Want your kids to experience a fun way of learning about samurais and Medieval Japan? This is your book! This is the eleventh volume of the Geronimo Stilton Graphic Novel series and is among my top two of the series thus far. My kids also thought this was one of their top book from this series. The mouse Geronimo Stilton and his family and friends goes back in time through a time machine to Japan in the 1600s to stop the Pirate Cats from changing history. As they go through their adventure readers will see Mount Fuji and Tokyo and learn about ancient Japanese architecture, what is a Samurai, the Shogun and the battle of Sekigahara. This work is quite informative! It felt more than some of the other titles this book’s art work stood out. It stood out for its attention to details. It stood out for capturing the feel of Old Japan. The outfits was well illustrated. The buildings drawn was really well done! It is also well researched in its content! Who wouldn’t enjoy this artwork and story? Well, maybe the Pirate Cats in the book who were thwarted from changing history. How did Geronimo’s gang stopped them? Find out by picking up this book!

I’m partial to Japanese history, but this one had more fact sidebars which made it more enjoyable than some of the later volumes.

This was a fun one involving time travel and lots of history. The books are fun and a bit informative. This one involves time travel to the days of Samurais. The graphic form is growing on me. The pictures are fun and the story is easy to read. Will definitely be picking up more graphic novels this year.

We've read all of the Geronimo Stilton Graphic Novels published so far and our girls really like them. I thought they were very hard to read aloud at first, but I've gotten used to them. And I love that this story includes bits of history from feudal Japan of the first Tokugawa dynasty. This book introduces children to the historical background of the warrior-leaders called Samurai as well as some of the arts of the period. We all read this book on our own. I prefer that, actually, because of the graphic novel format. It was a fairly informative book, but entertaining too, and it was a fast read. We will certainly read more of the graphic novels as they are published as well as numerous Geronimo Stilton chapter books too.

My 8 year old was a big fan of Geronimo Stilton already when he received a free copy of this through our library's summer reading program. It turned out to be his gateway into graphic novels. These short books teach about an interesting episode from history (in this case, feudal Japan) while also being rollicking comic (in both senses of the word) adventures. This is only the second graphic novel I have ever read. I am finding this genre to be a nice break in the midst of some pretty heavy stress. Since I am part of the Japan challenge and this book has several basic facts about Japan explained throughout it grabbed my interest. I recommend this line of stories for all ages.

It is about how the pirate cats have gone back in time and they try to make the empire build what they want to build so Geronimo and his relatives have to go back in time and stop the pirate cats from changing the past.

In this graphic novel version of another Geronimo Stilton novel, the mice gang are sent back to fuedal Japan to figure out what the pirate cats are up to. Lots of nice little history tidbits and explanation of terms. The graphics are nice, colorful, and detailed.

I think it's a really funny book because somebody mistakes someone for somebody else. It's about a group of mice who try to keep a group of cats from changing history.
