    * I received this book for free through Goodreads Free Reads* A great collection of short stories and poems. The pictures add an extra spice to the story and help bring them to life. "Behind the Mask" was my favorite in this book, because in some way I connected with it. If you are a fan of well written, polished poems I would definitely recommend this book to you.

Not really for me - I enjoyed some of the short stories such as Pals and the Ordeal but some of the poems felt as though they were personal and meant more to those they were about. Others oftem mentioned God - too much for my comfort. Overall it was all too sweet for me but I could imagine it would do well in the parts of America where there is more of a cultural fit.

**I received this in a Goodreads giveaway** I would never have said I was a fan of poetry and prose, but this little book has changed my mind. There are some lovely little poems, especially enjoyed Mom and the one about the Native American Indian, and there some good short stories. Will definitely recommend this to people that want to try poetry but aren't quite sure where to start

Liked the poems and stories in this book along with the photos. My favorite was Mama. The authors love for her family shines through and it's a good book for an afternoon read to warm your heart. I won this book in a goodreads giveaway thank you.

I received this book from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review.... A quick read, decently written yet very bland and often felt repetitive, thus didn't captivate my interest for very long. It wasn't my style and half-way through, I was very bored.

While not exactly my style this is a good collection of poetry and short writing. The poem 'Mama' dedicated to the author's mother was lovely and 'This One Night' also stood out for me. I received my copy through Goodreads first reads program.

Actually passed this to a friend who both loves & writes poetry. She gives it 4-5 stars & is keeping to re-read before it comes back to me. Actually passed this to a friend who both loves & writes poetry. She gives it 4-5 stars & is keeping to re-read before it comes back to me.
