I liked that the characters are on the older side of the scale and some of the sexy times were hot. Unfortunately, the stories were all over the place except for the third story. I liked the third one best. ARC courtesy of the publisher via NetGalley

Happy Release Day!!!! These are three very short stories in one book. They are centered around lawyers and judges...and all of them are pretty steamy. I really enjoyed Ms. Allure's Playing Doctor and looked forward to reading this one. Wrongly accused in Attorney-Client Privileges, sexy but innocent Beth has nowhere to turn but straight into the arms of hotshot L.A. lawyer, Jon. Can this attorney manage to get her off in time? This one starts with a lawyer getting up close and personal with a lady Happy Release Day!!!! This one starts with a lawyer getting up close and personal with a lady of the evening. One who tells him he can order her to do anything. Then we step into a jail cell full of midnight doves. An attorney, Jon, has offered to defend one of them, pro bono. All of the women scream their sad stories, all but one. He seems to feel a connection with her and agrees to take her case. She says she's innocent...and innocent she is. I really enjoyed seeing these two come together. They both have issues to overcome and it was fun reading their journey to an HEA. Liza reaches a meeting of the minds-and more-when she unleashes her inhibitions and gives herself over to the primal allure of Main Street lawyer Hawk in Of Unsound Mind and Body. Liza and Hawk have an instant attraction that moves into a one night stand. Liza is in town to attend the dedication of a museum set on her family's homestead. Hawk has taken over for his retired father as the attorney for the deal. They live in different cities, so this really can't go any further, right? Well, when it's right...it just is and things will work out. Their steamy one night stand is one upped when they stumble upon each other in an airport...with three hours to kill. And those are some really HOT hours, too! This one is left open with hope for an HEA. Very enjoyable. In Of Writs and Writhing, fearless defense attorney Pat gets more than she bargained for when she goes toe-to-toe with New Orleans' infamous Playboy Judge. When things get heated both in and out of the courtroom, more than temperatures rise. One of the things I found intriguing about this one is that Pat (Patricia) is 44 and the Playboy Judge, Emmit, is older still. Pat is a very driven attorney. She has to win every case. When she comes before Emmit against another woman attorney who depends more on her rack than her brain, she figures she's going to have to fight fire with fire and allows her good friends to give her a makeover. The judge is a by-the-rules kind of guy. No matter what his reputation may be, he's not going to let a pair of glossy lips sway him. Although he does have some truly steamy fantasies about those lips...Pat's lips. It's a good thing he's wearing robes to hide the evidence. Pat has control issues. She needs to be in control of everything since her childhood when she lived with an alcoholic parent. When Emmit commands her to do some things...the relief is amazing. She's shocked she wants to submit. She's shocked she likes it. Pretty steamy for us readers, too! Ms. Allure does for lawyers what she did for doctors in her last compilation. And this one is going to fog up your windows, too. If you want some short stories, that are nicely complete, this is the book for you. Thank you, NetGalley and Sourcebooks, for the opportunity to read this book.

Karia’s Review: To be honest…I was less than thrilled with Playing Doctor. The last story in that book and the last one in this one were the best in the whole set! Pat…what an unfortunate name…is a buttoned up lawyer of 44 who’s last relationship ended 5 years ago. Emmitt, aka the playboy judge is in his early 50’s and is past his divorce antics of trying to show the “who’s who” that he was not as dumped as he was…he is now looking for something real…something real sexy, but still something real! I enjoyed the happy for now with Liza and Hawk…but still, part of me wanted them together with a HEA. The first story, which had so much potential, just fell short of all that it could have been. I don’t even know what it was, but the chemistry between Beth and Jon was there, then it wasn’t, then it was, then…you get the idea. In a short story the steam must be maintained and IMHO…smokin’! Fast, fun and definitely smoking in some parts…the old judge sure knows how to linguistically twist an argument!

