This is a great introduction to Anne Frank who, in her diary, described life during the rise of the Nazis. The book gives a thorough background picture, from Anne's birth, through to her death and what happened to her diary, Father and friends after the War ended. I commend and recommend this book, as well as the full book 'The Diary of Anne Frank' and would like to see BOTH made compulsory reading for children in schools! Anne Frank is someone that is very famously known today and this book tells us her story. Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who's diary has become very known as it tells the events of the war through the eyes of this little girl. She dreamed of becoming a famous author and although she didn't live to see it, she would have been glad to know that today her name is known across the world. Her diary entries end when her and her family are captured and their hidden spot is discovered. Her diary entries end when her and her family are captured and their hidden spot is discovered. The Nazi party won in 1933, Anne was just three years old and therefore she was not aware of the magnitude of what had happened. I would read this book to my students during a read aloud and from we would have discussion on all the obstacles that Anne, her family and Jewish people in general faced during this time. Students will then have to write a story about how they woudl have felt if they had to live in hiding like Anne did.

"Anne Frank - Biography for Kids" was a riveting and informative read that kept my interest until the end. I have always been intrigued by Anne Frank, and the way her diary portrayed the trials of World War II from a young girl's perspective. This book tells all about Anne, her family background, her aspirations, her friends, and the way the war affected her life forever. I will be recommending this book and the others in the "Just the Facts" series to my friends with school-age kids.
