ian, her older brother's best friend, the man who rejected her ten years ago, is in Vegas as a favor to her brother, Jack, to keep an eye out on Kinley. Ian, a literary agent, who started representing romance writers after learning of Kinley's dream, also wants to help her achieve her dream. Kinley hasn't forgotten nor forgiven Ian for how he treated her ten years ago. She also blames him for her brother, Jack, and his fiancée, Stacy, breaking up. A situation which did not happen as Kinley has always believed, yet continually refused to let Ian explain. She completely wrote him out of her life that night. When Ian offers to help Kinley with certain aspects of her writing, she sees her chance to finally get her sexy time with Ian and some experience to help spice up her writing, while remaining emotionally distant. Well that's the plan, at least. As for Ian, he sees this as his chance to finally be a part of Kinley's life again, a moment he's been waiting ten years for, to earn her forgiveness. Ah, things are not going to go as planned for either of them. *cue evil laugh* What starts out as an arrangement quickly becomes more for both of them, though neither admit it. But what happens when a situation comes up that forces them to take a chance on making their relationship into a real one? Will Ian chase Kinley, proving his love for her? Or will he hold back his feelings, afraid of what her answer may be? Will Kinley's experiences with Ian help strengthen her manuscript? Will she find an agent to present her? Will she get a shot at achieving her dream? Will Ian and Kinley realize they have something special, something worth fighting for? One-click now and find out. This is a cute story with an interesting premise and it was obvious these two were destined to be together, they just needed some help to reconnect. On a side note, while it didn't detract from the story per se, there were a few things that I could've done without due to my personal preferences. First, there were numerous references to Ian's past sexual history and how frequently he went through women. Yeah, I didn't need to read those as we're supposed to be visualizing him with Kinley, therefore those reminders, in my opinion, take a little away from the focus of the couple. (This type of thing always drives me nuts. Especially when said "reminders" are regarding one character only.) Secondly, there was an event, orchestrated by Charlie, a woman that had befriended Kinley on the plane ride to Vegas, for Ian and Kinley to attend. Charlie's intentions were to help them realize the depth of their feelings for each other, to get them both to admit that what they have is real. While I understand the reasoning behind the situation and yes, it did nudge them both towards emotional epiphanies, I feel that it could've been done a different way. For some reason, and I honestly can't pinpoint why, but this part bothered me. I know Charlie, and her husband, Dan, planned things out, and let Kinley know the plan, so as to force Ian to admit how he feels about Kinley, but this whole particular situation just didn't sit well with me. I didn't care for it and was a little nervous reading it. Perhaps it's because I was wondering the whole time how far it would go in regards to Kinley's lessons and what all she and Ian would experience at the event. Or maybe it was one of the co-conspirators and the part she had to play with Ian (again making me nervous how far it would go) to get him to admit his love for Kinley. Again, I'm just not sure what it was, yet I know it rubbed me the wrong way and I would've been happier if their revelations were achieved in a different set up. **I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

Ian was misunderstood by Kinley and she took a situation she didn’t know about and rolled with it. than when Ian wanted to explain she wouldn’t let him and cut him off. Cold turkey. She just couldn’t forgive him. What hogged my hooters there was that she listened to the girl and forgave her and than went and hated on Ian. So wrong girl for there are two sides to every story and yes one of the parties was your brother but you knew Ian and just threw him away like yesterday’s trash. So so wrong. And than when you meet up with him in Vegas you weren’t very kind to him. Even as you got to know him and fall for him you didn’t exactly treat him with kindness and show that he was more than just a mentor. Ian was great. He was in love with Kinley since they were kids. He held off because of her age at first and because his best friend is her brother. He tries now to stay away as well but can’t. He wants to help her with her book but she doesn’t want his opinions but his mentoring. Mentoring in romance and in bed. Apparently she is not well versed in writing intimacy. Even after meeting the sex toy sales people on her plane ( a hysterical moment) and them helping her seduce Ian so he will mentor her she is stunted in her romance writing. It isn’t until she writes from the heart and what she is going through and feeling that her book starts to heat up. and this is due to Ian. Ian is great he tries so hard to fight his feelings. When at the end of the time in Vegas, Kinley walks away it hurts him. she has crushed the man. He doesn’t go to her though and it takes her reaching out for him to believe in her feelings. Even than he is a little reluctant. What broke their arrangement and had Ian see his love for Kinley and that he wanted more? They went to a private swing sex party that her friends from the plane arranged. At the party she kept pushing his buttons and he tried to reign himself in so she could get what he thought she wanted. In the end this hurt him more not only with Kinley but with himself. This story is fun and sexy. We having intimate sexy steamy moments and intimate sweet moments. What bugged me was how Kinley never really forgave Ian and it isn’t until he forces her to hear his story that she forgives him. He shouldn’t have had to force her, she should have trusted him and listened all those years ago and when they first saw each other. the scene at the club was classic. Watching these two fall for each other and having Ian try to constantly do what he thought was right was precious and hard. Hard because Ian was trying to respect his friendship and also protect his heart. Hard because watching Ian try to get Kinley to forgive him and get past her anger and hatred was sad to watch. he is really a good guy even if at first she didn’t see it. Their time in Vegas will have you need a ice cold shower. They are sexy and sinful like the city. Her actions at the end of the time has you sad and watching Ian try to come back from it was heartbreaking. Truly he didn’t deserve all Kinley put him through. In the end we do get a HEA from this fun exciting and entertaining sexy book with characters that have you growl (Kinley in the beginning), and fall in love with them as you watch them change and fall in love with each other.