Or going to the jail to pick a client like a dog from a pound. ... So yeah. And she's all "zermg! Life change!" No. This should have been last so people would read the other stories. F Second novella - not even sure why I was okay with this ... but I think no imbalance of power? More a formality of crossing t's and dotting i's which make it more ok? She's not really dependent on him - I wish there was more, actually, because I wanted to be sure for SURE they're together FOREVER. (Which I know we're supposed to assume, but I wanted to KNOW - especially since there's all that radio silence and then just the crazy banging in the ... hotel? train? O_o room) Anyway, it works - other than the distance - HOW DO THEY FIGURE THAT OUT?? [So clearly, I was invested in this story.] C maybe C+ The third ... the whole sex show in the courtroom of not really but basically is over the top for me - but otherwise I liked that there was no relationship until AFTER the case was concluded (hallelujah something that was actually right!) and it's sexy, the heroine coming into her own, albeit for a STUPID reason, and the ridiculous courtroom proceedings/prancing... yet somehow it's her growing/breaking out of the too contained self, and he doesn't take advantage other than be a guy ... and he's not REALLY REALLY a playboy *eyeroll* [yeah too much of that lately] - but it's cute. C, C- Overall a D or D- because there is such a thing as ethics rules and professional responsibility, so you know - reality is always a good thing in my book in books. >.>

I say book but what it really is a collection of three erotic shorts all set within the legal profession. Attorney Client Privileges was probably my favourite of the three. The hapless down on her luck Beth stumbles into the wrong place at the wrong time, wearing the wrong clothes and ends up on the wrong side of the law, thrown in Jail. Enter Jon, a lawyer who is under pressure to take a pro bono case by his firm. Seeing Beth, he see’s a quick easy case he can take to fulfil his brief. But Beth’s crappy luck carries on and Jon ends up with more than he asked for. With heavy hints of scenes from Pretty Woman in a sleazy friend, this book still has plenty to offer in terms of quite a hot little story and of looking past first impressions to see what’s underneath. In Of Unsound Mind and Body - Liza flies to attend to her aunt’s estate and finds that instead of the elderly Franklin Ross she’s expecting, his hot son is who she gets. The chemistry between these two is smoking and Hawk certainly creates an impression. Finally in Of Writs and Writing - Pat is stuck. Stuck trying to be perfect, trying to make up for her less than stellar start in life and not realising she isn’t living. A case in front of Judge Stockard, leads to a change of wardrobe and lifestyle, as what starts as her trying to win a case, turns into a complete turnaround in her life and attitude. Whilst I still enjoyed this one, it was probably my least favourite of the three tales. Whilst not perfectly written (some of the words used during the sex scenes weren’t sexy and actually detracted from the scene), there’s still plenty to like. If you’ve got a few lazy hours to wile away with steamy little tales, then pick up this little set, I’m sure you’ll be satisfied.

One of the better eroticas I've read. Each story had an actual plot, character development, and steamy but well written sex scenes that were part of the story but not the whole story. Most of the erotica I've read consist of one sex scene after another revolving around a thin plot and thinner characters. I picked up this ARC at ALA San Francisco in 2015 so it took a few years to get to. Enjoyable and nicely done.

Couldn’t even read it from how cringey it was written. If you’re here for all the smut just find it somewhere else because the story line is soo BAD and awkward. Not to mention the weird robotic dialogue.

