5 • "All You Zombies-" • 11 pages by Robert A. Heinlein Very Good+. The bartender is recruiting a man to be a time travel cop. The man bets him his story will beat anything he’s heard before. His story starts out “When I was a little girl...” Exceedingly clever for its time. 20 • The Shoreline at Sunset • 8 pages by Ray Bradbury OK. Tom is thinking it may be time to move on. Chico doesn’t want to hear it, they’ve got a great life living on the beach. A boy runs up to them and describes a mermaid 5 • "All You Zombies-" • 11 pages by Robert A. Heinlein Very Good+. Chico doesn’t want to hear it, they’ve got a great life living on the beach. A boy runs up to them and describes a mermaid lying on the beach just around the bend. Come and look. 28 • Jordan • 26 pages by Zenna Henderson Excellent. Bram is stoked by the arrival of a ship from The People. He is ready to go Home where he can explore his full potential. As the days go on and he is showing Salla what they've been doing he starts to gain a greater appreciation for Earth. Until the day comes when the ship is ready to go and he has to make a decision to stay or to go with it. 54 • Of Time and Cats • 10 pages by Howard Fast Good/OK. Bob isn't crazy. He was confronted by copies of himself and finds out that at five pm he will have gone to Professor Dunbar and helped him replace a circuit board in his time machine. Not this time. 64 • The Distant Sound of Engines • 4 pages by Algis Budrys OK/Good. The patient in the hospital bed next to Lenny tells him great scientific information and forces Lenny to repeat it. He can repeat it, but it’s a trick and the equations aren’t going to stick. People want to leave a legacy, give their existence meaning. 69 • The Certificate • 5 pages by Avram Davidson OK+. Aliens have taken over the Earth. The remaining people work everyday beginning at ten A.M. Once a year they allowed to ask for something. Freeman is hoping to escape. 74 • Three-Dimensional Valentine • 10 pages by Stuart Palmer Good+. Will McGregor is testing the effects of diet on his spiders. He has found a correlation between what they are fed and the webs they create. Cathy is his lab assistant. She sometimes wishes that Will would notice her as a woman, but will is completely absorbed in his work. 84 • Through Time and Space with Ferdinand Feghoot: Xii • 1 pages by Grendel Briarton (Reginald Brentor) Pun. Feghoot relocates a Chinese business man. 85 • The Sky People • 40 pages by Poul Anderson Very Good. The Sky Men fly a fleet of blimps further south than ever before. They are going to plunder a Meycan village which is taken by surprise. It would have gone like clockwork if not for the visiting Maurai ship. As is they only held off the invaders long enough so that a few of them could be escort on Captain Ruori's ship to the next port to the south. Ruori doesn't like running away from the fight. 125 • Will You Wait? • 4 pages by Alfred Bester OK+. A man down on his luck wants to make a deal with the devil. It involves a lot of red tape.

What a lineup of heavyweights! This issue was definitely worth 40 cents! Robert A. Heinlein - All You Zombies--- - 5 stars - The ultimate time travel story. There isn't anything better than this one. Isaac Asimov - Science: Nothing - 5 stars - What really is a vacuum? Does a vacuum exist? If you were to gather together every atom which is contained in the vacuum of space, you would end up with ... ? Ray Bradbury - The Shoreline at Sunset - 5 stars - Heinlein, Asimov, Bradbury, Henderson. What a lin What a lineup of heavyweights! This issue was definitely worth 40 cents! Robert A. Ray Bradbury - The Shoreline at Sunset - 5 stars - Heinlein, Asimov, Bradbury, Henderson. What a lineup! As to this story, how would you react to finding a real mermaid washed up on the beach, still alive? Zenna Henderson - Jordan - 5 stars - The People are contacted by another group from their home planet who have established a new Home. What do they do? Howard Fast - Of Time and Cats - 5 stars - A knot in space/time leads to duplicate copies of a man and of a cat. Many copies! The way that the man's wife responds is the best part of the story. Algis Budrys - The Distant Sound of Engines - 5 stars - You're lying in a hospital room. The man in the next bed is very badly injured and keeps waking up in the middle of the night telling you critical things that he needs you to remember. Then he's gone, but you wake up in the middle of the night ... Avram Davidson - The Certificate - 5 stars - An alien invasion and conquest results in a small remnant of mankind living and working for the benefit of the aliens. Any man is only allowed to make one request a year for any item that he needs. What would he ask for? Stuart Palmer - Three-Dimensional Valentine - 4 stars - How can a female research assistant make the researcher that she's working for finally notice her instead of the spiders? Grendel Briarton - Ferdinand Feghoot: XII - 2 stars - The puns are still going downhill. Poul Anderson - The Sky People - 3 stars - Post-apocalypse America, poor truncation of current names still in use, the Colorado sky people against the New Zealand sea people. Alfred Bester - Will You Wait? - 5 stars - You attempt to make a deal with the devil but, oh, there's a lot of red tape.
