    I feel kind of dumb saying that I 'read' a cookbook, but it does actually have a lot of not-recipe pages that discuss the diet and how to go about it. Depending on how dependent you are on sugar, the first ten day, or "Wave 1" can be rough. The diet emphasizes the Mediterranean style of eating -- lean meats, lots of fruits and veggies coupled with whole grains (and even wine)-- with a Sonoma twist. Being from Sonoma County, I found her romantification of the area kind of amusing, but it is a nic I feel kind of dumb saying that I 'read' a cookbook, but it does actually have a lot of not-recipe pages that discuss the diet and how to go about it. Depending on how dependent you are on sugar, the first ten day, or "Wave 1" can be rough. The diet emphasizes the Mediterranean style of eating -- lean meats, lots of fruits and veggies coupled with whole grains (and even wine)-- with a Sonoma twist. Being from Sonoma County, I found her romantification of the area kind of amusing, but it is a nice setting for a relaxed glass of wine and how the diet stresses you should slow down and enjoy your food rather than rushing through it. I think it's a solid lifestyle plan if people can stick to it. I'm working on it. I should mention that I think it works for me because I'm not really a big eater to begin with, otherwise the portion sides, which are estimated using a certain sized plate or bowl (which I don't usually bother with) might be taxing.

    I have been on a journey to eat healthier. Before I was the drive thru queen, but after I was told that I treated my body as a trash can I began my journey to eating healthier. After talking to my Nutritionist and told her that I was getting tired of juices and eating salad. She told me that The Sonoma Diet Cookbook would be a great eating plan for me. So after hanging up the phone I went online and purchased this book on Apples Ibooks. I am experimenting with olive oil and low calorie dinners. I have been on a journey to eat healthier.     i suggest going with "The Mediterranean Heart Diet" instead. I thought this Sonoma version by a different author isn't as good for my needs. It focuses on meats instead of whole grains, legumes, veggies & fruits. A few vegetable dishes but not enough. Also some of these dishes pack in more than 1,000 mg of sodium! And don't sound the easiest to make either. i suggest going with "The Mediterranean Heart Diet" instead. I thought this Sonoma version by a different author isn't as good for my needs.     This 'diet' is very much like the South Beach but a little more lenient. I like the Mediterranean style recipes and will keep it for them. I didn't follow the diet per-say but will incorporate many of the recipes into my meal plan. :) This 'diet' is very much like the South Beach but a little more lenient.     Love this book! I have never been one to go for diets, but the food is so easy & amazing that you don't even realize the health benefits you are getting. Everytime I go grocery shopping for a week of these meals, I feel like I'm buying out the produce department! I love all the veggies used! Love this book!     awesome recipes. oftentimes recipe books put tons of strange items in them and/or items that just do not go well together, especially when it is a diet cookbook. I believe this one is a keeper.

    This book has a lot of great simple recipes. Most have less than 10 ingridients. They label those that can be done in 30 minutes or less. I've tried quite a few and all turned out really good.
