I read a lot of business and marketing books, especially those on how to use social media for business. And as someone who helps authors build their online platform using social media, I get asked a lot about Pinterest. It's a site that I've been talking about all year long, so I'm thrilled to finally have a solid marketing book I can recommend that focuses on Pinterest. And as someone who helps authors build their online platform using social media, I get asked a lot about Pinterest. It's a site that I've been talking about all year long, so I'm thrilled to finally have a solid marketing book I can recommend that focuses on Pinterest. This is an excellent book for all experience levels: whether you've been using Pinterest for months or you're just getting started, and whether you have extensive online marketing experience or you're new to the world of social media marketing. This book focuses on the use of Pinterest for all types of businesses and organizations, and it provides specific examples for how to use the site. You'll learn how Pinterest can be of use to service-based businesses, product-based businesses, and nonprofits. If you're an eBay seller, an Amazon author, or an Etsy seller, you'll learn how to integrate Pinterest into your marketing efforts. You'll also learn how to use Pinterest for your school, your church, your local sports team, or your community or government organization. This book provides clear examples on how all types of businesses and organizations can use Pinterest. Pinterest Power will also show you how to run contests on Pinterest, how to drive traffic to your Pinterest profile, and how to drive traffic from Pinterest to your own website. It also provides suggestions for an integrated marketing approach, and explains how to add Pinterest to your online marketing strategy. You'll learn the difference between camptaigns and tactics, and how you can run marketing campaigns using Pinterest. I've been using Pinterest for both personal and business reasons for about a year now, and I found this book to be incredibly useful. I see this book as the definitive guide to using Pinterest for business/organizations, and I've already been recommending it to friends and clients. I'm running an online course next year on using social media for business, and this book will be on my recommended reading list. It greatly exceeded my expectations, and I'll be purchasing a printed copy very soon, as I prefer to have my marketing and reference books in printed format. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is building an online platform for their business or other organization, and who wants to add Pinterest to their list of profiles. Whether you're new to social media or an experienced user, you'll find this book to be very useful. Good luck, and happy pinning! Disclaimer: I received a complimentary ebook copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Good overall start-up business book, but I was looking for more detailed instructions on how to use Pinterest. I do like the tips and ideas of how to incorporate Pinterest into your social media posts, but with the hype and title, I was expecting a lot more.

Did you know that a day has only 24 hours? It’s a lesson I’m trying to learn, and that’s why I love Pinterest Power by Jason Miles and Karen Lacey. Rather than wasting time learning by trial and error—and probably still missing things— I am learning the ins and outs of Pinterest from this book. And now, instead of feeling vaguely lost among the pin boards, I’m having fun. I’m beginning to understand the joy of curating lovely boards and of organizing ideas visually. As a Christian writer and blogger, I could tell that Pinterest could be harnessed as a great ministry tool. I just couldn't quite get it to work the way I wanted. Pinterest Power has been a huge help! I now have a clear understanding of how to connect with my readers through the power of great graphics and pins. The book will probably be most useful to those bloggers and businesses with a product to sell or DIY tutorials, but I was able to glean a lot of great information from the book. There are even sections written for writers, churches, and non-profits. Miles and Lacey encourage their readers to think creatively and then offer solid examples to explain their theories. Even though I first borrowed this book from the library, I will probably buy a copy to keep. It's that helpful!

Pinterest Power is book to help you market your online or offline business. As a regular Jane with an average brain, I did learn new things about Pinterest and how to connect to my business. Although I feel the way it was written was hard for me to understand. I did try some of the techniques at the peak interest on Pinterest but no sales yet. It is has only been a week. I found that The Idiots Guide to Pinterest Marketing was a much better way of learning new things to do with Pinterest.

I wanted to learn how to effectively use Pinterest to market my Etsy store, and to drive traffic to my review blog. This book was very helpful in learning the ins and outs of Pinterest, how to effectively set up pinboards and how to get things seen. I've already noticed an increase in traffic to my Etsy store due to Pinterest, and I've even had a sale directly due to a repin - so I'm calling this a success. Definitely a useful read. Well thought out book The book is a bit dated as the latest reference is from 2012. But regardless it is packed with tons of useful information and tips. The book flows very well and is well written. It is easy to follow but could use some more details and examples. Overall an update on the current information would really make a difference.

Super basic book that is already quite outdated. I can't ding the book for being outdated. If you know nothing about Pinterest, this book will certainly get you started. If you already know the basics, I'd skip this and listen to the Oh So Pinteresting podcast instead. Super basic book that is already quite outdated. I can't ding the book for being outdated. If you're thinking about using Pinterest to market your business (big or small), this book will guide you step-by-step on what you need to do to be successful. A lot of good advice. Have a notebook and pen handy when reading. A lot of interesting ideas but the authors try to make it sound as though Pinterest is the be-all and end-all of social media marketing.