Thisis why I'm also confused by it. The story of Kinley and Ian brought about a sense of nostalgia for me which is the STRANGEST feeling I have EVER gotten from a romance read. In Seduction, Ian is Kinley's big brother's best friend. Kinley has known Ian since she was a kid (he is 6 years older than her) and has harbored much love for him since then. However, due to some misunderstandings, Kinley has hated him since she was 16 and has tried (and failed) to forget about Ian. I'm gonna tell you what happened because I need to process it. No worries, skip this part if you want to be surprised, I'll start a new paragraph to continue after this. So, apparently when Kinley was 16 years old, she arrived at Ian's place and promptly tripped into his arms, kissed him, and asked him to be her first. Ian, never forgetting their ages, and that she's his best friend's little sister, tells her "no." Kinley is understandably stung at the rejection, but to make matters worse, a naked girl comes out of Ian's bedroom. I won't tell you who the naked girl is - she's pretty important to the story. So - why the nostalgia? Obviously, to me anyway, I did not do what Kinley did, BUT I do remember that age when it wasn't difficult to put yourself out there. Of wearing your feelings on your sleeve, and the decision of placing all your expectations, dreams, wishes, and love in this one person in the sheer hope that the person, who has your heart in their hand, will tell you that they love and want you too. It also brought about the crushing reality that is rejection - in the only way a 16 year old can really understand. So this story really took my feelings for a whirl - it's the ultimate kinda-revenge fantasy where everything that wasn't or couldn't be said as teenagers/kids is fair game as adults. It's the ultimate, what if. It also did not hurt that I loved our heroine and hero. Kinley is the perfect amount of sass and romance geek. She is someone who takes her dreams seriously and looks to be better and better with each experience. Ian is sweet, hot, sometimes an arrogant jerk (but not really) who decided to forge his own career path than to fall into the family business. And he's good at it. Their banter is fun, and even their jabs at hurting the other with memories was interesting to read. I loved this story about two people who are oblivious and afraid of their feelings. It's such a human thing to read about. This book kind of broke my rules for what I usually enjoy in romance reads (I don't want to tell you - just think really hard about the stuff that I usually hate in romance books...). If you like stories like this, pick this book up. It has skyrocketed to my number one fave for romance reads. I looked into other Lisa Wells books, but did not really come up with any :( Let me know if you find one I missed!

This is the first novel I've read by this author, and after reading it, I know it won't be the last. Kinley Foster is a librarian who wants to write romance novels. When we first meet her she's on her way to spend 5 days at a romance convention in Las Vegas, hoping to find an agent for her erotic romance novella. While she's waiting at baggage claim for her suitcase to appear, it's picked up by someone standing behind her, and it's someone she's shocked to see--it's her brother's best friend, Ian Thompson. Ten years earlier, when Kinley was just 16, she'd gone to his apartment and offered her virginity to Ian, who was 22 at the time. He turned her down flat, and, even worse, while she was talking to him, her brother's naked fiance walked into the room from Ian's bedroom. It was the end of her brother's engagement and the beginning of her anger and outrage at Ian. Ten years later she is still enraged and embarrassed at the way she'd thrown herself at him and at his rejection of her, as well as his betrayal of her brother. As if this unexpected meeting didn't rattle her enough, learning that her brother had asked Ian to keep an eye on her was another blow to her and the hits just kept on coming. Not only does she learn that wealthy Ian had turned down his chance to run the family business empire, he instead became a literary agent under a different name, and, oh, by the way, her brother had already sent Ian a copy of her manuscript. When she asks for his opinion, he tells her that she's a very good writer, but that her sex scenes are utterly bland and boring, that he guessed she had little if any sexual experience and that she'd be better off writing sweet Amish romance novels. His throwing down the gauntlet leads to a bet--he'll spend the next 5 days teaching her about kinky sex and she'll rewrite the sex scenes in her novella. If her sex scenes are more intense and titillating after his instruction, he'll recommend her to another literary agent, since he doesn't sleep with his clients. Here's the clincher, she has to seduce him to the point where he won't regret breaking the guy code by sleeping with his best friend's little sister...and the game is on! Lisa Wells has written two entertaining, clever, smart and sassy characters and this novel, which, in addition to being very sexy, was a delight to read because of the excellent dialogue and sizzling chemistry between Ian and Kinley. If her other books are anywhere near this much fun, she has a new fan in this reader.
