I received an advanced copy of this book, in e-book format, from the author. I have already read the first book in the Whispering Bay series, taking place in a small northern Florida town. This is a prequel to the series. It is well written and the story flows nicely. I enjoyed learning the back-story of some of the characters. This happnes to be Kitty and Steve's story. A nice quick read that I believe any romance reader would enjoy.

This is a fun, sweet, sexy read that kept me completely entertained! The relationship between Steve and Kitty was so intriguing and you couldn't help but pull for them. I recommend you grab a copy of this one and find out how they end up! You won't be disappointed.

This was a short story that help build the foundation for the series that was just completed. Parts were repetitive but it was okay as it let you know how groups and relationships were formed. Not the best story in this series but still entertaining.

This book filled in some of the blanks in Kitty and Steve’s relationship but the friends and townspeople were characters we’ve met before including those we know as the Bunco Babes. It was a quick read at only one hundred and ten pages. It was interesting that at age 35 Kitty bowed to peer pressure when her friends thought her relationship with Steve was at a dead end. She started doubting everything and blindsided him with her actions as did their friends and neighbors who started treating him differently. Steve had been married three times before and they both went into the relationship knowing that he never wanted to get married again. But all her doubts and insecurities were blown out of proportion the longer she thought about things and it didn’t help that Steve and she did have problems communicating whenever feelings were involved but the loving was oh so good and always in the forefront. Enter her dad who finally meets his love match and she really spirals out of control. There were family and friends, businesses, small town living, angst, anxiety, fear, tears, emotional highs and lows, exes, happiness, romance and love that was often overshadowed. There was nice closure and several happily ever afters. I was happy to see that there will be another book in the Whispering Bay series, This Can’t Be Love, and I for one can’t wait. I loved the cover of the book but not sure it was representative of the story. Favorite Quote: “Sorry,” she added in a voice that implied she wasn’t sorry at all, “but from now on there’s an extra charge. No free milk here.”

The Best For Last is a fast paced and witty prequel to the Whispering Bay series by one of my favorite new authors of contemporary romance who specializes in exploring the glorious and mystifying differences between men and women and the way that they do, and don't, communicate with each other. Whispering Bay is a small town whose residents are both a treasure and a nuisance and, in Kitty's case, a meddling bunch of girlfriends who get together once a week to play Bunco and gossip about everyone in town. In between games and alcoholic beverages, the girls have an agenda and when they set their sites on getting Kitty married, you and I know that this isn't going to end well, and it doesn't. Kitty and Steve have a wonderful relationship and a terrific sex life and it's no secret that Steve has three ex-wives and has no intention of getting married again. The girls mean well. They just want Kitty to be as happy as they are, but their plan backfires and suddenly Kitty starts to have her own doubts because Steve has never said those three magic words and she really needs to hear them. What follows is a delightful story with emotional twists and turns that will have you glued to the pages until the you find out how this love story ends. You will fall in love with this couple and with the busybody town of Whispering Bay and will want to read the rest of the books in the series. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I absolutely love this author and this series and I think you will too.

I was provided an ARC of the book by the author in exchange for an unbiased review. A light hearted novella with a HEA. Kitty loved playing Bunco with her friends but she didn't like being the topic of discussion every time they met. She and Steve were doing fine as a couple - they were in no hurry to tie the knot. Her lady friends took exception to that and decided to let him know they were displeased. Their method was not blatant but eventually he realized there was something going on. Then Kitty's dad announced at dinner that he was getting married and the lady wasn't one of the bimbos he had dated over the years. Kitty drank a bit too much in celebration and in the morning, found out that they not only were staying with them, Steve and Kitty had agreed to plan the wedding! Steve has three ex-wives and never finished high school but made a fortune in construction. So why can't he figure out relationships? He and Kitty live in his house and things were going just fine, until they weren't. After the wedding, he plans to make things right. In the meantime, he ends up moving to the house he shared with an ex-wife, with whom he stills does business, and things with Kitty start to go south. He ends up talking to a psychiatrist and that makes things worse in his mind. He's got to figure out a way to keep Kitty without losing himself in the process. Can he do it?

The Best for Last by Maria Geraci is a delightful quick paced novella. It is Kitty and Steve’s of overcoming marriage failure on his part and meddling friends and family on her side. I love my visits to Whispering Bay where people care for you and don’t bother to hide their nosiness. From beginning to end it is quite evident that the entire community is involved in Kitty and Steve’s romance. The secondary characters add to the atmosphere making it a richer and fuller story. I received a copy of this book in return for leaving an honest review. This is the prequel that beats all prequels. We have seen Steve and Kitty in all of the Whispering Bay books so far, so it was only fare that they got their own book. Even though we already know that they get together, seeing everything that led up to that, was just wow. Like I said we know, but I seriously was having issues with with the happenings leading up to it. Will they? I wanted to ring Steve's neck a time or twelve. Kitty and Steve have been together for a year and neither has spoken the "L"word in all that time. The main characters of this book are Kitty Burke and Steve Pappas, living in a small coastal town in Florida. They have been living together for almost a year but neither has mentioned love. Are we afraid to move ahead because of our current situation or do past failures stop us from moving forward and letting down our guard? When I first started reading this book, I was very confused. I had already read other books in the series, and things did not make sense, until I then noticed that this book is a prequel. Then all was well. This is the story of Kitty who is celebrating her 36th birthday, as well as being her fathers best man for his wedding. Steve is a three time divorced man that has been with Kitty for the last year, but does he love her? The Best for Last is Maria Geraci's newest novella. I just loved this story. It takes place in Florida in the beautiful beach town of Whispering Bay. Kitty Burke and Steve Pappas are a couple. Kitty wants to marry him and have a family. Steve is in no hurry to get married again. He has already said I DO three times. In fact Steve never wants to get married again. This was a really sweet story set in the small town of Whispering Bay, Florida. I appreciate that the main characters, Kitty and Steve, are in their middle 30's. They were happy in their relationship until Kitty's friends and town gossips have her questioning everything. I'm looking forward to reading more books in the Whispering Bay romance series, but I had no trouble reading this as a stand alone title. An ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an unbiased review. This was a really sweet story set in the small town of Whispering Bay, Florida.
