An entertaining mystery leading to murder, albeit one that was easy to solve. Clean read.

"Pedestrian" I didn't enjoy the style of this one. Where were the thrills, the excitement, the urgency to turn the page to find out what happened next? There was too much explanation of what happened after an event, or prior to the event. I was disappointed, considering the build-up in the Preface. "Pedestrian" I didn't enjoy the style of this one. Couldn't wait to finish ! Poor grammar, idiotic predictable dialog, trite and I believe Hemmings dug a hole that needed so much explanation for what everyone reading probably presaged...the base of the operation was easily calculable....even with my limited knowledge of police work or creative writing prowess. It is difficult to suggest anyone read this excessively long poor imitation of works by better writers. Couldn't wait to finish ! Well, if you're looking for a clean, enticing, funny, gotta-read-it-all-in-one-sitting cozy, you'll find it in here. Bye, I have to get started on Book #3.

Incidences of severity and calculating or kindness and thoughtfulness, he displayed a keen instinct through it all. In the twenty-two chapters, the unorthodox relationship of Kane and Lucy and their acceptance of each other's likes, patterns and freedoms displayed a contented and endearing love. Good pacing, a nice wrap up of the crimes and an honourable ending were appreciated.

Totally gripping I read this book immediately after 're-reading the first book in the series. I was so totally gripped by it that I read it in about two days. I think the reason I enjoy the Mark Kane series of books so much is that the storylines are different to the norm. They don't just rely on the age old formula of man kidnapping, torturing, killing woman. That said, there is a kidnap in this book but even that does not follow the norm. This is a series I am definitely going to follow to the end.

ICE by John Hemming s is indeed a thrilling detective story and a n=must read for anyone who writers simulating they style of Chandler and Spillane. Like those masters Hemmings writes good, no, not good, great hard-boiled, two fist-ted private eye fiction. Even the dialogue resembles that of the Chandler and Spillane characters. Great job John, am looking forward to reading more of your books in this series.

A truly good read. Characters are believable as is the plot. Story runs smoothly with good writing. A pleasant read as there is no vulgarity, brutality, or cheap sex to divert from the quality of the story It is really like reading on the level of chandler and the old style writers where you have to think as you read. And of course there is a twist here and there plus a surprise ending!

Good Read This book was a good read for a rainy day. It was a mystery that became more complicated as you progressed through the book. By the end of the book, more characters were guilty than not. It all worked out in the end. If you enjoy a light mystery, be sure and read this book. I would give this book a 4.5 rating of I could.

BOOK NEEDS A REALLY GOOD EDITOR!! I couldn't get past the first 3 pages, before I stopped reading the book. If you are going to write a book, at least know how to write a proper sentence. Even I know that, there is not to be more than one "And" in a sentence. If there is more than one "And" in a sentence, then it is a run on sentence. BOOK NEEDS A REALLY GOOD EDITOR!! Nothing but trubble As a mystery novel there are the who, what, where, when, and why. The storey is quirky at times even funny .l personaly don't care for a lot of filler, there seamed more filler than storey instead of the other way around. The storey was great just to much filler. The mane caracters are fantastic and as I said the storey is solid. Kat Nothing but trubble As a mystery novel there are the who, what, where, when, and why. Very well written PI novel without all the gory details and vulgar language. Very engaging, this is one of those "don't want to put it down" books. Nice change. This was a very nice change from the standard mystery story with this being a 'doesn't story. The intimate details are not needed to tell an intriguing and good mystery story. I rate this a 4.5. A bag is stolen from the airport and a private investigator is hired to find it. With lots of luck, he does. Bug then murders start occurring leading to drug smuggling into the US. This was a fast, easy to read mystery.

Thriller I loved the way this book’s twist and turns took me. Kane and Lucy make a great team and it’s funny how she try’s keeping Kane on the straight and narrow. Just like the book. The person behind everything made me shake my head. Excellent

F###-free suspense.... I'm not a prude - I use f### as much as the next guy, but I would rather not stumble over the word in the course of listening to a book. Brian (GBR) has no problem with the word. I would rather not hear his British text to speech encounter the word. F###-free suspense.... Fast read I got this book not knowing it was book 2 of a series. However it read like a standalone. I got it yesterday and, today, I finished it. I thought it was well-written and there were no typos. I thought it was as advertised a nice, clean mystery. I would recommend it.

Ok story with the familiar main characters & a couple of small twists but nowhere near as good as book 1. Feels like this book was rushed out & still needs a bit more editing to shape the story

Clean detective story Cursing to a minimum. Sexual acts were not described ad nauseam. And, a whopping good story. Can't ask for much more, can you? Clean detective story Cursing to a minimum.