Well, not everything can be that bad when a hot-shot hunk of a lawyer takes her as a client pro-bono… even if he doesn’t believe she is not a hooker. But it seems her luck didn’t change completely, as she soon finds out her house-mate, tired of waiting on rent and assuming Beth had run out on her debt, just sold all her things and has kicked her out, basically leaving her destitute and homeless. Jon can’t believe he keeps offering to help Beth, letting her crash at his home even when he’s convinced she’s lied to him and that she is actually, a prostitute. When the truth finally comes out, and Beth’s character is vouched for, Jon doesn’t really know how to apologize for all the assumptions he’s made. He lets Beth stay with him as his housekeeper, and she does the household chores and cooks for him in exchange for letting her stay there. But soon enough, the lines start to get murky and they can’t fight the connection they share and the feelings they evoke in the other. The introduction to this story threw me for a loop. It was kind of hot…but I didn’t understand WTH it had to do with the plot that followed. Finally things were cleared up and it was nice to know that the dude wasn’t out of his freaking mind. Still this story was very enjoyable in that pretty woman kind of way. Rating for this story: 3 Stars Of Unsound Mind and Body This story was hot. And that’s pretty much all I can say about it. Liz is turning her late great-aunt’s farm into some kind of museum and the lawyer handling the papers, is the delicious half-Native American son of her great-aunt’s lawyer. They are hot for each other and have amazing law-office sex. Then they go back to their lives. Then they meet up serendipitously at an airport during both their flights lay-over so they get a room and have amazing hotel-room kinky sex. Then they go their separate ways again. The end. As I said, it was hot but I didn’t really connect with them so, it was ok. Rating for this story: 2 Stars Of Writs and Writhing Ehhhhh… I’m not overly fond of female leads with acute self-esteem issues. I mean, all of us women have hang-ups about ourselves, this I know and accept. But for a 44 year old successful career woman to act like a 15 year old insecure teen… *insert murderous stare*. So, in this story we have Pat, a highly successful lawyer. Now, I may have this wrong, but she is now 44, she has been at her firm for over 10 years and that was her first job out of school. I know I’m not super good at math, but that makes her 34 when she graduated. It doesn’t say anything about her working before law school so I’m going with either – lack of explanation from the author, cryogenic suspension or alien abduction for the loss of time. Anyway, it turns out Pat, although being a damn good lawyer, has a tendency to hide behind baggy clothes that hide her boyish figure and tall frame. She is going up against a sexy bombshell skanky young lawyer, and in front of a Judge nicknamed “The Playboy Judge” no less. *rolling eyes at the mere memory of what follows* The skanky lawyer’s, Candi, game plan is to flirt with the “old” judge to get her win, and as at a certain point it seems to be working, Pat decides to do the same. Now to me this was l-a-m-e lame. Woman, you’re a grown ass lawyer with 10 years of experience, do you really have to lower yourself to that ‘ho’s level? Well, apparently she thought she did. Now insert Pat’s friends intervention for a complete makeover, the knowledge that Judge Emmitt is actually hot for Pat, and them having kinky sex all over the court house. It’s safe to say Pat will not make my list of favorite heroines of all times. Rating for this story: 2 eye-roll inducing Stars. *I received a complimentary copy from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review*

This is my first time to read this author and I'm not sure why I decided on this other than the blurb being interesting at the time. The first in Allure's 'Meeting Up Men' series is about doctors, not sure what kind of doctors but I'm guessing the stories are similar in their content. Even though these are very short pieces they told enough of a story to grab my attention. The first story in the anthology, 'Attorney Privileges', was my favorite. Actress/waitress Beth is in jail when good guy law This is my first time to read this author and I'm not sure why I decided on this other than the blurb being interesting at the time. Actress/waitress Beth is in jail when good guy lawyer Jon shows up and makes her an offer she can't refuse. If she convincingly pleads her case to him, he'll represent her pro bono. Unfortunately for Beth, the reason she's behind bars is because she was unknowingly involved in some kind of police operation/bust involving prostitutes; so now she not only has to get out of jail, she has to convince Jon that she's not a prostitute and get back to work before she loses that job. For Beth, getting out of jail turns out to be the least of her problems. Once she goes back to the apartment that she's sharing she finds out that her roommate has sold her belongings and changed the locks. Jon comes to her rescue and offers her a place to stay. The story line is a bit formulaic but it works in this erotica. I actually found Beth to be a pretty likable character. She has some reasonable angst about her social class versus Jon's. What kind of expectations he might or might not have, that sort of thing. Jon has his own angst considering he's a recently divorced and the circumstance around that. Those emotions didn't get delved into but what we got for the length of the story was decent. I liked the chemistry between Beth and Jon. The attraction was there but the sex didn't happen immediately so that was promising. Rating: B Of Unsound Mind and Body was the shortest of the stories. It was quick and well...quick. Liza has to go to small town Nebraska for her great-aunt's funeral. Hawk, of Native American decent - by his mother's line, is the lawyer in charge of the taking care of her aunt's trust. The attraction and subsequent sex is quick with these two. I didn't care for this story. 1) I'm not a big fan of this kind of dialogue 'his dark skin a wonderful contract against my pale, white flesh'. 2) I really really enjoy some semblance of a plot with the sex. There was zero build up in this, each time Liza and Hawk met they had sex. There's no fun in that - that's just porn. Rating: D Of Writs and Writhing, an uncommon age group in romance much less erotica. Attorney, Pat is 44 years old and she has a thing for the playboy judge, Emmitt, presiding over her case. In his 50s, Emmitt knows a thing or two and he's very aware of his reputation. As a defense attorney, Pat never wants to lose and she's certainly not gone to lose this case because some blond with big breasts and a low case of ethics charms her way to victory. In her defense, Pat decides to fight fire with fire and does a wardrobe change to entice Emmitt over to her side. The silliness that ensues has me laughing out loud. I could just picture these two grown attorneys who happen to be women fighting to win a case not by the law but by their sexual appeal. I laughed so much while I read this but I don't think I should have been laughing. The idea that flat chested, skinny, tall, flat shoes, polyester suit wearing Pat can in a single day transform into a fitted silk suit, push up bra, silk stockings, stiletto wearing vixen is so outlandish. Why not go with the subtle changes over time? But I guess that's too time consuming in this novella. And the whole idea of Pat being known to Emmitt prior to the court case but he only found her attractive enough to have sex with after her makeover didn't leave me with the warm fuzzy feeling of him really liking her personality as much as he liked her new look. Rating: C Happy Reading Folks! Overall Rating: C *ARC provided by publisher via NetGalley for review Posted at www.redhotbooks.com

