This cookbook is... kind of weird. There are a lot of great recipes and pictures of the food, but there's some issues. A lot of the meals are complicated and the ingredients seem a little unobtainable with no real offers for substitutes. And nothing in this book is scaled down for cooking at home. They're all meant for restaurants so they serve 6-10 people. There's some good information in here, and I do still want to try some of the recipes, but overall it's not the greatest resource. This is definitely a 7 star read. And if you think you can't possibly create Hell's Kitchen worthy dishes in your home, this book proves you wrong. This will be a book I go back to again and again, for tips and tricks or just the inspiration. This is definitely a 7 star read. I loved the layout of basic kitchen needs and it was so exciting to see the recipes I hear about so often on the show. I can't wait to try them out! Super great Christmas gift I got a week ago and already read through it. OK, i mean i didn't read every single page, checked out every recipe and read the ones that sounded good. So many great recipes in here and i TOTALLY cannot wait to cook some of them. Already have like 20 ear-marked in the book. Was super stoked that Ramsay's Beef Wellington recipe is in here! I received this book as one of the winners of the Giveaway on Goodreads. I picked up this book yesterday and it was quite fortuitous as I was meeting a group of "foodie" friends for lunch so I brought it along to show them. We were immediately impressed by the look of the book. The photography is beautiful and you get a great idea of what the final dish can look like. Anyone who finds the show itself to be too brash can find solace in the pages of the book. It is well laid out and offers great hints to the novice and even ideas for a more seasoned home cook. Most importantly, the style of writing is supportive and encourages the reader to get outside their comfort zone and try some new recipes. In terms of the recipes, they are well laid out and explained. A major plus is that they are presented as meals so there is the protein and the vegetables all on the same page. On the way home I picked up the ingredients for a few dishes and was pleased with the resulting dinner. I am looking forward to using this book more over the holidays and intend to use their section on "menus" which I feel is a real strength of the book. I especially want to compliment the author(s) for choosing recipes that use various squashes, my favourite veg. This book is a great addition to my collection of cookbooks and, I believe, would be a great Christmas/Holiday gift for any fan of the show or the foodie in your life. I would give 5 stars but need more time to test more recipes!

I received this book free from goodreads, which was pretty exciting because I like Hell's Kitchen and my husband and I love learning how to cook new dishes! The only downfall to this cookbook is not that the recipes are fancy and complicated (what else can you expect from Hell's Kitchen?) but the fact that where I'm from some of the ingredients are impossible to find! I do look forward to expanding my cooking knowledge and learning some new stuff from this book!

Great recipes! I just loved this cookbook. I won it in a giveaway here on goodreads and was beyond excited. The food comes out amazingly no matter what. I do admit that some ingredients are hard to find but nothing a quick google search can't fix. I usually just google substitutes for ingredients that are either too difficult or too expensive to find and the food turns out so good! Even changing a couple of ingredients resulted in excellent food because the recipes are well thought out. Also I t Great recipes! I just loved this cookbook. It has already become my go to recipe book!

This cookbook is made up of delicious recipes and with the beautiful pictures displayed throughout the book, you know exactly what your dish will turn out to look like. Love Hell's Kitchen. Love the recipes. Wish Gordon Ramsey would show up at my door and offer to cook for ma. Just wish the recipes in this book were a little more normal and it was easier to find some of the more exotic ingredients where I live. Love Hell's Kitchen. Love the recipes. Good fine dining recipes, mostly meat-based. Will try the cauliflower stuffed naan. Most of the deserts look yummy.

A little overwhelming but I expected that because it is Chef Ramsey after all. I am still planning on attempting his beef wellington though.
