A great, high-action Texas story. Loved the romance and the bits of humor and western twang woven through it. If you enjoy historical westerns, you'll love this one! This is a Christian/western romance and is a really good story about forgiveness and God's grace. Sam ran off five years ago and left Cathrine pregnant and alone. She had to fend for herself and their son. He returns after five years and wants to pick up where they left off. She has other ideas, like never letting him close enough to hurt her again or to hurt their son. She has problems of her own to deal with namely the General and his group of bad men. I loved how Ms. Barnes wove meaning and scripture into this book without being preachy. What a refreshing read! I highly recommenced this new author!

Crystal Barnes’s first novel, Win, Love Or Draw, takes the reader on an exciting journey to Cater Springs, Texas circa 1877. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It had everything I love, a strong leading woman, a handsome cowboy, and really great shootouts! The book is also a beautiful love story, with a common thread of forgiveness running through the pages. Barnes shares my love for the great State of Texas and it comes through in her writing. This is the first volume in Crystal Barnes's Marriage and Mayhem series. I read book two first (I know - backwards!). I enjoyed this book immensely. The main characters are strong, yet struggle with issues of trust and forgiveness. I haven't read many westerns, and I learned quite a lot about life on a ranch in the Old West. There are several touching scenes, especially the one where Sam and Catherine learn what waltzing and marriage have in common. Crystal Barnes book Win, Love or Draw was a very good book to read. She has a refreshing way of writing. Sometimes we need a little guidance from God in our daily lives & she inserted this into her book with her characters I found it to be inspiring for a new author to do this, not the same way of presenting your story. It was awesome, you must read her book.

A Great western romance This book snagged me from the beginning. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and how they developed their relationships. This book had 2 parts to it. I almost expected it to end after a standoff, but there was more. I'm glad I got to see more of the story and how the characters learned about forgiveness and mercy and how to better their marriage. The waltz now has double meaning for me. Highly recommended to anyone wanting a clean Christian western romance. A Great western romance This book snagged me from the beginning. Sure was a wagon load of excitement in this story. Sam finally came home to his family. There were unending dangers in store for them all. Cat's and his faith in God helped them survive them all. Inspiring story This is a delightful story with a message of faith. Coming back together and facing so many trials in a short span of time placed a great strain on this couple. Good writing.

This was such a powerful book! Five years ago, Katherine and Samuel were good - or so it seemed. But then he left. Now he's back. And things will never be the same...ever again! Katherine isn't so sure that Sam's being back is a good thing. He broke her heart and left her pregnant. Now he wants to return to their husband and wife status. It's a true western with a couple great shoot-outs, lots of suspense and action, and some great old-fashioned romance thrown in! The topic of sex was introduced (after all, they were a married couple), but very few details were given "(the most given was that he fell asleep after being with her). I thought the book was sweet and things were resolved nicely.