A three story anthology, the second in this series I have read, that uses the common threads of a slight disillusionment and the legal profession. I’d read the first (Playing Doctor) to mixed reaction, and found some of the similar emotions in this one. The stories in this book are Unsound Mind and Body, Attorney Client Privileges and Of Writs and Writhing. Each story is a quick bite, between 50 and 100 pages with a legal issue or scene/setting at the forefront. The stories in this book are Unsound Mind and Body, Attorney Client Privileges and Of Writs and Writhing. Each story is a quick bite, between 50 and 100 pages with a legal issue or scene/setting at the forefront. Attorney Client Privileges is based on a wrongly accused woman and the lawyer who comes to her rescue, both in the courtroom and bedroom. Jon is attracted to the quiet Beth, and agrees to represent her in her case. But this was uneven for me, attraction and chemistry between the two was never clearly established or even particularly solidly presented, so it was a very on again off again sort of feeling. Jon often felt more predator than advocate to me because of the uneven chemistry, and that put a pall on the story overall for me. In Unsound Mind and Body the connection with Liza and Hawk was palpable, and this made the steam just roll off the pages. The separation between them, living in different cities left me wanting more than a happy for now for this couple, while the legal moments were less important to the overall trajectory – the couple became the highlight here. Lastly was Of Writs and Writing, with an older couple: Judge and Attorney. Both are still stuck in past relationships and proving themselves worthy, but their moments together are steamy and quite unique. The interactions in this story are the best of the lot, with character development that actually feels plausible and reveals as the story moves from courtroom to steam. A toss-up between this and Unsound Mind and Body for my favorite of the three. As I experienced in Playing Doctor, these three stories all have moments that shine, although the steamy moments are often let down from uneven chemistry and character development, usually emotional. Less ‘creative’ uses of euphemisms for body parts (a HUGE pet peeve) and limited purple prose did improve this read for me, but so many missed opportunities to expand on connections, tighten chemistry and provide palpable and logical reasons for these connections leave this solidly in the ok not great reading pile for me. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Lawyer Up by Kate Allure is three short stories with sexy lawyers that is a 3 star read because there is so much packed into it. You can't really beat getting a little of everything in one book with some hot moments in some fun settings. With them being shorts they go fast and hard (hehehe) without much build up on character development. Still you get enough to work with so you can enjoy the fun everyone ends up having. The first story is Attorney-Client Privileges that brings to mind the quote of don't judge a book by its cover. In it Jon is a lawyer who is always looking for the truth, but as with most people in his position it becomes hard to always see the good side people. After choosing Beth out of a jail cell full of prostitutes for a free case to make his law firm happy, he soon finds out that she is the complete opposite of what he had imagined. Beth, with the help of Jon, starts to make changes for herself to better her life after being wrongly accused by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. As they both use each other their friendship grows and now feel a pull for something more. Can these two met in the middle or will the differences in them push them apart. Of Unsound Mind and Body, the second story move super-fast. Liza meets up with a yummy lawyer when she is finishing family business in the middle of nowhere. Hawk is completing a case for his now retired father and turns out to be super direct as to what he wants....and shocker it ends up being the lovely Liza. The two have one heck of a night and then go their separate ways. After such great passion will they be able to meet again with the whole US separating them? Of Writs and Writhing wraps up this book with a read about a "Playboy Judge" and what ends up being sassy lawyer named Pat. Going up against a younger attorney, Candi, who will use whatever she can to win the case is not on the top Pats to do list. Rumor has it Judge Emmit Stockard's attention drifts on to those that play dirty in the courtroom and even outside of it with their sex appeal. The author really tries to make a deeper story line and have her characters grow and build confidence in this part of the book by giving Pat a new look. Even with both of the main characters being older they still have to find out who they are and who they want to be in life. This is a good read as Emmit and Pat discover what they really want and make it happen.

