The explosion ends up badly for Theo’s mother, who succumbs to wounds, but Theo survives the explosion unscated and even manages to steal the painting. After his successful escape from the Museum, Theo’s life will turn to, what will seem very often as, unfortunate and dangerous paths. The novel is filled with twists and turns, which will prevent its reader from ever get bored and even though the novel seems a bit cumbersome, its content will justify its number of pages.
