Deer's work is a highly personal memoir. Written chapter by chapter over a 20 year period, it tell's the story of her path to come to terms with grief, loss and family abuse while finding a connection and purpose from her God. A short read at 60 odd pages, this story was hard to write but a testament to a woman's bravery to write and overcome challenges. A lot of wisdom and heart packed into 57 pages! I loved reading a memoir written from this perspective - so many lessons learned. I enjoyed the spiritual references as they really demonstrated the process of healing and forgiveness the author was referencing. A well lived life with plenty of insight and selflessness. A good read.

A very spiritual read. Doe Running Deer has found that she has to let go and let God lead her. In the past she has made some decisions that have not turned out very good and are bothering her. She finds she has to share the experience to help herself and others. I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