Lawyer up is a 3 part book that is filled with stories of the fun lawyers can have in and out of the courtroom. I received this book as an ARC from Net galley for my honest review Attorney-Client Privileges: Beth is having a horrible day all because of her being in the wrong place at the wrong time. What starts as a simple case changes both Jon and Beth life brining a new meaning to the term attorney client privileges! My review: When I first started reading this story I was very confused as to what was going on. I continued to read and quickly got sucked into the story. I quickly found myself switching from very confused to wanting to wrap my arms around Beth and tell her that everything was going to be ok. Overall this was a great story especially when you get to the end because you see Beth go from this down and out girl to an Amazon ready to face the world. Of Unsound Mind and Body: Liza and Hawk meet in the most romantic way...at a funeral. What starts as a simple drink turns into some very heated office action. At a time when Liza is feeling down and out Hawk helps her realize that life is too short to sit around not living it to the fullest. My review This story was pretty good Liza and Hawk definitely heated things up in this story. Of Writs and Writhing: Pat is tired of being the good girl. When the opposing Lawyers decide to pop open a few buttons and show some cleavage to get the judges attention, Pat decides to fight fire with fire and pop a few buttons of her own. Although Pat expected a reaction; she never thought Judge Emmit would fall for it hook line and sinker! My review: Overall this was my favorite story. I loved how Pat came out of her shell and faced down all of her advisories; showing that yes she can be sexy but she also she is a great attorney. Emmit and Pat were great together and really burned it up in the court room. If you get this book you will enjoy this story big time. I can honestly say that if this was a stand alone novella I would give it 5 stars! Overall review: This book is selling right now for 6.15 on Kindle Amazon. The great thing is if you break down the cost that makes it about 2 dollars per story which is not bad. This is the second book that I have read by Kate Allure and the stories just keep getting better and better. Great job!

LAWYER UP by Kate Allure contains three contemporary erotic romances. In the first story, "Attorney-Client Privileges," a lawyer Jon falls for his sexy but innocent, wrongly-accused client Beth. It opens with a role-play, with Beth playing a prostitute Jon had hired to please him. This scene is narrated from Jon's point of view at the start of the story, and narrated from Beth's point of view near the end of story. What happens in between is uneventful in comparison. I skimmed pages to get to the naughty parts, though there weren't very many. The second story "Of Unsound Mind and Body" is the best written of the three. It moves very quickly and gets straight to the point, with enough description of the setting and characters to feel authentic. The chemistry between Liza and Hawk was sizzling. What started as a one-night stand developed into something real and potentially lasting. Their emotional connection heightened their need for each other. Since they live and work in different cities, their separation added a desperation to their hookups and made their encounters even hotter. The highly erotic, culminating scene involved a hook, tie, and mask. The third story "Of Writs and Writing" was interspersed with teasing courtroom fantasies and erotic dreams, had more character development, but was slowed down by exposition. In this courtroom drama, Pat (Patricia) is up against a catty bombshell, who tries to use all her feminine wiles to get the "Playboy Judge" Emmit's attention and win the case. Meanwhile, Emmit is intrigued by the intelligent and fiercely competitive Patricia, and wonders if there's a sexy siren beneath her practical dress suits. Believing that she's going to lose her case, Patricia ups her game by getting a complete makeover and totally distracting Emmit in the courtroom. Patricia is used to being in control and winning, but finds out that submitting to Emmit's authority is a more just reward. This collection was certainly sensual and erotic, but unfortunately I didn't find the first story as exciting as the rest. *This review is based on an eARC I received from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

5 Stars I was given this book for my honest review Lawyer Up is 3 reads and I have found that doing a individual review for them would be the best so here it goes. Jon and Beth’s journey was amazing and will become a sexual fantasy for some. Jon groaned and rubbed his juddering dick against her pussy again. “I want to make you come with me inside you, but I’m too far gone. I could invite you to the office for a glass of wine or I could make some other excuse to get you alone, but we’re both adults and that’s now how I operate. I want to be direct and to the pint with you. Is that okay?” Yes” I breathed, a sensual haze making talking increasingly difficult. “I want to take you back to my office naked, and make love to you.” Hawk to Liz Patricia and Emmit’s journey is blazing “You didn’t let me explain before when I said our first kiss was a mistake. It’s not that I don’t think you and I would be great together…or that you aren’t the sexiest woman I have ever known.” He chuckled then. “Especially when you’re blazing at me like now. I said it was a mistake only because we werein the middle of a trial. It would have been unethical…That’s all I meant but you left before I could say anything.” The author did one heck of job with these stories. Whoever says fantasies don’t come true then I am sure you’re not reading the right books or that you’re working too hard at making them a reality. Just sit back and let them come to you. Being surprised at the outcome is always so delectable. Kudos to this author. Happy Reading.

