The nephew picked out this board book for counting. He is working on his numbers. This is a simple beginner book. Each page is a different number of ‘Pooh’ things. It’s a great numbers books for anyone who is a Winnie the Pooh fan. Very sweet. He thought it was simple, but he gave it 3 stars too.

This is one the Winnie-the-Pooh counting books from the collection of concepts books. The book includes familiar characters from the Miline classics, such has Eeyore, Piglet, Christopher Robin and of course Pooh. This book is obviously for the younger readers. I would say preschool age children would benefit the most from a book like this. What sets this counting book apart from others is that is incorporates the classic Winnie-the-Pooh characters. I would say preschool age children would benefit the most from a book like this. What sets this counting book apart from others is that is incorporates the classic Winnie-the-Pooh characters. For those children who love Pooh’s stories, they would especially enjoy this book. Because of the familiar characters, children are able to relate to and engage in the counting book more. Teaching numbers to children at a young age can be tricky, so I think using familiar characters, they already love, to teach children numbers is a great idea. The book also uses familiar objects to represent numbers. This is important because in order for kids to truly learn from this book, they need to put all their attention on counting the objects rather than trying to figure out what the object is. This is a common flaw I see in other counting books, using unfamiliar objects. Definitely recommend this book!

Unlike other "inspired by" concept books I've seen, this one does the original justice. (Aletheia's review: "Fortunately I had discovered my Q-tips in time to gently tap them on each page we read.") It’s not a story, but rather just pages with the number and that amount of cute items.