Not much setting or character building, but it was enough to set the stage and take off. The chemistry between Hawk and Liza was burning me up! They were hot and had an emotional connection that needed to be explored beyond their one-night of bliss. You could feel their desperation for each other with distance apart being their undoing. If they lived in the same town..... All and all this short story grabs you and you must hang on for the ride until the very end! Loved it! Of Writs and Writing had a lot more character development and wasn't such a race to the finish type book. It's set in a courtroom, a play of wills between the lawyers and the judge. One lawyer is trying to win her case by using her female aspects to get the judge to notice her. The judge, Emmit, however, could care less and is more intrigued with the other lawyer, Patricia. The quiet, intelligent one. Believing she could lose her case because she thinks the judge is smitten with the vixen, Patricia ups her game by getting a total makeover set on winning Emmitt's attention. Again, I loved it! 3 stars/4 flames This book was provided to me by The Jeep Diva for the express purpose of an honest review. Back on December 15, I posted a review of a book called Playing Doctor, by Kate Allure. I liked it. It was 3 light erotic romances, each featuring a doctor. Now Kate has another one. It's called Lawyer Up, and it's 3 stories again, this time, not surprisingly, with lawyers. Much of what I said the 1st time applies to this one too: 1. But there's one big difference in this book. And that is story #3. I enjoyed the 3 stories of Playing Doctor and the 1st 2 stories of Lawyer Up equally well. But the 3rd story of Lawyer Up is the 1st one that features people a little bit older. Patricia is 44 and a lawyer. And Emmit is 54 and a judge. I guess the fact that they are closer in age to me (although still considerably younger!) allowed me to connect a little bit easier. But besides the age connection, or perhaps because of the age connection, I found myself laughing and smiling a bunch. Coincidence? Beats me. But, most importantly, I like the stories, and I like the writing. And even though I'm certainly not philosophically and intellectually opposed to a little physical romance(!), the stories do stand on their own merits. Bottom line? I recommend both books. Playing Doctor is already available, and Lawyer Up will be purchase-able August 4. Have fun, people.

In truth, I only read one of the three novellas in this book. I read "Of Writs and Writing." Up front, I must say that I do not customarily read erotica, but a friend asked me to read this one. I liked the characters, but what I could not understand was how Pat Laroque, a successful defense attorney, could give herself to bondage. I realize I don't understand this concept, and it likely colored my opinion of the story. That being said, I will repeat: I liked the characters (up until the ending). The sexual tension between them was well developed. The transformation of Ms. Laroque from "uptight female attorney" to a softer, sexier woman was fun to read. Being familiar with New Orleans, I could picture some of the scenes in the book.

DNF at 20%. The dilemma of reading a legal book when you are a lawyer is that you are extremely critical of them. I realized by 10% that this book was not likely to fall in line with my legal experience, but I pushed on through for a few more chapters. The storyline of an uneducated girl from Alabama being mistaken for a Hollywood prostitute was just not for me... I think her lapse into hick-speak is "sure as shootin'" what finally killed it for me. I received an advanced copy of this book from t DNF at 20%. Lawyer Up sizzles! As someone else wrote on Amazon, it’s a great beach or vacation read. Three short, quick, and VERY steamy stories. But what’s unique is that each story features different ages for the three heroes and heroines and different locations, a sort of romance travelogue. I particularly liked the story set in New Orleans—makes me want to plan a trip there and try out the places mentioned in the story.

Unfortunately, I'm marking this as DNF. The writing style seems a bit dated to me, despite the fact that the book opens with a pretty explicit scene. I didn't have any context for that scene, so it didn't resonate with me at all. I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my review. No star rating since I did not finish.

The story's were a nice length for a short story. I guess I am just better reading longer books so I can get a stronger connection with the characters. Not my cup of tea, I wanted to enjoy them.
